I enjoyed the Cody scenes with Mac and Maxie.

I also enjoyed Laura and Liz together.

The scenes between Joss, Trina, and Gio were the most boring part of the show.

More state-the-obvious-and-state-it-again dialogue aside, these scenes have a lovely sentiment. It's interesting to see a soap so clearly talk about a found family/chosen family aspect, especially Sam and Dante expressing this sentiment, given that both have spent years and years tied to people they never would have had any use for if they did not learn they were biologically related.

The show has always had this element, even if it wasn't as overt as other soaps, but as the years passed that chosen family aspect curdled into something chilling (like Sonny's influence over Michael's life). I'm glad to see the more positive aspects brought up over the years and again here through Mac and Maxie, even if it would have been all the better to reinforce that sentiment if Cody wasn't actually Mac's son and just became a part of their family, (still, the reveal scene was worth watching).

The story with Heather’s murder hip is yet another stalled story that doesn’t work. It’s time to move forward or drop it (which I would prefer). The argument was stupid, Portia and Laura are both being wasted.

As far as Portia’s argument goes, I get her feelings because of Trina. What I don’t get is the constant reference to family. They are barely connected, and if Laura was going to interfere in a legal matter for her family I would think it would be for Nikolas. This also is a place Sasha has a natural fit to be included in story and isn’t.

Are they laying the groundwork for dealing with Monica? That scene with Trina and Joss about who is in charge of the house. The scene the day before with Tracy and the terribly named McConkey. I wish LC was in better health.

I thought Portia was really overdoing it in the ways she is accusing Laura. Saying Robert is her hand-picked DA. Pounding on her being related to Heather, as if their being cousins was somehow a prime motivation. Then, Liz, family again & some people are accusing these white women of dabbling in issues of justice as if they are claiming an entitlement which they do not deserve.

I dread this & I have been dreading for so long. Now I flinch when they mention Monica & they have begun mentioning her a fair amount.

I know this isn't really the point of your post, but the Joss/Trina/Gio scenes seemed like weird filler.  They were talking just to talk lol.  The audience didn't need a breakdown of who does what at the Q's.  I always just assumed Michael got Joss the apartment, but I didn't need a why.  It seems the show is just reminding us Monica owns it, but I am not reading further into it.

I don't care about Gio's experience in Bensonhurst.  We get it.  We've heard the same stories from different people since 1995.

I also don't need an extended scene about soft serve ice cream in PC.  There are 1000 characters in PC and we had to watch scene after scene of Gio/Joss/Trina drinking beer and shooting the sh*t.

I know Trina deserves airtime, but this isn't it lol.

What is the purpose of this Heather getting her case reopened. Heather told Curtis she knows nothing about this. Wouldnt Heather have to petition to have her case reopened?

How would you rank these four children, from favorite to least favorite: James, Violet, Donna, and Wylie.

My preference

1. James

2. Donna

3. Violet

4. Wylie

I have gone on & on & on about my love for James!!! Also I absolutely adore Leo. Last, I am fond of Donna.

I positively cannot abide Vile-ette or Charlotte.

As for Georgie, Wylie, Amelia, baby Ace, Avery, not sure if I'm missing anyone. And, not considering any teens or tweens except I already said Georgie, sorry. Anyway, the rest are just okay. Oh, Scout! Yes, she is in the okay bunch.

I meant to add. I think GH has too many kids! Of course, I also think GH has far too many adults!

I like the Congressman Drew Q saga a lot, but any time they say that guy's name it makes me think of the infamous George Lucas 'Greedo shot first' retcon from Star Wars:

🤣 James can survive. He's spicy and deserves a chance to be the gay son Maxie needs in her life.

I don't think it's ever a great idea to give kids too much airtime, but I do find him genuine rather than the cloying TV child manner with Violet, or a decade ago, Spencer and (to a lesser degree) Emma. If you look at all of these castings as Valentini's attempt at recreating Our Gang, James would be a B player from their early '30s peak while Spencer or Violet were from the bleak early '40s MGM years. He also seems believable as a kid who would be heavily raised by Felicia to make up for her guilt.

I still don't know all these kids. Who is Wiley again?

And I know @Vee had mentioned Maxie having too many kids but I didn't even know there was a Bailey Lou until yesterday. Who decided Maxie needed another child? Were they a big fan of Party of Five and the Andy Griffith Show? Was the story worth watching?

As for McClonkey, all I can think is I loved Sam McMurray on the Tracey Ullman Show (he played one of the first gay characters I ever saw on TV), and then I remember him well as the mother's boyfriend in The Wizard. I know he was on soaps in the early '80s too. It's nice to see he's still working.
