I don't know that I agree - I think Cameron's vibe is more that of an endlessly genial TV show host, which in part comes from his spending years as on-air talent for shows in the Access Hollywood/Extra genre. That can certainly come off very plastic and artificial but I've never found him cold or unpleasant except in Ryan Lavery's worst years. More smarmy, smooth or just plain cheesy. But I do think he still has a lot of charm when utilized well. Or he can easily come off sleazy and skeevy, which Drew is clearly supposed to now.

Fans took to his Drew early on when he was rescued in Greece and before he became Carly's latest sanctimonious enabler; that's when they quickly turned on him, in a self-righteous role that did not play to CM's specific strengths. The reaction to Mulcahey's Drew Q last year was certainly mixed but it was also somewhat baked in due to his spending several years as Carly's howling purseholder. Which is all he ever was to this creative team: A replacement part for Jason.

I'm not so sure. The show is very clearly painting Drew and Willow as in the wrong in this story, and is presenting Drew specifically as the supreme heavy and baddie, and GH has very little appetite for long-term, more organic 'bad' or ne'er-do-well characters or schemers who don't come from the outside like Sidwell or Cyrus to ramble on through endless stories that go nowhere. Drew is a more organic outgrowth of an antagonist than those cartoons, which means he may need to go, and Cameron neither comes from OLTL nor do I think he is super cheap. Which makes me think he will go soon. Do I think FV might hold on to him longer out of sympathy re: the fires and his personal struggles? Yes. Would it be the first time a soap has cut an actor in a sad or inconvenient IRL situation? Nope.

I think Cameron comes across pleasantly enough in his personal interviews, and maybe in his TV-movies, but I notice the same comments about Drew that I often did about Ryan - abusive, cold, nasty. And both when they were written as "good."

Cameron saying Drew and Willow are the new L&L is why I'm not sure he is going anywhere, but you're right that money may be the big factor.

Just a few things.

Eden, surely that's a wig.

Sonny, surely someone has been keeping count, is this his 5th attack where he's grabbed at his chest & then gone down? Or 4th?

Loved Kristina's sarcasm when Drew whined, "Are Carly & Sonny harassing you?" & she replies, "Yeah, from way over there!"

Otherwise, Tracy, Tracy, Tracy!!!! And, more Tracy. And, in regard to her, amazed that Drew said "prison". City jail cell does not = prison!

Well, Drew was a prick to Nina in 2023-early '24. But the whole 'abuser Drew' thing the Sonny/Nina stans tried to put over on Twitter was always just astroturfing to try to stop the Drew/Nina plotline from happening during the brief Mulcahey era. Ryan Lavery OTOH is another story.

And I read that comment a bit differently in the press myself - I felt he was more saying 'you never know!' and playing devil's advocate in the interview, which was largely about how unsympathetic both characters have recently become. I believe he said he enjoyed playing the heavy. I didn't think it was a serious investment in them being the new Luke and Laura on his part.

And it is plainly obvious the show does not regard them that way, or as any kind of heroes or root-for love. They could not be treated more as a bad couple doing bad things courtesy of master manipulator Drew. That's in the scripts and the narrative.

-- Kind of hard to believe Tracy would be dragged to the police station over "Where are the kids?" I mean, does the system really move this way, especially when someone as rich as Tracy is involved? Anna was embarrassing.

Still, it gave Jane Elliott another reason to do some sterling work. When she's on the screen,  there's no reason to look anywhere else. MEK just disappeared.

-- ANOTHER ending with Sonny in heart peril? Are you kidding me? As if anyone believes it will go anywhere (we want it to go).

Jane Elliot was eating today; she clearly said, "I want to have fun!" and she got her wish.

Yes, she did, lol!

I honestly cannot recall a time when I saw JE phoning in her performance.  I never saw her do that on GH, or GL, or AMC, or DAYS, or THE CITY.  I never saw her do that on any primetime show she's appeared on, or in any movie.  I didn't even see her do that on "Electra Woman and Dyna Girl" or A NEW DAY IN EDEN - and lemme tell ya, it takes BALLS to show up for trash like those two shows and appear not the least bit embarrassed, lol.

Before Marty had nothing, basically but this time he had a court order. And, then, Tracy jerked back away from the cop, making it that much worse.

Are you sure? Some of us are seeing something between those two! And, the last thing she did was throw her paper airplane right at his face. What would a ship name be? Macy? Trartin? QuarterGrey? Greymaine?

Elliot always knows when the work is to be done, and she does it so effortlessly. She is a national treasure.

In one of her interviews with Michael Logan he asked about bad material and Jane said it’s her job to make it work, and she doesn’t judge the story. And Tony Geary in one of his interviews said they were sitting around before taping started and he said how bored he was. Jane replied don’t worry, Luke isn’t.

She gets it. JE has had many periods of spotty/bad writing, and she never appears as anything except fully engaged as Tracy.

I know Genie Francis has her detractors, but to me she always shows up too, even in bad stories. I don’t see her onscreen phoning it in when she plays Laura. Both of them sat through Geary doing bad work.

The last couple of weeks have been fun to watch, and Tracy is a huge reason why.

In that same interview she said that Jane hated things like the red carpet, but that it was okay, because Tracy didn't hate them at all!

The show is good. In 2023 the show was only good for four months. In 2024 the show was good for seven months. 2025 is off to a good start.
