The timing is wild...they've made a concerted effort in the last month/month and a half, to give Brennan stuff to do outside of helping Carly out of a pickle every 3 weeks. They were building him up as a man on canvas "worthy" of Carly. This is when Mesure decides to bounce? Something in the milk ain't clean.

Now that I see Chris's start date...WOW...talk about keeping a recast under wraps. What's REALLY going on?

Very.

The actor wasn't bad but the Brennan character has always been a flop for me. He is dull and doesn't have chemistry with anybody. I was never moved by his scenes with Carly and found them to be a filler pairing which is strange considering how important she is. I'm hoping the new actor fits in better.

Carly has been so burnt out for a variety of reasons - overuse, she has been on top for too long, her kids don't give her good enough story (although she has had some with the Michael burn plot), she was an anti-heroine who they decided to write as a heroine, and they never found another proper partner for her outside of Jason and Sonny (they were never very serious about Jax/Carly).

LOL!!

But seriously.  It's one thing to leave the show, but to drop out of previously scheduled public events, and on very short notice?  Either there's something in Mesure's private life (such as a sick loved one) that needed attending to ASAP, or yet another actor has f'ed up royally BTS.

Either way, I'm inclined to think Chris McKenna's just filling in to finish out the storyline and send the character to his watery grave (or, worse, to New Jersey).

I loved the way Charles Mesure filled out a suit, so I will miss that.

I have no idea what they're going to do about the Kiwi accent. And, you may not credit this but the first thing I thought was this: There is some big story behind this but we are never going to know what it is. And, on top of that, a month has gone by, how in the he** did they keep this secret FOR THAT  LONG?
