I wonder how much longer it will be for Greg Rikaart.

I liked Emily on Y&R but the amount of time spent on her at DAYS, with two very unpopular characters, is a great example of what has chased viewers away from soaps.

Some viewers thought she'd be back as Gwen as, I guess, she was mentioned. But I'm glad that's not the case.

I'm actually surprised that Gwen is not returning because I assume that there will plenty of opportunities for her redemption now that Abby may be back.

Also, Leo just mentioned her the other day.

Well...maybe Gwen will return down the road - but it won't be O'Brien playing her? (I have no idea, just saying it's possible with mentions, etc.)

Aww....Emily is fantastic.  Love her. I hope she goes to GH or even comes back to DAYS in a year or two.

So she was ok with being written like a pathetic fool twice and discarded twice like she meant nothing? Sounds like more than one person owes Emily an apology.

I understand that a paycheck is a paycheck but goddamn. The cruelty of it all is just so fucked up.

Slightly off topic, but I also find it very ironic that we were told that Nicole/Ari Zucker’s exit was going to be sudden, abrupt and disappointing and yet it was one of the best written exits of the last few years. Way better than both of Emily O’Brien’s. Goes to show you how good it could be when somebody actually cares about a character that he writes.

Can't say I'm too surprised with the way things have turned out. Emily O'Brien was pretty much set up to fail with the horrible way the recast played out and not to mention the horrible writing that pretty much destroyed whatever character development Theresa did manage to have.

Also this pretty much proves that recasting Theresa just doesn't really work and Jen Lilley is the only person that can play her. The only reason why Theresa had ANY staying power at all was because of her; a large majority of fans might not really like Theresa very much but at least most people like Jen Lilley, (I know some people don't really care for her because of her religious beliefs and that's fine). At any rate, I don't expect Theresa to come back to the show for a very long time, assuming she even comes back at all.

DAYS succeeded in making Shane and Kimberly's daughter such a repugnant piece of trash that I actually pray this will be the last we ever see of Jeannie Theresa.

Well, that’s what happens when you have a head writer that makes Michael Winner look like Gloria Steinem.

Theresa (and even Gwen too) and EOB deserved a lot better.

Yeah, me too. I never want to see or hear any mention of Theresa on this show ever again as long as it continues to air. Hopefully the new writers are smart enough to leave her in the past where she belongs and just not have anything to do with her ever again. Theresa's story should just basically end with her spending the rest of her life in prison with pretty much her entire family abandoning her and wanting nothing to do with her ever again. That's the fate she deserves.
