This is a must!

Bring the gay quad back.

Hope and Bo return to at least finish up the story from BS.

More family grounded stories.

Write out the Dimeras but only keep EJ.

Bring back other fan favorites with meaningful and believe stories.

Quit double casting. Does that make sense?

I've done this already two other places. I gladly do it again here.

First, agree about tone & style. Latex masks, back from the dead, demonic possession not done well, etc. Also agree about Leo, and about too many DiMeras & not enough Hortons.

So, to it. My list. Bope, Recast Sami, we all know my primary nominee. Cast Sydney. Avery Pohl has been suggested. Theo & Claire. Martha Madison. If they could get Lindsay Arnold back, plum!

But most of all, tell a totally different kind of story. More heart, more family dynamics. I'd love to see Mark Valley & Cady McClain run the paper again. Find some way to bring Laura, Abby & Adrienne back. Oh, I forgot JJ.

And my last wish is possibly the most important one of all, throw out 3-4 months of writing that hasn't been taped yet & get us a little bit closer to reality. 10 months out is just too wrong.

While that would be great, the fact that they seemingly waited out Ron's contract instead of replacing him along with Alarr makes me think the budget isn't there to waste 3-4 months of scripts. At best Cwikly and Ford might be able to go back and re-write some stuff to fit with their material better.

Bo and Hope definitely

As for the Dimeras, I think they should keep Chad and Johnny, but have Johnny finally remember that he’s also a Brady.

And you know I’d love a Will/Sonny/Paul/Andrew quad too

But if we can’t get that, I’d also love #Dandrew

I don't consider Chad a Dimera. So I wasn't talking about him when I said the Dimeras had to go. Johnny does nothing for me and Carson Boatman can't act.

Dandrew? The doctor and Andrew?

ITA. One of the reasons I stopped watching cold turkey about a year ago is that DAYS started to feel like a PARODY OF DAYS. The mask wearing took me over the edge. They need to get back to simpler family based stories and romance. Give us a reason to CARE about these characters!

Regarding Johnny, has anyone else noticed that he FAR MORE looks like he could be Lucas's son versus EJ. The same height and similar features. That could be a great twist and would upend EJ's life.

There are WAAAAYYYYYYY too many Dimeras on this show. Stefan seems very redundant as a character. Love the actor, but the character bores the hell out of me. There just doesn't seem to be a point to him. Johnny needs a new direction if they're going to keep him. I would rest Kristen for a good while, too. She's a character that works best in small doses to stir the pot. Again, I'd love to see them bring Theo on full-time and have him torn between his Carver and DiMera sides just as his mother was once.

Goodbye to Ava, Leo, Stefan, Gabi, Tate, Holly and fake Abby.

Make the Hortons the core family!

  • Bring back Mike with his wife and preteen son and daughter. Eventually Mike’s children become part of a teen group played by actual teenagers!
  • Eventually bring back Jeremy to have an affair with his step mother.
  • Bring back Lucas and give him a new romance.  With Jada maybe.
  • Make Everett Jessica Blake’s son that she had during one of her DID periods.  I think Everett could work with better writing and ties to the Hortons.
  • Over time bring back other Hortons.  Some on contract and some as guest stars.

A big story for Bo and Hope.  Peter and Kristen would need to sign on for at least a year to do it justice.

Put Shawn and Belle front and centre. Give them a story where they work together and are happy.  Belle then gets pregnant with their son only to have Talia to return with her son by Shawn who is need of medical treatment.

Reduce the number of DiMeras.

  • Tony as the head of the family with Anna at his side.
  • EJ and Chad plus their children.
  • Kristen, Peter, Megan, Dimitri and Stefan can come in and out for short arcs to drive story.

Give Abe his family back! Bring back Theo and eventually Jett with a son to be part of the teen scene.

Dimitri and Andrew

They could still say that the two of them had a fling while Dimitri was in the ISA pretending to be Kyle Graham

Mark and Andrew would be #Mandrew

I wouldn’t mind that. It’s definitely time for EJ to be the villain and stay as the villain.

    • Hotel was The Love Boat on land but a little soapier. I will forever maintain that Hotel was a time slot hit. I don't believe that 1983/84 Hotel was a better show than Knots Landing.

    • The timing is strange, though. How far in advance would they normally be on location? The Achille Lauro hijacking was on October 7, 1985. Nancy had arrived in Egypt in the storyline by October 18. But the character of Hawk, Chris' Native American friend from Arizona, had already appeared onscreen by September and brought a letter telling Chris to be in Egypt by October 25th.  Why did they already have the link to Arizona before the reason to cancel the shoot in Egypt?  The dust and the jar it came in were from Egypt though. Nancy bought it there and sent it to Mac as a gift before she came back to the states and followed Chris to Arizona.
    • Actually that is not what happened. Nor is the timing right for it to have been. We learned from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay  in 2006, which can be found on YT, that it was Fred Silverman's idea to do the 90 minute show. I don't know how much you know about him but he had these amazing successes as head of daytime at both ABC & at CBS. Then he came to NBC where basically everything he touched turned NOT TO GOLD but to shite. Some of the most expensive shows ever produced up to that time were huge flops. Although even he, like a broken clock, could be right on occasion. However, as we know, he was not right about the 90 minute show. As a matter of fact, afterward,  NBC programmers, who worked FOR him, were asked why they did it & they were quoted as saying it was because they couldn't think of anything else to try. It was a stupid idea from a man who had reached the point where he was throwing anything at the wall to see if it would stick.

    • I stopped watching Another World in 1990. Simply, lost interest in the show.  I had watched the show from 1973 to 1990. The 90 minute show started the decline of AW.  NBC panicked with expanding AW due to the GH hoopla. As mentioned above, 1982 was a trainwreck for AW.  The introduction of the Shea family, the movie storyline involving Jamie, and Steve Frame favoring Rachel over Alice. The writers went into that direction due to the forgettable performance of Linda Borgeson.

    • Ive seen that theory thrown out but the one thing against it is that Leslie and her family lived in Chicago. She only came back to DC last year after her husband died. Unless they say Alan made a trip to DC and died while away, she wouldnt know about that. However I do think the angle of her finding out that Martin was involved could work as that gives her leverage against Bill too for covering it up. She'd want to get revenge on him by threatening to have him disbarred
    • What a good write-up @Errol! Nice seeing the nod to Duplaix's lead.
    • The Egypt location shoot was cancelled because of the Achille Lauro cruise ship hijacking
