IIRC Gio came on simply very sheltered about Sonny's life, grateful to him and expressing that he didn't know much about Sonny's business or why people hated him. This was just as Sonny was about to beat down Dex before Kristina's eyes at the Chase wedding.

Yeah, that at least is still clear...her love for Jason and Carly.

They would probably mess it up, but one can dream.

Yay! Good to hear.

That might be because most writers...or at least their ideas...do have certain characteristics that can stand out...for better or for worse.

I've mentioned for a while things that I liked and things that I don't like in the writing style since the New/Old Writers have taken over. And as the weeks and months have gone by, some characteristics do stand out. And I thought it was very interesting over the last day or so, episodes that have EK's name at the top of the episode have a certain bit of characteristics to them (for me scenes with more emotional resonance as I said yesterday) versus when CVE's have a certain bit of characteristics which happen to be most (note...not all) of the things that have bugged me a bit (as I call it the wacka wacka slapsticky humor) about the style in the writing. But that's me with my writer hat on and picking on me not picking up on that before the last day or so. But my posts stand for themselves so I ain't about to go over every detail of my reasoning since it's just a page or two back. Liberty was simply responding. And I also thought it would be nice now that the New/Old Writers have been there for a good minute to have a discuss on them and their 'individual' episodes so to speak.

Regardless of the breakdown writers and script writers, the plotting is still noticeable enough to be noticed IMHO. So depending on writers' name does make a difference.

Grateful, unless he is involved with She of the Beautiful Dark Locks, I want to say that I'm in the DisLike Sonny crew...but I will admit he only seems to get me out of that crew when he's in scenes with Dante ONLY.

It probably was. It was the first time they gave Gio something different to play and it gave the first sign of organic conflict between Gio and Trina if the writers were planning on putting them together which is why those scenes stood out. Gio definitely idolizes Sonny while Trina's friendship with Ava runs deep. Once Gio learned the Sonny/Ava history, he felt a way about Ava getting him to work at the art gallery when he was looking for exposure.

Your mom ain't the only one who swoons. And like Antoyne said...when Isaiah actor gets that look...mmmm *swoons*

I admit that as much as it seem like Drew is being written into a corner, CM is making him very love to hate. CM hasn't played Drew like Drew was since he appeared in that prison with all that scruff. So if they are going to do something with Drew....at least we are getting Drew Q. And there was some development to this point. And yes, CM has great antagonistic chemistry with SB's Jason. Love that the simmer it had throughout the year has finally started to boil over and the Qs are right in the middle of it. Then again...whoever wins against Jason?

I think Mulcahey had recrafted him into being kind of the political/business-mindeed Quartermaine operator and rakish, somewhat gray rogue character, but not a full-on heel as he's rapidly become now under the returning team. Both iterations work here and Cameron plays them well, but I do think Drew's likely to join Sam in the hereafter very soon. Which is too bad IMO, but unsurprising. This show always knows how to squander good opportunities.

Agree & also agree with your presumed perspective that quite a bit about this writing team IS NOT CLEAR. I find them confounding, perplexing & downright confusing.

Right! Or right? Anyway, yes, likely they would mess up fill-in-the-blank. But, you'd think a Gio/Trina/Kai triangle would write itself!!

I am one who doesn't know what it is you're referencing with this "wacka wacka" phrase. In case you'd like to explain, here's a chance. But, if you'd rather not, that's okay, too.

Well, yes, that would make me hate Sonny   Lucky for me no one currently involved in running or writing this show cares about Brenda at all, so I am not too worried about it.

I get sick of Sonny and the same old storylines, the same old romances, him constantly getting away with multiple crimes, blaming his poor decisions on others, etc.  I just don't hate him and hope one day the show turns the character around.

    • Exactly.  I think Eden is a competent actress.  She is just not suited to be the heroine lead she is.  She lacks charisma and comes off unlikeable and smug.  In a lot of ways she reminds me of Julie Marie Berman's Lulu until they reworked the character a bit.
    • I find when they let Joss be mini Carly, she truly shines as the daughter I would imagine Laura Wright’s version of Carly would have. Not so much Sarah or TB’s but she’s perfect to me as LW’s mini-me.
    • I wouldn't want to see Felicia or Quinn or killed off. Felicia kept some of us going during some of the bad patches. P&G were not going to invest in Quinn or a family for her especially not with MDP as headwriter. AW had all the potential and P&G allowed it go by the wayside even before MDP got there. P&G and NBC never cared. Look at the indifferent way the Lawrences were written. P&G and execs knew Quinn had fans. They just didn't care and had pretend amnesia. It's reminiscent of the whole Maureen debacle on GL. There should have been outcry at the idea of Donna being killed off. It was an idiotic idea. The same way with Frankie. JFP should never have been allowed to waste so much money on that ridiculous hospital set and the new opening she lifted from ER. I did like the closing theme so there's that.
    • Hahaha are you doing a '93 rewatch?? Wow - so Reva was married to the father and his two sons. I guess I can't be surprised with GL and the citizens of SF. I'm currently watching Dinah and Blake, who are both each other's stepmothers AND stepdaughters... you have Alan-Michael who date Dinah, married Blake, and then married both sisters Harley and Lucy... I could go on and go.  Someone, maybe you, told me very early on that GL is very incestuous and I 100% see it now haha.
    • The Cosby Show recorded in the same studio in Brooklyn. AW had had more black characters for a few years after Quinn first appeared. Not all of them lasted a long time, but we had the Morgans (Bob, Henrietta, RJ, Mary Sue), Quinn's brother Ed, Abel Marsh and his twin Leo Mars, Roy Bingham, Lily, and finally Carter and Grant Todd.
