Although I didn't want this role recast, I do think 13 weeks is enough to know if someone is working in a role or not and considering the choice is 13 weeks or 26 (unless you wanna pay them not to work), I say go for it. But Ted? I'm still shocked by this.

Exactly! Ted?! He was one of the strongest additions to the cast outside of the core 4. Again, I really hope he wanted out b/c he couldn't handle the schedule.

I just don't want this show to fall into tropes of fallen soaps. Yes, people will come and leave and roles will be recast; however, I don't want this show to have 349 Eva recasts in 2 years. I want this show to win so bad.

But congrats to Keith. He is a solid actor and a good catch for the show.

This is interesting! He's older but at least in that Deadline photo he looks younger. When it comes to Black actors I just wait and see what is portrayed on screen. You can never tell how old we are anyway.

I will say, based on recent events I've seen photos from of the past five-to-six years, he's older than the photo Deadline Hollywood provided. I think he's going to do well in the role, especially knowing his work pre-this role.

Original Ted was just tweeting about the show a couple days ago!

Maurice Johnson was tweeting about Ted last night!

He tweeted about the show frequently all these weeks, interacted with viewers, reweeted BTG posts

Well once I saw it and given talks of who the first recast would be...well...let me sit back and read before I go touch grass...

If anyone needs to be recast, it is Derek.

Agree. Derek is the weak link of the main male cast members.

Great, now we can get Andre, Jacob and Ted confused.

IKR. When I saw the picture I was scared it was Andre being recast.

It's certainly not who I would recast and I think it's a pity but let's not pretend people acting shocked on Twitter is going to be some huge scandal. It is a recast on a new soap opera, it is not that serious lol.

Don't put that out there in the universe.

LOL typical response, and no one said it would "cause a huge scandal" 🙄

How disappointing this wasn’t an Ashley, Derek, or Martin being replaced…

I peeped Keith in a behind the scenes video with Andre’s actor during premiere week, had no idea he’d be joining as the shows first recast lol. He is a great actor so I look forward to seeing his take on the role. Good luck to Maurice Johnson he’s been a good champion for the show and he worked well onscreen at least.

This replaced actor wasn't the worst but I can see why they chose to do it; he had no chemistry with Daphnee/Nicole, and he came across kind of fey.  Still a mistake not making him Bill's brother, IMO,

I don’t know what happened, but there was nothing wrong with Maurice and I am sad to see him go this soon. I hope it was his choice, but if it wasn’t, then the show made a mistake letting him go IMO.

I wish this new actor good luck though and I hope he does well.

Right. Breathlessly running back and forth between here and Twitter and saying 'omfg you guys this is serious' all the time based on some tweets you saw kind of makes you lose perspective. I don't particularly love Maurice Johnson being out but a recast on a new soap opera is not a major crisis.

It is strange. I wonder if it was about the workload because he's been very active on social media. Some actors just can't take it.
