I remember there was an odd word I hadn't heard that Vivian used for Gus, but can't think of it now. I think I probably looked it up the day she used it 15 or so years ago.

In regards to the "other" manservant, are you talking about the Torres bodyguard Manny? You mentioned 3/11/92, and he is in that one. Also, Lawrence had his own helper, Gregory Lacost, played by Clayton Landey, who was around before Vivian/Ivan in 1991, but who returned for 2 episodes (4/29/92 and 4/30/92)

So, Arnold has been living at the Salem Inn since New Year's Eve?

And he doesn't wear Rafe's clothes?

And he really makes no attempt to sound like Rafe?

And, how does he know what to do as the Police Commissioner?  Is it that easy that any shmoe from Argentina can waltz in and do the job? What about Rafe's passwords and thumbprints?

Probably not

But they deserve a better story then this. So much conflict and drama could've have mined from Jada being named Commissioner or Rafe suing the city for wrongful termination. Anything would have better than Fake Rafe.

So there are so many things wrong with this fakeRafe story, but I'll just start with two on Jada's end.

1.  She was previously married to a guy with DID and doesn't suspect a thing here in regards to a medical diagnosis or even ask Kayla about the after effects of Rafe's coma.

2. She was going to marry Rafe.  He never mentioned he once had an imposter.? Sure, everyone assumes he's dead, but that's a story I would tell my future spouse.

So, okay Jada can't figure it out.  There are multiple people in town including Rafe's own sister who are aware Rafe has a doppelganger and no one suspects a thing.

We all know it's important to suspend belief when watching soaps. We've been doing it for years, and sometimes it's OK.

It's not OK when it goes on this long. That's when we start listing what's wrong, as you and others have done. That's a sign that this should have ended long ago.

I’m here for Shada! Just like I’m here for EJelle. Even though Jada was a bit of a dick today. Elia Cantu has a similar problem to what Lindsey Godfrey used to have. The way she plays it just comes off as so nasty sometimes.

But I’m looking forward to seeing where these storylines and both couples play out. This could all be really good, until Shawn and Belle inevitably reunite. I just wish Shawn and Jada would have been brought together by something better than this Fake Rafe crap.

And yeah, Brandon Beemer’s eyes are beautiful

I still think that Marlena, and Belle’s family in general need to have a much bigger part in Belle’s storyline though. They’re writing her as though EJ never did anything to them. And, if they can waste her with Leo and as Hattie, they could definitely include her in all this.

Xander and Sarah had a nice, romantic Valentine’s Day too. And the gift that Xander gave her was really sweet. I’m still liking the way their storyline is being built up. Philip moving back into the Kiriakis mansion, and Kate’s concerns about that add more dynamics to it. I really hope out this plays out until after Ron is gone. I’d love to see how the new writers handle the reveal and the fallout.

Btw, it’s about time Roman got back from Chicago

And, JJ looked hot

Him and Gabi are good together and I enjoyed their scenes today. The two of them teaming up get EJ could be really interesting, and it could lead to some good conflict for the two of them.

Is it weird to say that I felt bad for EJ today?  His relationship with Belle seems both mature and fun.  I enjoy his scenes with Arnold, and he even humanizes Kristen.  We all know what’s going to happen, and I just hope that they have written a viable way for him to get out of this mess.

It was funny seeing the adults celebrate Valentines after all the focus on Holly and Tate.  I am much more entertained by adult romance than childish relationships.  In particular, I see a real future for Jada and Shawn-D.  I just wish that there were more scenes to establish the relationship between Jada and Belle.  There are no motives to keep their relationships private, and I would appreciate it if they all treated each other like adults.

It will be interesting to see how Xander responds to learning that he's been betrayed by both his family and his wife.  I wish Maggie was more clued in (or at least suspicious).  But, it has been an excellent setup to see Xander be so well socialized, knowing that he is suppressing an anger that is seething to be let loose.

    • The bit with the scarf reminds me of the fabled stuffed animal scene with Rick and Phillip. (That wasn't debunked, was it?)
    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
    • I 100% agree but I think this is due to how the show is structured. It's a one family show which means there are no people in her age range that could be used as friends or contemporaries of her. The show definitely needs a second main family. I am glad someone finally said this. Especially now that the cast is gelling in their roles, he stands out like a sore thumb. No energy, no chemistry with anybody. He is just there.  I thought that was odd as well! The previous scene would've worked better as a tag for the credits.
    • That's the one and only Carrie Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as Susan Piper, a deadly realtor. I don't want to spoil a lot if you ever want to see those episodes. She returns as another character in 2003. I think Grant has aged well and he always did a good job at being ripped without going too far, but he was never entirely my cup of tea either. I did think John Bolger was hot.
    • Totally agree. KKL looks great! It makes the Widge groveling so bizarre. Brooke needs to leave FC and with $B's/Liam's funding launch a rival fashion house with Hope, Rick, Katie and a secret designer. The best scenario is that Rick has been absent because he's been with very much alive C2, who is revealed on the runway as the secret designer. It'll never happen because B&B is comfortable just focusing on FC and the Forresters Marones v. Logans. But it'd been so much more interesting if the Spencers/Logans united.

    • Haha that scarf thing did go on a bit too long, very odd. And what a young Rick!  I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I just never got the physical appeal of Grant Aleksander, but he's definitely a great actor. Who is the older lady around the 8:30 mark, and also ends the episode, alone and in pain? She seems like a really interesting character. I love the smoky voice and sultry, snaky vibe she seems to have.
    • I can't remember exactly but I think she lives in or is part of the cottage story with Carrie. Carrie poisons her in this episode.  I forgot Teresa was on the show. (I see that AI is insisting she wasn't - well they're wrong) Poor Maeve. I can how even she had her limits.
    • It pisses me off that the other Duprees are making this incident all about them as well. They are playing a family of victims, acting as if Ted cheated on all of them. They should be supportive, but not like this. I have a family that makes anything that happens to me personally all about them, and seeing the same thing on TV is rage-inducing.
