I'm not interested in Josslyn Jacks being in the WSB.

I hope Cat is not connected to the ISA..

I watched Monday's and Tuesday's episodes last night but feel asleep and missed most of Tuesday's episode.

Still not happy certain characters weren't there. It makes no sense. It must be Days awful schedule of taping.

Sami returns next week or the week after to be there for her mother Marlena.

Or the budget again.

I wish they had found a way to make it work though. Tate and Rachel weren't even in today's episode.

I actually did like Isabella's friendship with Jack/Jen.  I feel like a lot of material was forced on Isabella like Victor being her dad, Bo being her brother, the crazy sister, the insta John love affair-none of it was natural to me.  I HATED Izzy B back in the day, but in a rewatch situation she's okay.  Very pushy with RoJohn about the baby and making a choice between her and Marlena though.  Give the man 10 minutes lol

I probably would've liked Isabella if I had watched in real time. From what I have seen, she just seemed so easily swayed by Ernesto, similar to how her son is so swayed and beholden to Kristen 😂😂

Leo: I know I look beautiful in my rainbow funeral attire. I'm funny, hot, write for a newspaper and flirt with every man in Salem and I also do eulogies!!😁😊☺️

And you know that if Ron had been writing, Leo would've been the first one to comfort Marlena with binges of Drag Race 😂

Today was good but I was distracted with Chanel's almost bored face at times, especially compared to Carrie and Kayla who were just in bits throughout. Weird to have her and Johnny there, who do not have the long connection with Drake/John, when Jack and Jennifer are back and both go back 40 years with him. I would have much preferred to see them there. Ditto Paulina who barely knew him, but Julie is absent. Bo was great today though, wish they had shown a flashback of that moment on the cliff, I remember it well.

I'm glad we got that wee nod to Isabella today, with Brady holding the numbers from the Venice gondola and telling his Mum to take care of John

Having said that, the all funeral, all the time stuff is getting tedious now and I'm ready to move on. Not missing Leo or Alex though!

Roman vs. Stefano, Cliff top, Beach Below
This is one of the most important scenes on DAYS in the 80s. After this nothing was ever the same. DAYS 11-23-84

I have the longer version including quicksand on my usual video hosting site.

That's Bo with his brother Roman in 1984.  Bo was talking about a scene he had with John Black. The scene Bo described today was from 5/16/86. It was actually the episode where John found out (and thought incorrectly for six years) that he was Roman:

5227...5/16/86:
Cast: Alex, Bo, Emma, Hope, Kimberly, Marlena, Roman (formerly John), Shane, Victor, Kimberly's Baby/Andrew, Ingrid, Yuri, KGB Agent # 2/Leonid, KGB Agent # 1.
Sets: Ranger Station & Ext., Int. Hunting Cabin, Woods, Marlena/John Campsite, Kimberly/Shane Campsite, Hope/Bo Campsite, Abandoned Campsite, Alex/Emma Salem Inn Room; ON LOCATION (Scenes # 53-64): Woods, Cliff/Area Above and Below.

Synopsis:  John, realizing he's stopped Victor and the KGB for a while stops to get his breath back. He turns to find Bo confronting him with a knife. John tells Bo that he's got somewhere he has to go and tells Bo to get out of his way. Bo reminds him of some the dreadful things Stefano's done but John keeps telling him that he doesn't remember any of it. Bo doesn't believe him and says he's going to kill him. They start to fight and when John gets the knife off Bo he throws it aside. Bo is surprised but determined and they continue to fight, now both unarmed. Bo loses his balance on the edge of the cliff and John pulls him away from the edge. Bo comes at him again and John goes over the side just as a horrified Marlena arrives at the bottom of the cliff.

Another excellent tribute day. It's all well done and the actors are shining.

Still, since this is now running for 3 days, the missing characters are even more noticeable. The omissions are glaring.

It's sad that Peacock couldn't throw in a few thousand extra to make this work.

Did I miss something? Why isn't Will at the funeral?

And it's been great to see Deidre Hall acting again. I haven't seen that since the 80s.

Isabella is better in rewatch.  She was needy and annoying in all the clips she appeared in to me.  As time went on I realized she was a good partner for John in the moment.

LOL. Chanel/Raven did look bored.

When I watch clips of Isabella, I mostly appreciate Staci Greason's screen presence and chemistry with those around her, even as the character seemed underwritten. I remember claims that many viewers actually did not want Marlena with RoJohn when she returned because they enjoyed his pairing with Isabella (and most of Marlena's screen time had been with Wayne's Roman anyway, although clearly she and RoJohn had fans). You wonder what would have been if Staci hadn't left, although I imagine Reilly would have still wanted to pair up John and Marlena.

Today's episode was excellent, especially the recreation of the garden of flowers with John/Marlena's voiceover from 1999 - that was brilliant.  I also liked how two things that were John's big traits were mentioned: his eyebrow lift and "That's a fact."   LOL  I think out of everyone's eulogies (I enjoyed them all), the one that hit me hard the most was Paul's, mainly because of Christopher Sean's tears and emotion.

These last three episodes have been an amazing tribute to John/Drake.

The little girl playing Rachel is really good. I think she's going to be a huge star one day.

I will back you up and I remember people actually wanted Isabella/John and Wayne's Roman/Marlena together.  JER and even the writers before him in 1991 were setting up the seeds for Marlena/John, but it's interesting to think about.  I think Isabella would have ended up like Kristen resorting to schemes and lies to keep John, so it's probably better she died.

Thanks, too many cliff scenes!

A long one today. 48 minutes.

Today was also an all Vet episode. Not a younger character in sight lol

I loved seeing John’s wake continuing on at the Pub and also having everyone rehash the adventures that they had with him over the years. It was nice seeing so many flashbacks too, from West Virginia, Stockholm, the reunion on the Pier, the Possession, etc. Marlena and Shane’s monologue about them all being friends and sticking together through everything was one of the best parts of today. That final scene between Roman and Marlena was really sweet too. And, I’m very glad that it was mentioned that it was the real Roman who shot and killed Orpheus’ wife 😂

I thought Jack and Jennifer were used very effectively too. They should have been at John’s funeral, but I enjoyed Jennifer’s scenes with Julie and Hope and Jack’s scene at Abigail’s grave. It was nice seeing the three Horton women catch up. They do have a natural chemistry that make them seem so much like family. And I agree, Julie. It was Bo and Hope’s love that made them able to survive everything all these years.

There was one moment where the dialogue seemed a little clunky though. Did Julie not remember that they all survived the ship sinking during the. Cruise of Deception, not just Jack and Jennifer lol

And, I also think they hinted today as to how

Spoiler

Bo and Hope are going to be written out

But I actually don’t mind it.

Days of Our Lives - June 11, 2025: John Black’s Farewell part three

Honestly, I’m a bit worn out after two full weeks of nonstop mourning for John. We've said our goodbyes - to the character and the actor - and it feels like it’s time to move forward.

I also think they really missed the mark by not having Jack, Jen, Will, Sami, Maggie, and Julie fully present at the funeral. Same with Tony and Anna - their absence was felt. Kristen (Eileen Davidson) would’ve added some nice edge, even in a quick cameo. And how did Hope not give a eulogy?

Also… the music during Bo’s speech? Not it. Just didn’t land emotionally for me.
That said, Carrie’s return was a breath of fresh air - totally what the show needed right now.

Yet another John tribute today?? At this point even the cast must be emotionally fried 😅
