Twitter thread of one attendee's experiences
(actors were great, the event staff were not).
Disclaimer that I don't know this account, never heard of them before, but it reflects a lot of what I've seen other twitter accounts state...

A few of my comments about #DayofDays2024 and then we’ll bury it alive.
1. Peacock had no proper or firm structure in place on how to handle the rows of seating and then keeping track of those in line and directing them off the stage into a new area.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
2. Fans were cutting. Once on stage and through the line they had been waiting for, they jumped directly into another line ON STAGE. I think this gave the illusion to the workers that new people from the seats were coming up. They were not.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
3. In section 1 specifically, everyone who had waited the first time moved forward for session two. We waited through lunch, through the Day Players—this was in addition to waiting already done through the first session. If we moved, we lost our spot.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
4. When Peacock came out with new rules in the second half, they immediately broke them! We couldn’t believe the insanity one worker who immediately took people from the back of the line who hadn’t even been waiting like the rest of us. Some had already been on stage.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
When our disdain of that absolutely bonkers move was very audibly vocalized, that’s when the mood shifted to this idea that we were unreasonably entitled, when in fact, we had been the ones following the rules the entire time.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
5. Some Peacock people appeared to simply not give a [!@#$%^&*] about the event, the fans, or anything going on. I wonder how toxic of a work environment that place must be. Nobody looked happy.

Nobody had microphones either, so they’d be talking and only 1 row in the front cld hear

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
Nobody came over to truly check in on us. The disdain for us was real. People in Peacock shirts saying they don’t even work there. They had no answers, but they had a ton of mouth.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
Here’s an example: After finally getting on stage at 3:40 pm and getting through the line by 4 something, some fans who had waited in the same seat all day decided to get glimpses of the stars! So we stood from afar and watched people go through the lines on stage.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
One guy told us rudely to clear the stage so they could do the Q&A (they were still signing!). When we explained why we were there and how long we waited he said “IT’S A FREE EVENT” in a tone that insinuated that we expected too much from something we didn’t pay for.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
Well he’s wrong: Everyone PAID to get there. I invested my time and gas and the $40 parking fee. It didn’t cost to get in, but I didn’t [!@#$%^&*] float here on a cloud. Nobody did. We told him he was rude. He repeated it. I really almost didn’t stay for the Q&A and promo.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
At that point, the endless waiting and watching people cheat and cut and then those following the rules not being supported or treated well doesn’t foster the happy feeling the host poked at us for not having.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
6. The host tried to make that shitty situation work. Unfortunately, after hours of waiting, nobody wanted to play his games—they kinda followed the Peacock line of we were ungrateful rude assholes, when we were just sticking up for the right thing and continued to get 🥊

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
He did get boos. Sorry my guy, ur the face/voice of the production. You ask us how we’re doing while being mistreated, you’re getting boos! Nothing personal. Just awful event business.

But don’t make us feel bad for not being okay with sitting doing nothing for HOURS.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
7. One line of fans somehow managed to COMPLAIN their way from the back of the line to the stage. Someone Walked them through the side to HIDE it from us. We sat and watched people cut and cut, but were the assholes for calling out all the bad moves.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
But the juicy tea here is that it was said by one fan that one of the people associated with Dishin Days was behind sneaking them into the stage before people who had been waiting hours and hours.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
8. Nobody seemed to want to listen to the people in the seats who had been waiting. Why there was confusion when several people explained the situation was WILD. I did stand up and speak out for myself and others.

When you have ME being loud in public, you’ve really fucked up.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
9. At the end of the day, this was a FAN event. The actors appreciate and understand our dedication to the show, but the Peacock event people don’t—AND THIS IS ONE OF THEIR PEACOCK ORIGINALS!?This is not some random title they’re hosting. Truly embarrassing and disheartening.

Matthew @WhereAreYouBabe
Everything this year felt like it was done begrudgingly, and they turned the fans (the ones following their [!@#$%^&*] rules and paying their Peacock subscriptions!) into the bad guys here.

Sorry, the John Black in me is not buying it. Stefano, get back.

Yes—around 3:40 pm after hours and hours of waiting and skipping lunch, I got to go to station one. But that was it. I asked if we could just get into a line since we had waited both times til the end. They did not allow that. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Damn. This is a shame. Hopefully, everyone involved in putting this together learned their lesson for next year.

And yeah, Tony Moore (the host) can be a little snobby and catty. You can see him act like that on Dishin Days sometimes.

I mean, isn't it held every year? Or were there new organizers?

Damn those tweets are wild but so accurate. I was right all along.
I noticed that more and more people got brought up from somewhere no one saw to the stage while the waiting ones got screwed over. I didnt imagined it lol

It was the first time being held inside that theatre. Normally it’s outside but it was too hot last year. But it seemed to work better outside than it did inside lol hell even my boys with winter jackets appearing like Dan (EJ) and Stephen (Steve) yet they are freezing lmao

If someone has already posted the link to this thread, sorry to duplicate. It seems to be by far the worst description of one person's experience yesterday.

Now, of course, I see that Jane's already got it.

My only comment is that last year people fell all over themselves complimenting Peacock on doing such a great job & seeming to have so much enthusiasm for it & the massive contact with fans. Now, this year, could not be more different!!! Whoops. Blew that.

On the plane home after my whirlwind trip to Los Angeles. I had a mostly positive experience. I arrived at the theatre just after 6am and instantly saw Cardboard Li in the foyer. I was thrilled that he was set up as a photo op. More on him later. Around 945 Brandon Barash came by to say hello.

We were let in right around 10am. System was four tables and you lined in rows in the auditorium. I went right to Line 2 and as we were first there was no waiting. I met Paul and Linsey first and they were kind enough to sign a photo I brought and pose for photos. I got to put my arm around Paul so that happened. Next up were Josh and James. I found speaking to them surprisingly moving, maybe cause they are the age of my dad. Sal, Elia and Tina were all fabulous. Very happy to chat and really warm and friendly. Galen was a bit more reserved. Tina agrees with me that Melinda and EJ need to hook up.

Went to group 4 line as it was the shortest. All the newbies. Cherie was divine. I told her how much I enjoy her as Gabi and it seemed to mean a lot to her. Next to her was Al who was also super, thrilled to be a part of it all especially after airing in only one episode. Colton was another really fun one to talk to. He remembered me chatting to him on Twitter about Charlotte Ross and told me to tag him again. Casey was much quieter and didn't get much from him. Kennedy was very shy and I think a bit overwhelmed. Raven and Ashley were much more chatty and looked amazing. Leo Howard was really engaging too, very likable and interested in my insane one day trek from Eastern Canada.

After that we broke for lunch and the day players performed as we sat in the next line. On a bathroom break I ran into Julie Dove hanging out with Cardboard Li, so that was a photo I had to have. I think she was just there as a fan. She was pleased to hear how much I enjoyed the Li stuff.

Then the disorganization kicked in. We waited almost 3 hours for group 3. People were on stage and cutting into lines for other groups without waiting their turns. They extended the signing and we lucked out, we thought, as our line was called right before the final cut off. Then we were told we were going to group 4 again. Not happy. Most of the line just gave up and left but four of us stuck around hoping for a change of heart by security. I pointed out as it was only 4 of us that we should be able to join the line we'd waited 3 hours for and they relented. We were frog marched by security on stage (where were they when people were line hopping?).

Jackee had left by then and Brandon had to go rehearse but the rest were still being gracious and kind to the fans. Dan introduced himself with "Hello I'm Daniel" lol. I told him I'm a long time viewer since his Spartacus days. JP was next and he was happy to hear I enjoy his odd take on Philip. He said he's all about entertaining and he will take any reaction as long as he gets one. Lamon seemed worn out and didn't say much. Abigail was super pumped and her husband is from Montreal. Where my car currently is. I hope I can find it. Then Stephen and Susan. This is why I fought to stay in this line. I told him how much Steve and Kayla have meant to me and that he got me into this 40 year addiction. Susan was absolutely beautiful up close. All I could do was thank her for being such a treasure. Last up was Billy. I told him he must be exhausted and he was, but still made me do a selfie with him.

I'm sure the Q&A and promo are posted so won't cover those. Funny to see Emily toss that hated wig. Very excited to see what's coming up. No complaints about anything in the preview!

All in all a successful day. Yes it could have been better organized but for a free event it was great. I didn't even attempt table 1 because the Dee draw meant everyone surged there, but when I was leaving I saw Brandon Beemer and Rob leaving Starbucks.

That's a wrap. Going to sleep very well tonight!

A great read. Thanks for sharing your time at the event.
