I feel like they've already addressed this. From the beginning they let us know something is off about Martin, that he killed someone which is doesn't remember and the he has nightmares. Obviously the Martin we're seeing is a Martin with a lot of issues stemming from that incident. I think once he deals with that we will get a better idea of who Smitty fell in love with and who the family seems to adore.

Kudos to Danielle Paige on a great friday script! I feel like this flowed much better than yesterdays episode and the show is developing a nice rhythm to it. At first I questioned why certain characters were included but I feel like each player makes sense within the world and they're doing a good job of slowly introducing them. I like that it took until Week 2 to really start diving into who Jacob was and of course today we just met Jon Lindstrom's character. We still have yet to really see the Tomas character and he's on contract. It's nice to know we still have people to meet.

Kat vs Eva continues to be a delight and I enjoyed the rooftop scenes with Kat and Chelsea. That relationship is going a long way to humanize Kat and keep her from appearing too judgmental when it comes to Eva.

Silk Press Sheila in her first disguise had me in stiches. You could never make me hate her. I'm sorry Nicole, but this is my girl!

Next week looks even better. I also have to say the lighting has improved tremendously which is so nice to see. I was worried about that ultra-bright light from the promos and the pilot but I'm glad they worked through that. The actors and the sets look much better now.

thank you!

watching drama requires the suspension if disbelief — even more so for soap fans — but, there are limits. exceed those limits risk insulting their intelligence.

fans will walk away!

for me, it’s all moving too quickly. these first two weeks have left me exhausted — too much happening too quickly to too many characters we’ve barely met — for more than a few, i still have to check a cheat sheet to figure out their name and who they are

i’m hoping that things settle down sooner rather than later. but, after the breakneck pace of this week — a three-way!? already? — i’m not holding my breath.

Super pleased with the last two weeks. Out of the remaining soaps I watch, I’ve only really kept up with GH since BTG began. I’ll occasionally try to get caught up on Days or Y&R and I just can’t do it. Even when GH frustrates me with Sonny worship, there’s enough other things and characters I like to keep me interested.

I think we're going to be seeing a lot of changes on GH. Various actors have just announced rather drastic changes to the dates of fan events. This leads me to believe they've just gotten new taping schedules. This is all on the wrong thread so I won't belabor any points.

Sorry, but I'm Team Jacob. He was put in an untenable position and I hope the family realizes that next week lol even though the potential conflict between him and Naomi could be interesting.

It was good to see Jon Lindstrom finally make his debut too. I wonder where he's gonna go from here.

I can barely keep up with this thread. It might break the board

Andre/Dani have the most off the charts heat generating romantic chemistry that I haven't seen in I don't know how long.

I’m obsessed with the wardrobe on this show. Easily best dressed soap for me and before anyone jumps in with calling it hyperbole, this is my opinion.

Lol Cheap

Jeresa Featherstone is legendary. She was one of the first people to "jump ship" which in her case, not a stretch by any means, was from B&B, and she began from scratch in August. I believe that made her the first person on support staff to get underway. And it shows!!!

I feel like it speaks to his character that he did it. We've seen people arrest family on soaps before but he did it with no empathy for Dani or care for how it would affect his family. Plus we saw his dad telling him to chill so I wouldn't be surprised if he jumped at the chance.

I'm very interested in seeing how Naomi reacts to him next week.

    • Your haughtiness amuses me in return. Like you think you know ALL?
    • I've seen this error before. I think it should be okay in the future.

    • Ted has been icky and giving off bad guy vibe from the first moment I saw him. I have a sensor for that and it was beeping! So...don't put all the blame on Silkpress. The woman needs a good psychiatrist, true... but Leslie is just one of the skeletons in HIS closet. Ted is even a bigger monster, because he's hidden.  IT WAS A PERFECT REVEAL. Perfect, because in the beginning of the show... Dani was envying her sister's marriage... In these first few messy weeks... her own misery and life spiraling was contrasted to the picture-perfect marriage Nicole and Ted seemed to have. (on first glance). What happened now... is very very smart writing. THIS IS THE MOMENT THE MASKS ARE FALLING! The message it delivers to me is this. It says - no matter how things look... they are not what they seem. You can't judge a marriage by how it appears to be. Aaaand in the long run... maybe the messiest-looking people (Dani Dupree, I'm talking about you!) HAVE less issues and problems than the ones that seem to have it all. The ones with the MOST skeletons in the closets and the dirty pasts.   It was an AHA moment for the whole family and the viewers and a way forward for Dani and Nicole to bond even more and realize they are MORE alike than they are different. Now it will be quite a different dynamic, because Dani will have to SUPPORT someone and not be the one getting her wounds licked always. And also another lesson. Some men are dogs. Not all of them. But a lot of them are. The difference is... some can't be easily recognized. These creeps have put very impressive masks. The show is doing this perfectly. Beat by beat. Exploring classic soap opera themes and stories. Real-life characters and situations, that are relatable and make you think... Hmm... maybe I need to dig a little deeper next time I say "these people are perfect" or otherwise. Maybe I need to think MORE. That type of storytelling. It's not easy to do that.  Brava BTG.  B-R-A-V-A!
    • I speculate that Nicole will go through cycles of numbness/grief/rage.  At some point later on, regardless of DNA results (or faked results), whether there was a baby swap or not, I think Nicole will forgive Eva, and eventually love her someday.  Nicole will come to understand that Leslie gaslighted/manipulated Eva.  Nicole will be her loving self, although more guarded than before.   Just my thoughts.
    • Lol. That comment was just silly.  I feel like The Guiding Light started it when they made me love Roger Thorpe. Leslie is pussycat in comparison and there is a lot of story to go  for her and Eva.
    • Your posts continue to amuse me. I don't know anyone else who thinks Leslie and Eva should "hightail it out of town."  And listen, soaps have been FOR DECADES keeping around villains who we know would be jailed in real life. So is it crazy to think "they are just going to let this slide"? No. It's kind of hilarious to watch you take everything that happens on this show and distort it or lead me to think, "Huh???"
    • I can't even count the amount of magazine covers and photoshoots KKL has been in the past few months. Shame that the show is not mirroring the success she's having. It would have been so great to see both KKL and Brooke be on top.  I'm still holding a grudge that Brad rewrote the company take-over to a nothing... and then nulled Brooke to being a romance beggar again.
    • I'm also getting an error that I haven't seen before, but there's been a couple of different variations, so not going to worry about it for now.
    • Finally got to sit down and watch. Wow!  When LesDanLuAnn said to Ted, this your daughter. I started tearing up...... Eva got me.  I felt like I was watching a soap opera.

    • The drag was when Tad and Edmund went to Budapest (?) in 1997 to get Maddie back from Dimitri.
