GH: April 2025 Discussion Thread

I do understand the sense of obligation from the show and the people there who love him. It is far from the first time something like this has happened at this show or I'm sure many others. GH for years put in all sorts of subs for Jessie Brewer and worked around Emily McLaughlin's issues until they couldn't anymore. We know they did the same for Kirsten Storms, which has recently turned out right. I do think FV's heart is probably in the right place re: Mo's health. But it is not good for the show, it's not their job, it's incredibly bad for story at this point and it's ultimately bad for Maurice IMO. It needs to change. And that's not even getting to the other question.

I agree; the show has a history of accommodating their company of actors when it comes to medical problems, whether on a temporary basis or something more ongoing. However, I'm also of the mindset that Benard's ongoing problem feels like he's using it, at times, as a crutch/excuse (again from my opinion... stating in case someone tries to say something, lmao).

Well then, if you are correct about this, then, I can tell you 100% Disney has total faith in Frank & he is going absolutely nowhere.  Some who tend to know have even suggested that they would shut down the show if they did not have Frank to run it for them. Do you happen to recall that special contract that James Reilly had with Corday/Sony? Well, guess who has that same kind of contract?

I agree with this 100%.

Obviously, I am no expert on this kind of thing, but I do think if MB felt he was allowed to take a break and still be viable and popular he might do it.  He's clearly very friendly and comfortable with Vanessa and knows that's the pairing he needs.  He might relax more if she took on a more frontburner role knowing he would still be relevant if he took a bit of time off.

Okay, those drugged party-boy Drew scenes today were hilarious. Hats off to the writers for contriving a way to get so many characters in the Savoy watching him do body shots off the escort Nina and Portia hired to seduce him. So many great reaction shots, but I think my favorite belonged to Joss:

-- GH threw Natalia under the bus again today. All that talk about Sidwell accepting Marco as gay and still not getting acceptance from Natalia -- while reminding us of Natalia's "homophobic rant" against Blaze -- serve only to make the audience despise Natalia even more. Sidwell comes out even better.

-- The Drew Is On Ketamine stuff was fun. Entertaining stuff. When he yelled "Body shots!" I laughed out loud. Of course, it was convenient that bar area was completely free of any drinks and barware.

I wonder if it's that easy to drug a member of Congress IRL. Kinda hope it is.

And yeah, poor Gio. I really hope he isn't ruined by this whole Sonny thing, and that the writers let the character keep his own free will.

There is no evidence for any of this. No one here is privy to the individual contracts of executives, producers, directors, actors or the writers of daytime soap operas. You are spouting unverified information, which you have repeatedly been told not to do.

There is no evidence of this. Frank Valentini is an executive producer and officially does not receive writing credit; therefore does not have input on the viability of current characters.
