I haven't actively watched a daytime soap opera since AMC was cancelled, which at the time of my life was the saddest end of an era for me because I had been a faithful watcher since 1991.  On the other hand, it brought a much needed hour back in my day because I was starting a new career in a new city and I started a new relationship.  I had already stopped casually watching ATWT when that got canceled, and OLTL no longer held my interest at the time, so AMC was all I had left.

Fast forward 11-12 years later and to hear a new soap was debuting, I was shocked and intrigued.  I didn't really have hope given where we are in today's world of modern day soap operas, but I decided to check it out this week just to see... and I'm very happy!  So much potential and it has been very entertaining so far.  Yes, some actors are green, and I actively had to google character lists/family trees to keep everyone straight throughout the week haha, but otherwise I think we have a successful show on our hands if viewers will tune in!

Dani, while so over the top, is very entertaining to me.  I think soaps should be a little over the top, so I don't mind it.  Leslie and her storyline is juicy and I can't wait to see how that unfolds.  Nicole is smart and I love the actress that plays her.  Anita and Vernon are royalty and perfectly cast in those roles.  I think Naomi is strong and interesting.  I can't wait to see how some of the other storylines outside of Dani/Bill/Hayley turn out.

I haven't experienced a real-time Friday cliffhanger in so so many years and it was like being a kid again!  Haha, I can't wait for Monday!  I do agree though, if that turns out to be a daydream, I won't be happy.

I'm watching right now and all I can do with Dani with him is shake my head. She looks dululu.

So Andre really DOES like Ashley. Hmmmm.

Oops. Not desperation!!!

Just finished, What a day, what a FRIDAY, what a week, what a launch!!!!

I'm gonna have to say that if we're talking about a female, Andre is interested.

Darn, Dani, that was just sad.

Karla said they didn't have their lighting the first week, it had to be shipped from Germany, they had to have a lady come out of retirement to show them how to do it

Not the mysterious box!!

Enjoying so far.

Lol. I really do feel that when it comes to her, it's genuine. But otherwise, I would agree with you. I look forward to seeing more of their history or if we get some form of flashbacks with them.

It really was. The light died in her eyes when Bill said that.

KENYA!!! But hahahahahahaa

THIS!!!

Totally agree. As a matter of fact, yesterday when she went to pieces in the elevator what I saw was genuine, real crying, actually half-sobbing & half-screaming. But, to me it was authentic.

I'm in black! But, I loved that all the Fairmont residents were dressed to the nine but IN BLACK & also loved the withering look Anita gave the two men who stood for the bride. Priceless! Sit your a*ses right back down in that chair!

Dani begging Bill was embarrassing, but it does add a layer to the character's current state. She is all over the place and it's not just anger.

When Vernon stood up and Anita told him to sit down that was such a good moment. She was like "Why are you standing up? Sit your ass down".

Was Leslie saying that Ted is Eva's father or did she mean something else? Seems like there might more to it because it's quite early to make a reveal like that.

Dani's dress is my favorite. Hair. Makeup. Design. Vibe. It's EVERYTHING.

And seeing Anita show up halfway through the episode made me think of vintage Y&R. lol.

Cady!!!!

I like Bill's assistant.

    • No.  I recall there was also a mention about how distracting it was EOB's Gwen wasn't wearing nail polish as well.  That it was someone's pet peeve. And, yes, the fact characters can have a manicure in prison is the wildest continuity issue here.
    • Can anyone remember Mary Ellen Stuart's run as Jenny? I'm trying to fill in the cracks for missing stuff that we overlooked.  Bulletpoints:  * Dated Ross * Rusty's police partner * Directly responsible for Dinah coming forward about George Stewart (Cam's father)
    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton twirling his invisible moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?

    • Thanks for asking that!  Back when we had another major event upcoming (a party or the concert), I had intended to ask what everyone here was planning to wear.
