Beldner has worked on 2 other shows besides Y&R and started 34 years ago in 1991 and has at least 12 Emmy noms including several wins for AMC and a few for ATWT, and six writers' guild nom with some wins

Jim Harmon Brown has worked on 7 daytime shows plus Y&R twice not to mention Dynasty and has garnered 5 daytime Emmy noms and six writers' guild noms.  Jim is in his 70s and fi core status.

It's likely Y&R as we know Griffith loves to fire veteran writers as he did after the writers' strike.

The real scoop this board has never unearthed is why Amanda Beall was demoted to script writer last November.

Is this a typo or ? ? ? ? ? ?
July 29, 2025 interview with Greg Rikaart.  Regarding DAYS, the article author says "Since scribes Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante have taken over, another side of Leo has emerged."

Author Deanna Barnert is usually accurate. . . but this?

Oh wow.  That's really bad.  LMAO

@VelekaCarruthers Thanks again for keep us updated with those linkedin profiles.  :)

I always thought MVJ's breakdown team was put together in an usual way because she's never wrote breakdowns/been in the "writers room" with any of those breakdown writers at BTG. I'm surprised she didn't bring in any of the BDWs that she worked with at GH.  And then Dunn/Carlivati only taking one year deals to help kick off the show.  Just a weird way to create a team.

Agree and I always thought it was weird to have three white males two of whom have been in soaps since the early 80s as part of the head writing/breakdown team. Perhaps, MVJ and others realized that it might be important to have people of color driving the execution the story. It was not a good look to have 1 person of color (Gregori Martin?) on the head writing team then have all Black script writing staff. To me this perpetuated years and years of industry glass ceiling for people of color in the writers' room.

Hogan Sheffer was one of the only head writers who made an effort to bring in multiple people of color when he had Gibson as breakdown writer, Lynn Martin, Judy Tate and Susan Dansby on staff.

The current state of affairs on the other soaps is abysmal for people of color.
B&B has Lawrence St. Victor writing less than half the scripts of white script writers
Y&R fired Lynn Martin and Simone Hawthorne and cut Susan Banks once a week scripts to split them with white Griffith assistant, Madelaine Phillips.
GH has one Black breakdown writer, Nigel Campbell
Days has Jamey whose breakdowns run through the end of the year and they just hired Simone Hawthorne as script writer

So, it'll be interesting to see the final BTG Season 2 writers' list

So far it's

MVJ and TT

Teresa Zimmerman/Sara Bibel/Jamey Giddens

Susan Dansby
Cheryl Davis/Danielle Page/Skyy Sandifer/Judy Tate/Jazmen Brown

Thanks @Toups for that comment. I assume @Errol would agree that it's an error.

I've seen some places elsewhere online where it's being discussed as a scoop instead of as an error, making assumptions that A&P replaced F&C on Days.  But it's actually just wording from the article author and not a quote from Rikaart.

Perhaps the article author googled "women writing team who replaced Carlivati" and got as a result the women who replaced him on GH?

Same day. July 29, 2025.
Lynette Rice for Deadline, another typo. She refers to the exiting BTG writer as "Frank Carlivati".
But posting here because Michele Val Jean confirms what we already knew. Nice to see the quote from her about the exiting BTG writers.
https://deadline.com/2025/07/beyond-the-gates-creator-michele-val-jean-interview-1236472528/

DEADLINE: You only have Frank Carlivati working in your writers room for a short time. Why couldn’t he stick around for longer?

VAL JEAN: Ron, Bob Guza and Chris Dunn all agreed to come on to help me launch the series. Now they're off to do other things. There's no animosity. I’m so grateful to have had their knowledge and their humor and their contribution, and I can't say enough about them.

Archive of original version of the Deadline article, July 29:
https://archive.is/MNLuX

I noticed another error in the original of the same Deadline article which has MVJ referring to casting scoop as an "edition" to the cast instead of as an "addition".
That has since been corrected by Deadline!

But the "Frank" error is still there.

CBS Television City

e.c.hendrickson (Elizabeth Hendrickson)

After 24 years in front of the camera, I’m thrilled to be able to tell you all that I’ve stepped behind it.

I’ve spent the past 18 months up in the booth, shadowing, observing & absorbing — not knowing if it would ever turn into something more. There were hurdles but I kept showing up, paying attention, and fell in love with the process.

On Tuesday the 5th my first episode will air. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did directing it. The privilege (and pressure :) of working with two giants of our genre, Eric Braeden and Melody Thomas Scott, on my first day was not lost on me.

I have been supported every step of the way by my Y&R family…the amazing cast and crew.

I have deep gratitude for so many people from Y&R, Sony and CBS.

Huge thanks to Josh Griffith, our Executive Producer and Head Writer, who greenlit my goals from the start. Danielle Unger, Renée Villafan, Matt Olsen, Jonathan Fishman, Vivianne Gundaker, Robbin Phyllips, Matt Kane, Jill Farren Phelps…..It took support and determination from so many.. and I got it. And to Owen Renfroe — the best teacher and mentor I could’ve asked for — thank you for your time, wisdom and belief in me.
