So I’m on last week, I’ve been zooming through to get caught up. Is Brady off the wagon now because of what Theresa did? Seems like an extreme reaction.

The Devereauxs still trusting Kayla to handle anything medical for them is hilarious.

Body and Soul plus Connie running around town is way too much camp for one show.

I’ve been enjoying Xander’s mom.

There’s something entertaining about Jack who himself has died and come back several times, now having to worry about his daughter who also has come back from the dead before. This show has made death so meaningless.

How does Leo not know who Hattie is?

Again, this feels like an episode making fun of us fans.  What if Phillip was born in 1995 and was a teen in 1999?  Lol.  Who would buy that?  Ugh....

The only "joke" I liked today was Leo reading Kim's book.  It obviously went too far, because of course, but it could have been a subtle nod to history.

I actually do like the idea of a lot of people in town working on the soap.  It can make for drama and connects people that aren't usually connected.

Honestly, the jokes are what make it so awful.  If they treated seriously it wouldn't be that bad.  Yes, it's ridiculous that half the town is going to be acting in this, but it really does bring characters together that don't usually interact at all.

I would prefer more people working at the paper, but Xander sold it back to Jack and I guess that's a wrap for it?  Lol.  Eric and Nicole are gone, Everett is dead, Xander gave it to Jack, and I am unclear if Leo and Stephanie still work there.  So that leaves Chad.

It's weird how they built the Spectator up as the place people worked at and now have abandoned it for a soap.  I suspect this Body & Soul stuff won't last past Ron.

I appreciate this take because I agree that there is something intriguing about grouping a small cast into a singular workplace for interactions.  It provides some conflict for Johnny and Chanel that doesn't involve a baby.  And there is an opportunity to see characters share scenes that have rarely interacted in the past.  We have no idea what Titan and DI do, so this is a much more understandable setting, and it feels like a low-cost approach to establish new motives.

But, it elevates the most obnoxious voices on social media.  RonC seems tortured by the responses to his writing, and it makes it feel as if he is chronically online like a teenager being bullied in high school.  There was pre-existing conjecture about his animosity toward fans, and these "jokes" do nothing to advance sympathy for his reaction.

I am not sad Bobby/Everett are gone, nor do I really care about the ending.  During the entire episode Jada/Stephanie were watching him die the show could have just wrapped it up.  Just finish the story.  It's so lazy to just kill him off without any conclusion.  That's more annoying to me than not knowing.

I really don't mind the premise.  Like you said, it's much easier to understand than what Dimera Enterprises does.

I don't even mind a few jokes.  It's the entire story that feels like a mockery of the soap industry and the fans.  It's so strange Ron would even want to go there.  Does he hate his job?  Did he want to get fired?

I finally saw those episodes of Everett’s death last week. I couldn’t believe Jaida and Stephanie sat there being hysterical for an hour instead of ya know trying to save his life.

I like the twist of Xander’s mom hitting Sarah, but man is Sarah ever happy and healthy for more than 5 minutes before there’s another crisis.

    • I have to check out his Bela Garody on Search for tomorrow. He was one of the main reasons EON worked for me when I was watching. Truly unforgettable presence. Handsome in the most perverse and sinister way. They don't make faces like that anymore.
    • My favorite moment in SOAPDISH is the HW taking the star to the mall in NJ to improve "morale"!!
    • Oh no! The shoulder pads! I will mourn them when they're gone. Please tell me the head pieces and hats remained!?
    • Shout! TV has now added season 26. Not sure what the reasoning for that was, but maybe it was the one that was ready to go...
    • It's AWFULLY hard to tell.  But out of the (approximately) 16 weeks so far in 2025, Bryton has only had about 12 episodes.  That's significantly less than 1 per week.  Once the actor drops down to less than 1 per week for an extended period of time (such as a 39-week cycle), I start thinking there's no contract in place for him or her.  Surely these folks aren't tying themselves down to a show for a guarantee of 1 or 2 episodes a month.   If I counted right, Bryton has had 21 episodes in the past 24 weeks.  They're either (a) about to kick into high-gear & work his ass off to meet his minimum guaranteed appearances, or else (b) he ain't got a contract that guarantees him squat.
    • These contract guarantees of 1 ep per month are ridiculous. How can you even have a story if your character apprars 4-5 times in a month? It's sad.
    • It's hard to tell with some actors appearing on average 4 times in a month whether they're recurring or just on a low guarantee contract. Someone recurring  like Beth Maitland can be used a lot for several months then disappear. So the monthly tallies aren't enough to go by.
    • Of the so-called "contract" cast members, I'd venture to say these are recurring: Bryton James, Camryn Grimes, and (possibly) Michael Graziadei.  I've suspected since 2018 that Kate Linder and Christian LeBlanc are recurring.  And I believe we all know Miss Ordway is, because she said so. lol.
    • Dante blaming Gio instead of his dweeb son and the other dweeb was just ridiculous. Gio's paternity story is going in circles with no reveal. I've already started fast forwarding Drew and his stupid ho Willow's story. Kristina's story is beyond dumb with no great payoff.
