And don't forget she was with Jack.

Same.

IKR!!! I've been saying that since she was introduced. She does not do bland well at all. But psycho is something she can pull off. It is part of the reason I hope she keeps that part of her when the Jordan storyline is over. And yes, Ik...I"m behind. lol.

Josh seems averse to writing long term couples. You know the soap template of 2 characters fighting to be together with some interlopers to deal with, getting together for a while and then some obstacle to break them up etc. At least 2 years of story.

I agree.  There are no love stories on this show, and haven't been for years.  He just randomly puts couples together with little drama, they stay together for about a year, then they break-up and move on to someone else.  No drama, no angst, no heart-break.  How can a "successful" soap opera writer refuse to write long-term love stories?  Aren't soaps supposed to be all about love stories?  It's nuts.

Unless it's because Josh Morrow has personal issues with Sharon Case, or he thinks reuniting Nick and Sharon translates into taking a back seat to their now-grown children's dramas, I don't understand what his deal is.  You're fifty years old, bruh.  It's time to leave the keg parties to the next generation.

I don't think he's against it and does believe in a future reunion, however, also made the statement that they are not Victor & Nikki. Per an interview with Today (June 2024):

❝ It’s been quite some time since Nick and Sharon have been together, yet some die-hard fans are always hoping for a reunion. Morrow certainly understands and reassures us that the pair will inevitably get back together one day.

However, he's quick to add that Nick and Sharon have a complicated history and have both "hurt each other deeply." Because of this, he doesn't foresee the couple sailing off into the sunset together one day. "They’re not Nikki and Victor," he says. ❞

That's what I'm saying!  Y&R has tried and failed to pair JM with so many other ladies on-screen that I've literally lost count.  It's time to admit that, while Nick and Sharon might not be Victor and Nikki, she's absolutely the best he can do for a mate.

Putting Sharon and Nick back together is not the worst idea in the world, especially in light of the stories they've been given in the past few years.

A lot of them could have been played with the couple together.

Sharon's breast cancer (w/o the useless Rey marriage) Adam's return, Faith's bullying, Mariah surrogacy, various Victor dramas, Cameron's return etc

For sure, Sharon's bout with breast cancer should've provided the impetus for a Nick/Sharon reunion; and if I were HW'ing the show today, I'd have her cancer recur with the same purpose: to put them back together (this time, for good).

Definitely her over Giggly Heffa any day of the week.

And even with that, I can't think of a Nick pairing that I felt could have gone the distance outside of her and Sharon. I mean has he another pairing that has stood the test of time like those two?  And this is coming from someone who didn't like the idea of Nick/Sally but watching it play out (and the fact that JM put in outside of work gym time and it showed), I didn't mind it at all.

I agree. There's been so many teases with them that I've lost count. But I'm used to them getting close and then an abrupt left turn happens.

lol. You would know better than I. My system crashed last Sunday so I'm sure I might have missed some episodes. I think my last episodes was the Damian reveal last Monday (sidenote-does anyone know if they followed up on the reveal that week?) and then the mundane Thursday/Friday episodes. I would totally say skip last Friday outright.

I only watched Tuesday of this week so far and yes, I have been enjoying how HE has been playing her psycho version of Claire again for sure. From some of the comments here and a slight spoiler, this week sounds like it's going to be a good one.

    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
    • I 100% agree but I think this is due to how the show is structured. It's a one family show which means there are no people in her age range that could be used as friends or contemporaries of her. The show definitely needs a second main family. I am glad someone finally said this. Especially now that the cast is gelling in their roles, he stands out like a sore thumb. No energy, no chemistry with anybody. He is just there.  I thought that was odd as well! The previous scene would've worked better as a tag for the credits.
    • That's the one and only Carrie Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as Susan Piper, a deadly realtor. I don't want to spoil a lot if you ever want to see those episodes. She returns as another character in 2003. I think Grant has aged well and he always did a good job at being ripped without going too far, but he was never entirely my cup of tea either. I did think John Bolger was hot.
    • Totally agree. KKL looks great! It makes the Widge groveling so bizarre. Brooke needs to leave FC and with $B's/Liam's funding launch a rival fashion house with Hope, Rick, Katie and a secret designer. The best scenario is that Rick has been absent because he's been with very much alive C2, who is revealed on the runway as the secret designer. It'll never happen because B&B is comfortable just focusing on FC and the Forresters Marones v. Logans. But it'd been so much more interesting if the Spencers/Logans united.

    • Haha that scarf thing did go on a bit too long, very odd. And what a young Rick!  I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I just never got the physical appeal of Grant Aleksander, but he's definitely a great actor. Who is the older lady around the 8:30 mark, and also ends the episode, alone and in pain? She seems like a really interesting character. I love the smoky voice and sultry, snaky vibe she seems to have.
    • I can't remember exactly but I think she lives in or is part of the cottage story with Carrie. Carrie poisons her in this episode.  I forgot Teresa was on the show. (I see that AI is insisting she wasn't - well they're wrong) Poor Maeve. I can how even she had her limits.
    • It pisses me off that the other Duprees are making this incident all about them as well. They are playing a family of victims, acting as if Ted cheated on all of them. They should be supportive, but not like this. I have a family that makes anything that happens to me personally all about them, and seeing the same thing on TV is rage-inducing.
    • There are the makings of good Emmy reels in these past couple of episodes, but the industry is still going to favor even the most mediocre stories and performances on the older soaps. And with the pressure from the government over race I can see the academy shutting out Beyond The Gates to avoid criticism from the administration and the far right media.
