I took ghost-Li's disagreement re Melinda as an attempt to give a little more dimension to Connie's character, ie, there's some small part of her that's sane

Ahhh

So, he's her depersonalized super-ego.  Who knew Carlvatti's team was so Freudian? 🤔😉

Regarding today's episode:

  1. Can you imagine Fiona's minibar bill?  I paid $12 for M&Ms in a hotel room last week.  That explains her motive to reconnect with Xander.
  2. Good to see Mark is a soap doc.  He's an OB-GYN/Neurology/Geneticist.  Small town docs can't afford to be specialists, they have to do everything.
  3. Also, the scab writers may have been better at dialogue, but the WGA writers are back to being horny.  We haven't seen this many love scenes in months.  And, there was zero reason why Tate is working out in his underwear.

-- Very true, but also very welcome.

-- I appreciate that Sarah isn't a blubbering mess or full of anger regarding her paralysis, but isn't there something between those choices and happy-go-lucky?

I see your point.  I took it more as Sarah being positive and trying to be strong for those around her.   And because she's a Dr. she's aware of what she's facing.  LG was probably a bit too giggly with it all, but LG makes some strange performance choices sometimes.

The performance and the writing were odd.  Holly & Sarah eating donuts and being coy about her teenaged love affair, while Sarah hadn't seen her baby since being in a near-fatal car accident, was more than a little weird (to quote the modern vernacular).

I am pretty sure Xander brought Victoria to Sarah the other day.

It was strange Dr. Mark Greene went on and on about Holly/Aaron's prom date.  Like Sarah cares.  Weird for a grown man to shame a stupid teenage girl about something Aaron didn't even care about and was low stakes, petty drama.

That stuff was all bizarre. Maybe Ron got sidetracked with his "Tate is in his underwear" scenes.

I assume there will be some sort of drunken Tate/Sophia hookup

I'm assuming that too, I just hope the writers establish a good reason for it.

It would have been much more natural to just say Holly was his brother's prom date and Holly could have explained it if Sarah wanted to know more.  It was creepy Mark was that invested lol.

I am hoping we learn more about her and her life.  I'd be mad at Tate/Holly if I was Sophia too, but it's a pretty extreme reaction to try to destroy Holly and her relationship.  They were bff for years, right?  And Sophia just had a crush on Tate.  Teenagers are ridiculous though, so maybe that's normal lol.

She definitely needs a backstory, especially if she's gonna stick around.

If it were me, I'd probably say something about Sophia being neglected by her parents. Or being bullied at school and that Holly was her first true friend, or so she thought. She could've explained all that to Tate and then tried to seduce him later 😂

I just hope they don't do another racist Asian trope where her parents are super strict.

I hope not either. It's too cliche and stereotypical.

If anything, they could somehow break new ground with the character of Sophia.

In the past, one of the ways writer's used teen pregnancy was to prove that two people had sex.  But, given Allie's pregnancy, and the fact that this crowd are supposed to be high school juniors, I hope they would avoid that issue.  So, I wonder if they could employ more modern storytelling devices such as social media or AI to tell the Tate, Holly, Sophia story?

For example, Sofia could start liking Tate's posts on Instagram (Dimera-gram?) or using AI to fake interactions.  Anything to avoid another unwanted baby, and the inevitable discussions about parental responsibility.  I always think that X (formerly known as Twitter) is the Phoebe Tyler of today, with all the instant judgments about people's lives, and the desire to promote a perfect image.  So, I'd rather see it used more often.

Also, where's next week's promo?
