As great as it was seeing Laura and Lucky share scenes again, having Laura make excuses for her deadbeat son for most of it, was not what I had in mind.

I've only been watching a few weeks, but this whole murder plot is boring and uninteresting. Can we wrap it up soon?

Laura really did go overboard propping Lucky.  It wasn't ideal.  Laura is sort of like that with Nikolas too, so it's not entirely out of character.   It was nice to see GF and JJ together though.

Sonny/Carly scenes are so boring.  At least Laura Wright has lovely hair I can look while I am zoning out.  How on earth did Sonny think this was going to end?  Well?  It still is unbelievable the show is pushing the narrative that murdering Jagger's was the only option Sonny had.

Very smart move by Olivia trying to get the word out about Lulu's condition.  I mean we all know who the donor will most likely be, but at least that was proactive.

The Jason/Diane scenes were boring too.  I know someone said CH wears a wig, but I am not sure she does.  That's just a horribly unflattering hairstyle lol.

10-7

I loved every minute of it!!! I too am shocked.

But first of all THANK YOU to wardrobe!!! I don't know whom idea it was to put CD in tight form-fitting jeans, but that bubble was perfection. lol. So were ALL the camera angles. And keep in mind, I don't even like CD, but he was looking good today. lol.

Everything about Lucas's return has been good, but this was just next level for me. I literally gasped when Willow and Wiley saw Lucas. It took a moment right before they saw each other that I remember the Wiley storyline that we were just talking about here, but my heart went out to Lucas and VH played that so well. Meanwhile, YES to Maxie and Lucas!!! They had such good chemistry and a banter between them that I loved. I definitely want more scenes between them. And awwww at Lucas at Bobbie's grave.

And Aidan coming out to Lucky. Awwww...those were some cute scenes. It made me think of me coming out to my own father. And double awwww at the Triple L reference. And hehe at Terry already knowing about Aidan before his father. Also resonated.

Okay, I liked the Holly/Brennan scene. But this part of her storyline continues to play for me like it will be a swan song for her and Robert. But I'm enjoying all parts of it. The delayed in them meeting. Mac having issues with it which I can understand since Robert has made a home in PC and isn't running around so he gets to see his brother. And his brother has a love in town. Meanwhile, Diane finally got told. lol. Or perhaps it's just a story that isn't completely waka waka humor with the vets and it comes across very grown-up. Adult.

I could care less for the Violet storyline.

And I love Liz got the coda. Though sadden it was for the next twist in Lucky's storyline...the reveal he is NOT a match for Lulu. Le sigh. And so it begins...

“This can’t be how it ends for Sonny.” That one line from the brain dead Hitman summed up why it’s starting to feel like I’m back to hate watching this show. These are the leads of the show talking about a cold blooded murder we saw on screen.

Some on Twitter were talking about how Lucky and Jason have failed as returns because of the lack of any consequence they faced from the people they left behind. They mentioned Felicia's return in comparison. I thought to myself the main reason for that is because the show had no use for Felicia by that time, as others like Luke tended to face little to no consequence for years of deadbeat, selfish actions, but I do see what they mean.

I think Lucky's current arc, however weakly executed, is about becoming a better parent and father for his family (and Liz), though. Jason is never going to be capable of that so (particularly after Mulcahey exited) they've just entirely elided that issue that he came on dealing with.

There are a couple fanbases very invested in making JJ's return a failure but the performances are still strong and he's still getting consistent praise, which is more than we can say for Steve. I don't think anybody was served well by spending weeks in those bare rooms playing cards, but that is typical Frank, Van Etten etc. nonsense over the last 5-10 years. I think things with Lucky will continue to settle onscreen, and I'm pleased Becky is at the forefront again.

It's funny really. It started from a fall out of a window and now almost all of the momentum has been lost while everyone is treating Wagger like he was Stefano Dimera in his actions rather than the fact that Sonny messed up yet again.

It's Jagger was evil. Sonny and Jason are good people. That's all I'm getting from this writing.

Jason and Lucky are dead beat dads but hey they hate themselves. So we should feel pity for them. They try.

Interesting.  I didn't even think of Felicia's return.  It's just usual GH misogyny that Felicia's absence was greater because she was the mom.  Maxie and others did give Frisco a hard time too.  In some ways I can understand the Felicia thing though.  Emotions were very raw since her daughter was just brutally murdered.  She's redeemed herself though.

With Luke I feel like it was always, "lol, that's just Luke.  Everyone's trying to box him in as a family man and it's not in his nature."   As if Laura held a gun to his head and made him procreate.

Jason and Lucky are getting passes here, but I do think they at least acknowledge some of their failings while characters like Luke didn't even seem to care.

That's one of the reasons I grew to detest Luke - the queasy and impossible mix of how we aren't meant to care because he's so fun yet all the pity parties he and others threw for him. At least Lucky and Jason do have some regrets, even if the show hasn't done enough with them.

    • Beverlee was on a whole other level from Kim. It's not like they were in competition with each other. I get the feeling that Kim had a slight problem with the super-professional, serious cast members who just wanted everyone to be prepared and do the work, as she seems to like having fun on set. (She's made a few cracks about Chris Bernau being like that). Bev was definitely one of those. But they didn't work together that much. Yeah, they made her manic and also much weaker. She always had a vulnerability, but wanting to kill herself over that guy? No way. Not only that, he didn't leave her! She insisted he marry Maeve. When they did the tribute to Bert/Charita, the compilation of scenes with her showed how much the cast had been almost totally turned over in a relatively short period of time. Nearly every shot was of her by herself because most people she had worked with had been fired, left or been replaced. I assume they couldn't show her with people who hadn't been replaced, like Don Stewart, Elvera Roussel, or Robert Newman because they would have had to pay them for using their clips. It's dreadful to watch. Like she had no connection to the current show.

    • A little too much focus on Chad and Cat today but I enjoyed the episode. I have a feeling that Jennifer’s gonna get dumped on though, even though I think that her anger is completely understandable and justified. And honestly, Ron is finally gone; Abigail can come back now.  But, welcome back, Anna! It was nice seeing Carrie have scenes with her mother. Christie Clark and Leann Hunley have never really had that many scenes together and to see them have them now is really nice. I’m glad that both of them were there to comfort Marlena too. Their words were definitely the thing that Marlena needed to hear. Btw, with all this talk of Noah, does it mean that he’s gonna be introduced soon? Amy, revealing that John changed her flat tire many years ago seemed a little random though. I would rather she have said something about how everybody in Salem knows of John Black because of how he was always such a hero. But at the same time, her story also showed what a great guy John was.  I liked Kate’s scenes with Philip too, and her promise to get back at Xander for what he did. And since we didn’t see JPL in the bed, did he need some time off or something? And yeah, everything involving ‘One Stormy Night’ still seems very Ron-like to me.
    • The second photo featuring the late John Spencer is from the Law & Order episode, "Prescription For Death", which was the (second) pilot/first episode all the way back in 1990! He played the father of a daughter that had gone to the ER for a mere sore throat but ended up dead because the doctor on call was drunk and had given her medication that she had an adverse reaction to, after receiving some other medication. So, he will always have that great distinction in addition to The West Wing. (The first pilot, "Everybody's Favorite Bagman", was filmed in 1988! The show was offered to CBS, but they passed. In syndication, it is oddly placed as the sixth episode of Season 1. And Roy Thinnes played DA Alfred Wentworth there. When NBC picked up the show two years later, Thinnes declined to return, and that's how we got Steven Hill's DA Adam Schiff.)
    • exactly. I can understand schadenfreude if it were real, but a lot of this is just an engineered distraction.
    • Days of our Lives S60E204 – Thursday, June 5, 2025 Okay, today’s episode was kind of boring. It was nice seeing Jack and Jen back, but they wasted an entire episode on Jen chatting with Julie - one scene would’ve been enough. Also, why didn’t Jack and Jen go comfort Marlena? And wouldn’t a flashback with Jack, Jen, and John have been great? Maybe something from the Cruise of Deception era? Bottom line - it feels like once John’s memorial is over and the returning fan favorites leave Salem… the show’s going to be dull again.
    • Everything with Elon and Trump is a stunt. If people, and the sycophantic press, are talking about their "feud," they are not talking about Republican plans to gut Medicare, Medicaid, and the ACA.
    • I can't fully remember, but I don't think they tried to get Beth Chamberlin back. I think Laibson/McTavish likely saw Beth as old news and wanted to move Philip on; either that or have her return only when Philip was closely tied to a new woman. Thanks as always for these recaps. I think I had stopped watching around this time and mostly kept up by reading in the soap magazines. Bridget's degradation was horrible to watch, as the character had grown so much over the years and was clearly regressed just to be a foil for a "hot" couple viewers had zero investment in.
    • Having the majority of the cast on those low numbers is no way to tell story. And just 2 dayplayers for the month. So sad for the #1 soap.
