Off to a decent start.

Nate and Audra coming out into the open with their relationship and the reactions were good. Of course, Devon would have an issue. Meanwhile, Kyle and Summer SCHEMING TOGETHER to get rid of Audra could be interesting.

I don't like Sharon's storyline, but I am always here for Sharon reading people down. Hopefully, this is the next turn in the story, and there will be some movement.

The main drama was Billy vs Chance. I loved Chance continuing to stand up for himself, though I felt that Billy had a point. However, so did Chance. And this is where Jill not being around is not helping because I don't feel Jill would fire Lily, either. And even if she did, Jill would want someone there to take care of Billy's bad impulses. And that's what most of what Billy does is. Impulses. On the good side, since I wanted Chance back as a cop, I have no problem with that. Just...WRITE FOR HIM. Are we overdue a murder mystery?

Well said as always my friend!

I’m a little mixed on Nate and Audra as I wasn’t entirely sure if I wanted their dynamic to completely change but you know what, if it causes Devon heartburn then it’s well worth it lol.

I like Nate and Audra, but have felt she did the pot stirring vixen better while using Kyle as her errand boy/play thing while also sleeping with REAL men. But if they can be a formidable power team I wouldn’t mind that at all. Or Nate goes back to medicine after Audra sets him up his own practice and cheers her business acumen from the sidelines would be fine.

I’m glad Chance had finally been given something interesting to do long overdue. The relationship with Summer is a good start but him going back to being a cop would be perfect.

I like the idea of a murder mystery haha. I’d say let Billy die lol but I don’t want another Abbott death on the show so I propose Phyllis dies for real this time after pissing everyone off in her position of what Billy has for her at Chancellor.

You're not alone on being mixed on Nate/Audra. It's funny since that was who she wanted to shag when she came to town. And now she got him. lol. I liked that they see each other. But Audra has Sally for those friendship moments...well if they would allow Sally out of Billy's orbit. But I'm open to them. They could be a scheme team themselves. But I also loved Audra like how you mentioned, manipulating all them bois and men. :)

Yeah, I have enjoyed very much seeing more of CF and Chance. But outside of Pandemic Chance, I've enjoyed all the actors who have played Chance. And as a Chancellor, I just feel there should be so much for him to do.

IKR. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't JG always writing some form of murder mysteries when he wrote for other soaps or was that just in his partnerships with Michael Malone who definitely leaned in that direction?

9-10

'Danny didn't want you. Nick didn't want you.'

Oooooooooooo SHADE!!!! lol. Even if it's because she's off her meds, it was great to see Sharon on a rampage. First, Lucy and Daniel. Then sending Heather running for the hill. And now Giggly Heffa. lmao. And Giggly Heffa, of all people, calling anyone crazy. Whatever hoe.

And what is making it funny is that Sharon isn't wrong about Lucy, either. Since this Faith/Lucy storyline has started and progressed, it really has been giving SINGLE WHITE FEMALE. So the detour with Cassieque accident was a decent way to end that. But Lucy seems more obsessed with Faith than ever. Perhaps we are going to get that after all.

I couldn't care less about Connor's issues since it's more about Chelesa.

That said...I loved seeing Mariah and that green suit she had on. Same for what Sally was wearing. Sharon. I even loved Phyllis's outfit.

I'm on last week, and the one positive: undoing Chance quitting the police force. Having zero law enforcement on this canvas has been... weird, and disappointing but it feels like this is course-correcting done right.

I just can't see what Chance will do if there is no police set and the action scenes will all be narrated from the coffeehouse though.

Fingers crossed if this is course correcting that it leads to a story for him.

I don't know what JG did on OLTL.
I will say this:  Josh Griffith had expressed an interest in books -- novels -- that had serial killer stories and spy stories.  I remember this because, years ago, on his defunct Facebook page, he reviewed novels from other authors that had such themes.  From reading that FB page, it seemed (to me) that JG was into the macabre and spies with secret plotting.
So when Ken Corday wanted something for the DAYS 50th anniversary, Griffith pitched his idea, and we got serial killer Ben killing Will Horton.
Griffith also wrote the Yo Ling/ Winterthorne spy stuff for DAYS.

Edit to add:  Josh Griffith website with novels he wrote:
https://darkstreetpress.com/josh-griffith/
He did co-author something with Michael Malone.

If only it made any sense for Billy to hire Phyllis.

He's just gone through all this turmoil at AC and got rid of Lily and Chance. And their replacement is PHYLLIS, who he knows is a complete mess and disaster?

We hear a retelling of Phyllis' resume, which means hearing the Grand Phoenix was a "world-class hotel" and that Phyllis is a tech genius. So now she can help run AC? LOL.  OK.

Once again, we're living in a world where these huge businesses have no one working for them who can replace someone who's been (ridiculously) fired.

No wonder the ratings have tanked.

Nothing makes sense on this damn show and it hasn't since covid. It's like JG has lost his mind and is incapable of finishing stories at all.

As a huge fan of MS, I'm just glad to see her move in another direction instead of being written as a mother hovering over her stupid adult kids all the time.

See? I was thinking he leaned that way as well. And remembering that yes, he was behind The Necktie Killer story and I know OLTL had serial killers as well...I'm surprised he has not done anything here. With Chance as Hero to boot.

@TaoboiGriffith got canned over at Days for telling a very offensive rape story in early 2016.

I think his first year back had some purpose and momentum even if it was setting the show back to pick up where he left off in 2013. But COVID hit and it seemed to throw him completely off track, plus the Kansas retcon was a disaster he quickly moved on from it once the story ended.

Overall I think Griffith was a lightning in the bottle/one trick pony.

He was involved (but not solo) with one successful era of a defunct OLTL over 30 years ago. Everything else since including from his brief time at BEACH, his work on ATWT, Y&R and Days stints just had imploded one by one.

Even though I’m not entirely familiar with that era, I know OLTL was definitely successful around that time. I guess Malone is more so responsible for that success or else there would be no reason why Griffith could be this g*dawful.

-- Chelsea's apology to Billy for cheating on him is to bake him cookies??? From con woman to baker....

-- That kid playing Connor isn't very good. He's a kid pretending to be an actor.

-- Connor now spends his time telling everyone his OCD has given him special powers to know what's going on with others. The kid is a psychic.

-- Can we get Connor some friends or an activity instead of constantly worrying about who his parents are screwing?

  • Member

MG and MCE also haven’t shared an ounce of chemistry in the last 5 years so I don’t understand why all of the sudden Connor is trying to push his parents back together.

Billy and Chelsea also have had a largely off screen relationship to begin with so at this point does anyone care except for maybe one person in the control room?

Crazy Sharon’s story is a mess and it’s also depressing. Unlike the Ashley DID story there isn’t much entertainment value in seeing Cameron taunt Sharon. I mean Ashby and Case are doing their best with the material to at least keep me somewhat interested but still when people asked for a story for Sharon I don’t think THIS is what anyone had in mind.

Obviously Ric Hearst is busy at the moment and no clue what Cibrian is up to these days  but I at least think if anything Sharon being haunted by anyone for her 30th anniversary it should’ve been Matt.
