I agree.  Plus, "love on the run" stories work only when the stakes are high, but what are the stakes in Tate and Holly running off besides their families losing their collective shits about it?

There are no stakes.  Tate covered his bases for himself, but didn't think about how Holly was going to go on the run with him.  It's so silly.  The last thing Nicole needs right now is her idiotic daughter disappearing.  Holly is so selfish.

I've not heard anything that remotely sounded like "love on the run" & I don't think I missed any dialog. Last week what he described - and I found this totally incredulous - was Aaron impersonating him at sports camp & him hiding out somewhere local & seeing Holly daily on the sly. So, hiding in plain sight. Like they're not going to get caught by the second week, right?!!

I was just assuming they would leave town.  Their efforts to hide in Salem have caught easily by multiple people, multiple times.  Where is Tate going to stay this entire summer?  Is he going to rent an apartment? Does he have money?  They can't just meet in the park in the open.   It's all stupid.

Sweet Bits hasn't been leased yet, and it has a kitchen.  I mean, yes, it is caddy corner to the Pub, but nobody has ever been seen entering the building, so it provides ample coverage.🤨

Isn't Holly also about to be homeless? There are only about 8 places in town for them to meet up as it is...

Maybe he (and Holly) could hide in the tunnels linking the DiMera Mansion to Doug's Place?  It's just a thought!

Incredibly stupid, especially since Tate looks so far past the teenage years. If these were two stupid, immature 15 year olds, I'd give it a pass, but this is not working.

Incredibly stupid,

I'm really struck by the sheer level of stupidity.

Is this common across all soaps, or am I misremembering how cliffhangers work?

I recall that in the good old days, when an episode ended on a cliffhanger, the next episode would start right where the action left off, or at least show the cliffhanger from another perspective.

But on DAYS, we often get 3-4 scenes before they resolve the cliffhanger.

For example, today we saw scenes with Holly & EJ, Tate, Alex & Aaron, and Stefan & Gabi before they finally returned to Nicole and Eric. The same thing happened on Monday: multiple scenes before returning to Gabi at the press conference in the square.

I know the viewer needs to watch a certain proportion of the episode for it to be counted in the viewing numbers, so I assume that is the reason they do it. But, I just want to get to the action without all this dilly-dallying.

I think Theresa vs Holly works in the sense that it's less about their actual interaction and more about Theresa seeing Holly as too similar to her younger self and not wanting her own son to be subjected to a girl like that.

I do think some of the conflict should be coming from the couple themselves (like with Tate having it out for EJ, for example) rather than completely external, though. But it feels like this has been a few different short stories stitched together without clear transitions.

Yeah except that it doesn't really work here because Theresa is still as selfish and immature as she has ever been, except she's a lot worse now and she's also pretending to have changed and matured when she actually hasn't and probably never really has changed at all.

Everything was great minus Tate and Holly.

I just loathe Tate and Holly.

Tate Scooby doo schemes are beyond stupid.

And yes Holly is a selfish b!tch!

Isn't she grounded? How is she coming and going with neither EJ or Nicole noticing or giving a damn?

The poor me excuses she gave Eric were ridiculous! Holly comes and goes as she pleases and has a burner phone.

I think Holly will just be living with Maggie

Yeah… they really need to stop with this Leo and the water [!@#$%^&*]. Back from the dead is more believable than that happening, especially in this post-pandemic world.

Xander looked hot, but this joke has literally been done to death.

As for newbie Kerry, he’s hot too and the actor seemed to do a good job lol but his taste is something that’s really left to be desired. And how convenient that this is happening exactly one year after Leo screwed Dimitri for the first time. I knew he’d be over the “love of his life” by summertime. This is one of the many, many, many reasons why people don’t like him. And, sorry to say this, but he really needs to stop bitching and crying and be thankful that guys as hot as Kerry, Dimitri, etc. even gave him a second look.

The rest of the episode wasn’t that good. It felt like a Jamey episode; every scene was overshadowed by big stupid jokes.

Justin and Xander’s conversation was ok but they really needed to talk more about how Justin was feeling rather than why Victor “did” what he did. Still don’t see why Justin didn’t immediately demand a DNA test after finding out though.

Jack/Chad was good too. Their talk was the most realistic thing about today and I liked it.

Kerry is hot!

Someone like him would never be interested in Leo.

The rest of the show was boring.

MA acting today was over the top.

I noticed Days is dropping in the viewing order.
