To be honest, I think the main issue is that 90% of the scenes so far has been about propping up Ashley one way or another, but particularly with them continuously telling us what a great nice nurse-person she is rather than showing us. And it's not like it would be hard to show her being caring, compassionate etc. They've done a great job with showing us that Nicole is level-headed, caring and compassionate so I'm not sure why they feel the need to hit us over the head with Ashley.

Just give her more scenes with other characters where the scene isn't about the other characters telling us how great she is. I'll never get why writers sometimes insist on doing this sort of insane propping up since it never works and is always awkward.

I wonder if the scripts for this week were written at a point when the show's premier date was assumed to be the first week of January, 2025. Or was that just speculation on the board's part? I can't remember. I also feel like someone made a brief reference to "the holidays" in one of the week 1 or 2 scripts. If so, the third week would have started with the inaugration, which would have been a preemption so Thursday's episode would have been the Friday episode.

This is my pet peeve. Is it yours?

Also of interest, we finally in this episode had mention of servants, well, just one, a cook, with a name & a specialty.

It was just speculation, but it would've made more sense for it to premiere in January with The Talk ending in December.

Ashley and Derek are like sipping tap water in good quality liquor (rest of the show). They are not needed at all. Sorry, but not sorry. I'm giving it more time...  But so far they've been incredibly one note. It's like watching another show that has nothing to do with BTG. Show I wouldn't watch. And please don't force feed me Andre and Ashley. And speaking of Andre - he needs some photography lessons... Because seeing the photos he takes - Yikes. Bad photography.

It's a mode I get into when I see my mother in law.

It wasn't speculation; when the series was announced (as The Gates) in April 2025, it was slated for a January 2025 premiere. And this was back when only Michele Val Jean was announced as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. By July, per @Soap Opera Network, the writers' room was "set".

Derek can stay. I have plans for him.

One of my recruits said immediately, that was it, she made a motion of washing her hands of them, she said I'm FFing Derek & Ashley, no discussion, that's it.

I fell over laughing!!!

Such a genuine authentic immediate reaction!!!

That's it. No discussion. Derek & Ashley, this is what they provoke.
