She does... half the cast seem relaxed and comfortable in their scenes (like Nicole), and the other half still seem a bit wooden and nervous.  I know that'll get better over the next few months, but its so obvious and takes you out of the scene sometimes.

As these stories play out I'm reminded that there may be a reason Michelle Val Jean was never a successful head writer in her 30 plus years in soaps. She's very weak so far. 

I think half the show is full of potential and the other half (maybe third) can go. But that's pretty typical of a very new soap for me.

I am not going to come in with any preconceived notions about MVJ and her ability or lack thereof since she only ever interim HW'ed once very, very briefly at GH. That is a pre-written thesis that lacks data.

I thought Julie Hanan Carruthers was there to help coordinate some of the production stuff. . . . 
The legal meetings in the diner and in the OPPOSING COUNSEL's office?  wtf?

It feels like a place to put Vanessa since they basically duplicated the character in Cady's second bestie for Dani. I get it but I do find it odd. I am not sold or dismissing it in either direction just yet.

Bill is being a creepy as$h0le to try to manipulate Naomi that way.

The charm laid on like he's the nice guy, but he's not.

It is funny that both this casino and Zach's on AMC look like Golden Corral.

I like JL on the show but I do not care about Doug or his gambling. Doug can die immediately.

I agree and I think for me, it's mostly because I don't really KNOW these people involved yet.  They need to be established more with character-driven scenes that make me feel for them... and then get into the plot of it all.

The more I get to know Naomi... the more I'm confused how Hayley was her best friend. 

And this gambling filler is just...  Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I don't buy Nicole and Vanessa as besties, either. Their personalities and their entire vibes are so different. Vanessa makes sense as a close friend of Dani.

But no, the show had to shoehorn in Cady McClain as Dani's friend for some reason, when Cady's vibe would match much better with Nicole.
