I thought today had a nice mix of plot-driven scenes (with the car crash aftermath, Kristina's inadvertent confession to Lucky, and Lucky's reaction) and intimate character moments. I love when the show remembers its own history, and those scenes with Emma and Anna helped to establish Emma's motivations and showcased Braedyn Bruner's best acting to date.

I fell behind GH so am only up to March 10 but have enjoyed March so far, so thought I'd do a quick post before this monthly thread heads off to the archives.

I like Emma getting involved in the crypt drama and that someone on the writing team remembered that during the poisoned water thing, Edward gave up the cure Tracy stole for him in order to save Emma, which gives Emma a plausible reason to actually care about what happens to the Q remains.

Portia changing Heather's test results came back and Drew is dangling it over her head. I'm glad she immediately went to Ava for help and is now getting legal advice from Ric.

I am slowly warming to the idea of Gio being Dante and Brook-Lyn's even though I don't like the compound SORASing and retcons that it creates. Lulu and Brook had an interesting confrontation after Lulu found out about Brook's baby. I also like the respect that Tracy has developed for Gio too.

Sidwell finding the knife Helena used to kill Alexis' mother and that whole thing was weird but interesting.

Joss and her spy training...meh

Charlotte coming back to Port Charles...meh

Looking forward to binging the rest of the month! (I did have a sneak peek at a recap so I know about Kristina causing Ric and Liz to have a car accident and Emma chaining herself to the crypt etc)

-- Suspension of Belief, Problem #1:

I get the story with the Quartermaine crypt, but what's up with the idea that a building demolition crew can just show up and destroy it? With human remains inside? It's all just ridiculous.

-- Suspension of Belief, Problem #2:

That Diane is really happy with that thing they put on her head and called a wig.

I didn't hate the whole crypt thing, but honestly, what was the point of it all if it was just gonna be wrapped up in a nice, neat little bow like it was today?

They could have at least made Gio and Emma have their first kiss or something lol

And, Liz and Lucky's final scene...

Here I am with - you guessed it - nitpick. My friend the expression is suspension of disbelief, not belief.  What you're trying to let go of is the impulse to say, That is just unbelievable.

The writing for Emma today was so good she needs to buy the writers a steak dinner.  I mean, talk about major "using history" writing! I was literally impressed.

Patrick to Emma:  You've got to drink this, okay? It's gonna make you feel better. Good girl. Good girl.

Patrick to Tracy: I don't know how to thank you.

Tracy: It wasn't me. It was my father. I thought I could, um, trick him into taking the medicine, but he was one step ahead of me, like always.

Patrick: Can you wave to Mr. Quartermaine and say thank you?

Tracy: [Chuckles] Daddy hates it when I'm emotional. He... he always says there's no reason for sadness.

Speculation.

Ric ends up brain dead. Sonny is informed of his brother’s brain death and has a massive heart attack. Sonny needs a heart transplant and is given Ric’s heart.

Does that sound like a plausible outcome to this story?

    • Just talking, no flashbacks. Lol
    • Honestly, Gio's performance was probably one of the best Nurse's Ball performances ever.  It shows how contrived and silly every other act was.  90's Nurse's Balls had their silliness too, but it tended to be with characters we cared about-not two nurses that get trotted out 3 times a year lol.  There was also some genuine singing talent happening with Vanita Harbour, Rosalind Cash, and even Ricky Martin.  I don't think anyone on the current cast has that high quality of a singing voice.  I suppose Ned can go rock out again lol. The other issue with the Nurses Ball is that the cause isn't very relevant.   Obviously, it's amazing how far we have come with HIV/AIDS treatment, but without Robin, Stone, Jon Hanley, the Quilt, etc. it's hard to feel like the cause is close to anyone's heart except for a few people that were near and dear to Stone/Robin.
    • @slick jones - thanks!!  He's gone on to do quite a bit, that's great to see.
    • Wednesday was another good one. This week has been very strong overall. Leslie has definitely carried it! I do wonder what her end game is. I can't get over how fearless she is and these mind games she plays. I'm used to villains doing whatever they can to hide their secrets but she is basically taunting everyone. Will Jacob end up putting the pieces together or be the typical soap egg head cop? We shall see.... I loved the scenes with Dani and Chelsea. Karla really shines when she is put in scenes with her daughters. I didn't expect it to work based on the ages but she comes off very believable as their mother. I also love how much she clearly cares for them and loves them. The way she immediately pivoted to focus on Chelsea's needs and making sure she knew she was loved and accepted was so heartwarming. As much as Bill wanted to be in the mix, I can't see him doing the same.  I still remain shocked that this week has finally made me feel empathetic for Doofy. I hope that this is truly the end for him and Ashley and that they pivot somewhere else for him. He is still a terrible actor but he is more bearable in scenes with other people.

    • I remember seeing Eric M doing a fan video and in the background you heard Paul and Linsey being called to Victoria's bedroom. That was end of September. I think maybe even the 30th
    • If this is posted, I can't find it. It has Vincent Irrizarry and other fan favorites.    https://www.soapkast.com/montecito/episodes/
    • In general, per Jason47's productionschedule estimate, most of what's airing now would have been filmed in late August 2024. But, as Jason himself would say, that's just an estimated average. As we all know, DAYS stuff is filmed out of order by several weeks and sometimes months depending on availability of recurring cast, guest stars, or especially if there is a specific set they want to use for a bunch of scenes that will air at different times. Per the JPI Studios photography info on some spoiler pics released... (film date shown within original URLs of one pic from SOD and a few from MichaelFairman) One scene that aired Tues May 20 was filmed Sept. 20, 2024. Some scenes airing Fri May 23 were filmed Sept 11th, 2024.   Per his IG, Leo Howard got married Sept. 9, 2024 in California.  So maybe he took some time off for that?   Or maybe it's just coincidental timing and completely unrelated.  As I said, some of what's airing in May was filmed in late August. It's so hard to say with everything being filmed out of order.
    • All I'm going to say is I hope Sawandi Wilson was acting in that dance routine because he one of the most rhythmless...... well you know the rest.
