The way the episode ended was weird/off. The scene just quickly faded to black/credits. I felt like that wasn't intended to be the last scene but it was.  And coincidentally, it was another breakdown by Gregori Martin with unusual editing.

You think the episode would have ended with Joey on the phone to Marcel. You know, a dramatic scene to end the episode of a soap opera. Strange. However, I found today better than practically all of last week. I think Marcel is probably undercover rather than crooked, but we'll see. I thought the Anita/Naomi scenes were sweet and wonderful, and the rap was adorable and showed a fun contrast to Anita's steelier side. It was also nice to learn more about Jacob, and I'm fully invested in what Joey has planned and how it's starting to effect more people.

He could be better, but I'm not minding Tomas too much. I think he's slowly getting better and more comfortable. But if he's just a plot point for the Eva/Kat rivalry, so be it.

I loved today's episode. It was a very character driven episode to me. Tamara Tunie!!! She is amazing and I loved her rap LOL

Tomas, is definitely improving and I like him with Kat. Eva was too funny and definitely a scene stealer today.

I hope we get to meet Darlene and Luke and see more of Elon and the Hawthorne's.

I'm so glad this show exist!!!

Totally agree. She has traits of other soap characters, but she is originally her own person. And yes, her personality is too big for a lot of folk, but there are people like that in real life so I can understand.

I bet Nicole is, too.

I feel SilkPress will find out about Eva. The question is when. But just the fact that both of them have a secret makes it all that much juicier for when they find out about the other one.

How that scene was set up...nope. Don't believe it. As shown and written...not to mentioned acted...Dani did not know. And one thing we can be sure of...Dani IS the type of character who would have admitted she did in that moment.

Yep, Hayley is just impatient to fit in. And as she was told in Episode 1...that is sooo not going to happen on her timetable.

I know right! Casting be on point with the men on this show looks-wise. And like father, like son for me.

I really enjoyed today's episode. JDB's continues to excel with his dialogue. We went from "camel toe" to "robbing the cradle to robbing the grave," although the Diego actor flubbed the line.

I love the world building regarding the Hawthorne family and also learning more about Anita's past. I'm already wishcasting Anita's former groupmates and the role of Darlene Hawthorne in my mind.

I do agree, however, that the outlining was odd. We saw Chelsea and Kat at the country club, then Orphey Gene's, then back at the country club. Why not have lunch at the club? I enjoyed Anita's turn as rapping granny as much as the runway party from a few weeks ago but it was not my estimation of a soap ending, even for a Monday.

And I must say that Latvia's song is oddly magnetic. I think it deserves a place in the final. I would much rather have seen Australia and Serbia in the final than Lithuania and Malta though.
    • Grant Aleksander is a charismatic performer, but I never liked Philip very much. I thought he was a sanctimonious ass at times and also too intense for me. I do think they had a great opportunity for his 2009 return story at showing a man who had come back from the brink and wanted to reclaim his life. If the show had continued, I am curious to see what they would have done. The show's biggest mistake with the Spauldings was keeping Alan much too long instead of having Philip take his place as head of the family. Ron Raines was the luckiest man in daytime to last for 15 years. Alan should have died in the early '00s at the latest, during the Philip/Olivia saga.
    • Too soon to make any judgments about nuTed, but I will say that I think they should've gone older.  And I also saw some chemistry between Bill and Leslie as well lol but Bill's part in Ted and Leslie's affair/Bill and Ted's friendship needed to be established a lot sooner than when the reveal happened. Their relationship could be a really good counterpoint to the Duprees.   But I really liked the parallel that was drawn between Kat and Chelsea, and what their father's did. I like their relationship and I hope they go on to investigate Laura's accident. I just hope it doesn't come until something happens between Eva and Tomas.  Btw, Happy Birthday, Eva! A lot of birthdays today

    • I love you He’s definitely not for me. He comes across very meek. Trisha is going to eat this man alive in scenes.  Excellent scenes! Her damn nicknames be tearing me the hell up
    • Stephanie also was raped in college and killed her rapist along with the help of Chelsea.  It was an accident, but that's something the show has only touched on once or twice since AK took over the role. Very good point!
    • Robinson is less imposing than Johnson was and that makes the character seem completely different. If anything he came off as someone who could have played Doug.
    • Exactly. That's a fertile ground, where a lot of drama could be mined from. That's a great idea. Especially since her kidnapping was a part of the Dimera/Kiriakis war at the time. Not only could it cause conflict between Stephanie and Alex/the Kiriakises, it could also be tied to both families trying to buy the hospital, and how that would make the hospital look, since these villainous families both want to own it.
    • Hmmmmmmm... I'll have to go back and check

    • @j swift @carolineg I was looking at some scenes on YT of Shelley's take on Stephanie.. and her 2007/2008 take on Stephanie was very spirited, bold, and confident.   I often think her ordeal in 2009 when she was kidnapped and kept in the morgue by that creepy guy probably did change her.. but I don't recall the show ever focusing on the after effects of such a traumatic event. In fact... her novel/manuscript should have been loosely based on that trauma in a fictionized account.  Maybe the rest of the manuscript will involve some of that.. but I doubt Ron C would ever think to include that event in a constructive way to explain the current behaviors/motivations of Stephanie.
    • All recast reasons aside I wouldn’t want to think about those first few years when Steffy and Bill were manipulating everything behind the scenes and the back and forth with Wyatt if I were Hope myself.
