I've ragged on her a bit myself, but I've come round to her with this story. She can be frustrating, but I never denied that she was a good actress and she's been especially great all the times she's hoping to God sh*t doesn't hit the fan.

She's okay.  She can be good sometimes and other times I am like what is the energy you are channeling?  Ex.  the Renee story and her tendency to baby talk.

I do think her styling is odd for a Dr. and I don't like her hair at all, but that's just me not liking it.  I don't think she's ugly or awful.

Yeah, I think I've only mentioned her hair and eyebrows bothering me, but that's a styling issue. And thankfully, I have not seen one iota of that horrid "story" and hopefully I never will.

Please never look that story up for your own mental health lol

I don't think LG's styling is flattering for her at all, but if she likes it and feels comfortable I suppose it's fine.  I think a Dr. should just look slightly more put together.  She doesn't have to wear Marlena blazers but maybe a few less tiny tees and baggy pants.

but I'm confused over people shipping Xander and Sarah.

Granted I haven't regularly watch since it moved to Peacock and SOD stopped being print, but they had a fanbase. Typical good (if neurotic) girl meets bad boy. And they used to have chemistry. That said...I also am not feeling her mousy hair. Perhaps if she was redish in her hair.

*walking in with Stefano Dimera swagger* We are soooo back. lol.

Like I said earlier...I haven't been a regular watcher (or have not been able to keep up) since DAYS moved to Peacock and SOD stopped being a print mag. And from what I heard, I didn't have much desire to. Except to peek in here and there. So I said I would wait until the new writers came in since it felt like a good starting point. Funnily enough I do believe that means that I haven't been a regular viewer since the 50th and/or RC's first year or so on the show.

This might be a bit scattered so early apologies. But I liked the first episode.

I always have a soft spot for 'Sweetness' so I liked that my first episode back was centered around her in a way. And I take it that Steve and Stephanie are currently the only Johnsons in town.

I was VERY pleased to see JJ was back in town. And it seems permanent this time around. And he's with GABI? They had potential the last time I regularly watched so good to see that relationship was circled back around to.

I was also pleased to hear that Susan was alive. I heard she died. How has she been alive if no one minds me asking?

ED is my Kristen, though I've always loved SH as an actress dating all the way back to Superboy and Kindred the Embraced. And she seem and looked great today in her scenes. And it seems like I've tuned back in for her to start a scheme to get the company back. I'm intrigued.

Looking forward to the fallout with EJ shooting. And I liked the scenes of Kayla telling him who had been by to visit him.

Well I liked Xander and Sarah as a couple from the little I saw, and this seems like a good secret she is keeping. Good to see Maggie as the talk-to and trying to subtly work on Xander.

So this is THE Kat? I see it. She dressed and acts just like Abigail so I can see why she got casted in that story. And Flynn has aged since I've seen him last. Still looks good just surprised.

I was worried about how small the sets would look to my eyes, but thankfully it did not seem to bug me today.

I only feel sorry that I didn't see Marlena tbh.

Susan originally "died" in a fiery car crash off a cliff caused by Ava, but Clyde had kidnapped her and sent her to her ex-husband Edmund, who kept her captive.

Today was a long one. 48 minutes.

There seemed to be a lot more depth and emotion throughout the entire episode, particularly in the Rafe/Jada scenes. Plus, those scenes didn’t feel rushed or treated like a big joke and that’s always a good thing. And Elia Cantu always does a pretty good job when she plays Jada’s scenes as though she’s hurt and heartbroken as opposed to angry and nasty. Rafe accepting a job offer out of town was a surprise too. Is he really leaving? Or is he gonna change his mind at some point?

I was a little confused by Gabi today though. She was acting like Philip and Xander took over Dimera like months ago, as opposed to just last week. Gabi asking Brady to intercede with Philip and Xander on her behalf could lead to something interesting happening, especially with the way that he responded to it. For the first time in a long time, he didn’t seem so weak and wimpy. Btw, Gabi’s new office set isn’t bad either lol

And I still can’t help but think that EJ is only pretending to try to be a better person but I enjoyed his scenes with Belle. I also enjoyed her scenes with Johnny and the way that she comforted him. Johnny’s confession was a surprise too. And it totally makes sense considering everything that’s happened lately. It could be some pretty good conflict for him and Chanel.

The cliffhanger at the end was pretty good too. And I’m glad that it’s going to lead in to the storyline that we’ve all been waiting for since 2023 😂😂

Overall, I’m impressed. Paula/Jeanne really have hit the ground running. This all has me excited for next week already!

So the episode was overall fine with a lot of emphasis on Kayla, but I'm confused over people shipping Xander and Sarah.  They seem to lack chemistry and her mousy hair and punch-able face makes me seriously question the decline on casting beautiful and appealing women to play characters on the soap.

I think the change in head writers will first be noticed in the initial day to day episodes, but I don't think a change will be apparent in the long term story plan for awhile since they have to finish off Ron's story threads that are ongoing.

Is the show thinking of pairing Chad/Cat?

Well Xander and Sarah have a 6 year history where they have built up a loyal fan base. I won't comment on you dragging the actresses looks, that should never be a factor. They have always been a deeply flawed couple where each of them makes mistakes but the through line has always been that they truly love each other

Cat and Chad have been slow building for months.

First, welcome!! DAYS is a traditional soap for me, so I am in it up to here unless I happen to be "taking a break".

Well, as you  might recall, they (IMO stupidly) killed Adrienne. Technically Jack is a Johnson & sometimes he is in Salem although his permanent residence now is Boston.

I love that you are a Kindred fan. I am one, too!!!

I still call her F'bby for Fake Abby.

Yeah, I have to agree Xander/Sarah have a strong fanbase.  Outside of Ben/Ciara, they are the only younger couple that's had any traction with the audience over the last few years.

They also tend to have some of the sillier plotlines (Renee) and LG seems to get fired or leave every other year, so I think that's why the consistency of their story is off sometimes.  I still find them rootable for the most part even if I do think they are toxic for each other.

Paul was thrilled that with the obvious separation coming with this plot that Linsey kept her job. He always says it makes far more sense for Sarah to be in town than Xander.

I'm excited to see a Xarah story not written by Ron. Paul said to expect more mature writing with the new regime.

I agree with that regarding Sarah vs. Xander staying in town.  Sometimes I am surprised Xander is still viable.

It will be interesting to see a Xarah story written by a new team because as I said I think LG especially gets thrown off by the wackiness of some of their plots.  Maturity would be a lovely thing for them.

So I watched Wednesday's episode and... I enjoyed it a lot!

The production values were not bad at all IMHO. And the actors- I was shocked they were able to pull off that quality with their crazy taping schedule. My hat's off to them. Looking forward to watching more from the new regime.
