Wasn't feeling the Brennan recast today. They should have just had Brennan disappear or get killed off off screen, and brought Chris McKenna in as an entirely new character. Now he has to carry around the Brennan baggage.

Agreed that recasting has probably accelerated the inevitability of writing off the Brennan character. Unless the producers get stubborn and dig in their heels that is..

Those fans are committed to only one thing, Liason. They are dead set against L&L2 also to Liz with Ric. No one but Jason will do. Even when Liz is on more are they happy? NO.

Also they have created this backstory where Lucky was abusive to Liz. They use this to justify their ambivalence against the pairing. I think their rewrite of history is out of thin air. Why couldn't it be fat air?

And bite your tongue about Violet.

My first impression was good but of course I need to see more.

If the departure was very sudden, they may not have had the time to change the scripts. Or maybe Frank just didn't care about making the effort. They will probably just have him on long enough to reveal he was the baddie all along and have Sonny, Jason, Valentin save the day. The main way he might stay is if they finally give up on Sidwell and just offload some of those stories onto him.

Since Franco & Finn had both been discussed, I confess I was not sure. However, I just picked up on the verb "committed" & went from there. If it caused any discomfort, that was not my intent. But, what I posted about IS where they are now.

But it's true, I could go for years without talking about Finn.

Same

He sucked and I'm a fan of the actor.

They should've killed off the character when Valentin was shocking him to death.

Yeah, if I didn't know better, I would say RC was still in the house because that is his thing. But he's over at BTG so I don't know what to say.

Though I wouldn't mind Trina being there for Gio when he finds out. Since she does have experience in that department.

Lord I hope not.

Taste.

I think that the new Brennan fell flat in the role. Brennan's storyline will probably be cut short now. Romance with Carly is probably off now.

Drew told Carly that Jason made Sasha pregnant! The whole town will now know this falsehood.

I don't miss Violet. She can stay away.

I love Lucky and Liz as a couple. Ditto Isaiah and Jordan.

I thought this Jason/Sasha pregnancy story was going to be slightly more organic than what's happening on screen.   Between Cody running around town telling everyone Sasha's business incorrectly and Drew just announcing her pregnancy and baby daddy to a room full of people at a restaurant, I am seriously offended on Sasha's behalf.  This show loves to humiliate Sasha.  She's a grown woman and can take care of herself.   The misogyny on this show never ends.  Sasha doesn't need a man to help her raise a baby.  She has said several times she intends to raise this baby on her own.  It's 2025, not 1955.

Also, Willow and Drew continue to be the worst lol.

It seems like he studied Charles. So I suspect that he's going to take some of his techniques and mannerisms and make them his own...something the best recasts are known to do. Usually it works so I have faith.

See, I read statements like that, and I think: What would happen if Sasha learns that carrying her baby to term poses a risk to her and/or her unborn child?  Would Sasha consider terminating her pregnancy?  Would Jason try to stop her?  Would that compel Sasha to reveal her baby's real father?  And how would Sasha's choice affect everyone around them, once the truth was out?

A potentially worthwhile story, considering the times we live in and the fact that this show is called GENERAL. HOSPITAL.

Then, I remember how skittish TPTB are these days even to mention the word "smashmortion," and I get sad and angry all over again.

    • I know Passions used this trope with Ethan and Sam to drag out the paternity, but GH seems to speed through certain stories while dragging others.

    • Agreed, that there was some strange choices in the episode, especially at the end, but overall, that was some great drama that opens up the potential for so much future storyline. Kat vs. Eva having the most potential, especially over Tomas. I have mixed feelings about Martin/BC though. I thought he did pretty well in scenes with Smitty/MM, but the scenes of him confronting Leslie and of him throwing the books were bad lol she acted circles around him.  It’s similar to what Harding Lemay said about George Reinholt at AW; he could be brilliant in one scene, but then mediocre in the next.
    • I know some of y'all really like Brooke Kerr, and so I've tried to give her a shot, despite her frequent flat line readings and distracted "did I leave the front door unlocked?" facial expressions. But lord, she is so bad at playing a tough-talking badass that I was actually rooting for Brad today to spill the beans to Drew.
    • Googling does tend to ruin it.  For those of us who were teens in the late 1970s and early 1980s, you can't imagine how much fun it was to watch the show in the afternoons.  (It came on right after school.)  There weren't any "spoilers" at the time.  We would always try to anticipate how each crime and each mystery would be resolved, and we were ALWAYS wrong, because the stories are filled with so many weird twists and turns.   The head writer (Henry Slesar) and his dialogue writer (Steve Lehrman) invariably toss genuine clues directly into your face in the most unlikely ways, but then they provide a host of "red herrings" to completely confuse you and send you off on the wrong path.  Once the story reaches its conclusion, all you can think is Why didn't I figure that out weeks ago?  lol
    • Does the vault have the original scene and not the short flashback?
    • I appreciate that you are using AI with the knowledge of it's limitations. Some posters take everything it produces as fact.
    • And of course Mama Ru herself appeared on All My Children.
    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
