The Finn/Poppy sh*t that Bell did this year. Nasty AF and a child resulted from it? I swear he has a incest fetish

Horrifying.

The storyline that takes the crown in this category (inappropriate) is Stephanie orchestrating... a completely unknown creep to rape her arch-nemesis Brooke. You could try to excuse Stephanie by saying she did not tell him to rape her... but you can't. She GAVE HIM A KEY to another woman's house when she knew that woman would be alone and vulnerable. This is a crime (what Stephanie did a la Ghislaine Maxwell) that puts people in prison for years. In the episodes before that horrific rape, Stephanie was taunting Brooke how she was a slut, a whore... and how she would basically f-ck anybody that has a penis. She told the same type of stuff to this creep, who in his crazy head decided that this is a direct invitation to do what he did.

This is the storyline that completely destroyed Stephanie. The character never recovered. In 5 years she would be gone. I cringe just thinking what Susan Flannery must have been feeling during this period. It didn't help that Stephanie's physical abuse towards characters like Brooke and Donna... was escalating beyond logic. She would regularly choke, slap them, throw knives and threaten them with guns. What was once a multi-faceted troubled controlling woman... was now... a one-dimensional mafia hitman that liked to bully blondes.

It gave us this scene of Brooke, demanding Stephanie's head on a "silver platter".

Passions:

It seemed as though every female and male character was sexually assaulted... and the Vincent/Julian situation topped the list of most inappropriate.

Days:

Kristen tried to use a mirror to hypnotize John into sleeping with her in an effort to get pregnant (in a illogical attempt at covering up her miscarriage).

B & B:

Brooke having sex with Hope's boyfriend outside as the two are wearing masks.

ATWT:

Dani hooking up with Craig.. even calling him daddy (the creepy thing is that Craig had originally believed she was his child when she was first born).

AW:

Marley becoming obsessed with breaking up Jake and Vicky... not because she was trying to protect her twin from potentially suffering the same fate as her when she was married to Jake... but because she wanted to get back together with Jake (the man that cheated on her, and also raped her).

GL:

Holly and Roger having sex in 1993 and eventually had the two end up in a romantic relationship again in 1994.  After the way he had raped her, held her hostage, and then basically haunted her when he came back the dead in 1989... it just seemed wrong.

Really? I'd say that they have a great deal more that could be said about them. I know it's not a new thing, first cousins, half-first cousins, kissing cousins, the thing is taboo or not, they were incredibly popular. You cannot say that about most of these inappropriate storylines.

There was absolutely nothing going on at GL at that time, so of course they were popular with whomever was left watching that train wreck of a show (I have to admit I still tuned in out of habit.) For the dumbed down audience watching it...it was a typical bad boy with a heart of gold with the good bland girl, and that coupled with people think TP was the next Pacino...was enough the for soap mags to push it.

The fact remains that Jonathon tricked Tammi to have sex with her own cousin, to do damage to her family. If they had ever had a scene where Tams confronted him for that and he admitted his wrong doing okay. But Kriezman had such a hard on for TP and Jon, that he never had to accept any consquences and he always came out on top.

I'm not talking about any kind of promotion, of which I recall none. What I am talking about is story that fans actually liked. Obviously you did not, which is fine, but that does not negate that they actually had fans & this applies to both Otalia & Jami. Of course, you can pull out negatives that may occur in almost any story but that does not damage the overall storytelling & I do not think dumbing down applied to either one.

Now, it is of course entirely true that Jon was seeking revenge & only revenge at the beginning. But most great love stories begin some other way. And, if you think that Jon never paid, he did, in karma. Anyway, I do not think that this fits with most of these stories. I've said why.

Seriously, though, I think I have framed this all wrong. Jonathan is a trope. He's the character who resents that they had a hard upbringing & were cheated out of their birthright & resent that they did not grow up in the big house, with money, nice clothes, good food, nannies & governesses & tutors, toys, attention & love. They come to town with revenge as their only motivation. So, I guess the question is was he a good example of that or a bad one, which I guess is down to the writing.

The only thing that made the relationship inappropriate was that they are first cousins, but they did not grow up together.

Thank you GOD that Ellen Wheeler never worked again in daytime after killing GL! Kissing cousins. Gross. Peapack? Ridiculous idea by Ellen Wheeler. She killed GL

We have some among us who persist in not realizing how very many people employed by either AMC or ATWT or GL or OLTL are no longer working in daytime since those 4 soaps were all canceled! Really! There were 19 soaps on the air in 1970. Later, for a longer time but more stable there were a dozen. Now there are 5. Clearly that's not enough jobs for most people who used to make their livings in US daytime dramas, to still be doing so. Get a clue.

Definitely the Jon & Tammy story on GL was the grossest ever. Disgusting. Ellen Wheeler and the god awful Jill Lorie Hurst have, very thankfully, never worked in daytime again. No exec will hire them after that debacle. Cousins? Just disgusting and gross.

I didn't see a lot of my cousins growing up, but I still know that it is disgusting to sleep with them. I will never understand how these shows didn't just air incestuous storylines, but downright glorified them. And, the nasty people that think these relationships are ok are usually the first ones to clutch their pearls when a LGBTQ or interracial pairing is introduced. SMDH

Anything connected in any shape or form to Luna on The Bold And The Beautiful. I think in 10 years we'll cringe at what Bradley Bell did with this character. Hell... we are cringing now.
