Except she was the last to know yesterday

What do you mean?  Sarah told Xander about the drug as soon as she found out about it, and before eating the scone.

She also told Xander not to buy the hospital in March because the impending lawsuits from the sabotaged set of Body & Soul would eventually lower the price of the hospital. (one assumes Bonnie and Justin's lawsuits have been forgotten)

In fact, she called it a money pit at the time, and now she and her daughter stand to make a fortune. Just as, she knew that Philip's claim to the fortune were both fraudulent, and a good distraction to keep Xander from making a bid until the time was right...

Even more proof that Dr. Sarah Horton-Kirakis is the true evil genius of Salem.

Arianna coming back will be fun. Just in time for Aaron Greene to return for the summer perhaps?

Either him or Doug III. Those are the only guys in town that she's not related to 😂

Random Hump Day Reactions

Despite my better judgment about commenting on appearances—what is going on with Philip’s skin? He looks distractingly sunburned.

He goes to the same tanning salon as his brother, Rex 😂

And, that if Xander benefitted from his wife's knowledge about a drug being researched at her hospital, and one day later he made a bid for said hospital, that's called fraud as it is akin to insider trading.

For example, if my husband was a real estate agent, and he told me to buy this undervalued property because he knew there was a $1,000,000 diamond buried under the toilet.  That would be fraud, because his duty would be to get the best price for his client.  But, if he would directly profit, because as my husband he would get half of the profits from the diamond, that's fraud.

And that's what Sarah did.

She waited until the hospital was worth nothing to tell her husband to buy now for cheap, because it will be worth a fortune in future due to the drug (information she thought nobody knew but Kayla). Thus, she profits from the University's misfortune.  And once again, Sarah is the true evil mastermind of Salem. 😉🤑

That could be a pretty good addition to this storyline

-- I'm on record as enjoying the new writers at DAYS, but add me to the list of those who have big problems with the hospital purchase being tied to the miracle drug. I'll accept a lot under the "It's A Soap" banner, but I hate it when it goes ludicrous.

It is also so much easier if it was the other way around…

If EJ owned a pharmaceutical company. And the only way he would donate a huge training grant to the hospital is if they would do a trial of his company's new Sepsis drug.  And Bo happens to have Sepsis.  Then, it writes itself so much simpler.

Also, has Kayla forgotten that she gave a magical walking drug to Sarah a few months ago?  I'd bet you could make much more money from a paralysis cure than a sepsis treatment.  And she synthesized the treatment from Dr. Rolf, so it is really Kayla's drug.  Why isn't she marketing that?

Note:  I'm a realist, it is not like I am asking them to sell the Lexi angel that cures people of cancer (and head injuries)😉.

Old Rachel just seemed devious always with her elaborate hairstyles and snotty behavior.  I assume this girl is just a better actress or something.  They both seem to have the same capabilities, but I guess we will see where the story goes.

I kinda like that Rachel's not really a demon anymore. Kristen's daughter or not, it wasn't necessary for her to be like that.

And just like with GH, we all know that Ron thinks it's funny to write the kids as nasty, obnoxious little sh*ts 😂😂

I do get that.  I also did think Rachel was the child Kristen and Brady deserved though lol.

Given that we've each commented that Rachel's nonverbal “tells” were definitely meant to be foreboding today.  I'd say there's still an evil streak in Rachel.

Also, her Johnny reference seemed oddly knowing...

So, I enjoy that this one is a bit smarter, and less weirdo Wednesday Adams with a stuffed snake.

How about a Javi and Kevin pairing? Kevin and Doug pairing? Kevin is cute. I've never seen him before.

Will and Sonny not wanting to pay for Adrianna ticket? WTF? NO!!

He was part of the Last Blast crew. And he dated Mimi for a while.

Though I would love for him to save Javi from Leo 😂😂

I know you want Sarah to be an evil genius and I'm all for it but their only discussion of it was on Valentine's day when Xander suggested buying the hospital and Sarah quipped that the situation was not that dire. Then recently he asked her what she knew about sepsis but they never discussed the drug, just that he had heard a cure was in the works. Then she only found out he was buying the hospital yesterday from Kayla.

I kind of assume they're toning down Rachel's bad seed tendencies a bit to make it less obvious if they're going for her as the shooter. At least that's what I hope they're doing - I've really enjoyed Rachel being a bratty evil DiMera princess and Marlena finally getting a grandchild she deserves.

Happy 18th Birthday, Sophia!

I like that Tate gave her a birthday party. And that Marlena counseled him about whether or not he has feelings for Sophia, and his relationship with Holly. I like how messy Tate is and I hope he continues to be messy. He just needs to have more argument/fight scenes with Doug III 👊🏻

Days just needs to work a little bit more on establishing better chemistry between Tate and Sophia, but I still think that’s mostly due to Rachel Boyd. Sometimes, I think that Sophia might secretly be scheming, but with the way RB plays it, (if that’s what they’re going for), it doesn’t seem to be working. Tate was also really sweet and dorky during the party too 😊😊

The drug scenes didn’t do much for me though. I don’t mind that Kevin panicked and ran off with the drug once he heard Steve and Shawn coming, but I felt like that story was the weakest part of today. But I am interested in seeing what happens next. And I couldn’t help but laugh when I noticed that Steve and Shawn had matching jackets 😂😂😂

Btw, I see Mayor Price established a quid pro quo with Xander today lol I wouldn’t mind that being more than just a plot point. It could lead to some pretty good drama if it’s handled correctly. And it would be a lot better than Xander declaring war on Sweet Bits/Chanel and Felicity.

And Stephanie, finally having her mother to confide in about her life, her relationship with Alex, etc. has been one of the best things about the Paula/Jeanne episodes. The book thing still seems very Ron/Jamey-like though, mostly because it’s so centered around Alex, sort of like how GH used to make storylines about Liz all about Finn or Franco 🤮🤮

Hopefully, Stephanie talks to Kayla about the book. I’d like to hear more of her perspective on it. I also like that Kayla and Marlena were there for each other as well. These are such better ways to use all three of them.

And, we got an update about John 😥

One other thing I’ve noticed about the Paula/Jeanne episodes (except for the ones that are worked on by Jamey) is that they’re longer than Ron episodes. Episodes usually clock in at around 40-41 minutes now, as opposed to 35-37, or as short as 31. I like that.

Kind of a fun show, only slowed down a bit for the penthouse scenes. I'm still not sure if we are meant to be hoping Tate and Sophia fall in love with each other and keep their baby. I felt sorry for her, what a crappy prom birthday that was.

Paulina and Xander's negotiations cracked me up. Two players with absolutely no reason to hide their agendas from each other. Refreshing.

No comment on Alex getting turned on by Stephanie's book again. This is all the new writers can do for this couple? I know they are shallow and their entire relationship is based on sex but come on, this is mortifying.

Philip's bad day has been ongoing all week. I love the comedy stylings of him and Kevin and now they have all the Versavix. A bit of foreshadowing that Xander is going to go nuts on him if he messes up the deal, which I think he has just done. I'm guessing that if Xander does anything to Philip then Kate will spill Sarah's part in the lie as revenge.

Steve and Shawn did Kevin a major solid by hiding his thieving. He should just take the lot to Titan who can reverse engineer it, and let EJ get stuck with a hospital with absolutely nothing going for it.

Did Shane actually find John or was it just 'closing in' again? Marlena's reaction seemed to indicate he was actually located.
