Yeah just like RH over on GH, I am wondering who has it out for SC other than JG cuz all the stories she could be getting now that she's normal again and all of her connections are firmly intact and yet...she is getting blink and you miss her scenes now?  Make it make sense.

My theory about SC is she’s perhaps on “punishment” possibly for twice refusing to do a Shick reunion after JG teased it both in 2022  and 2023. Now she’s doing once a month appearances with minimum acting and making goofy faces. A darn shame.

I could very easily see that as well especially with Morrow’s ego. However, with Nick and Sally being long over,  now Nick has zero story at all other than to be a supporting Newman and that’s it. The only advantage is he appears more than other black hole characters like Chelsea and Sharon do.

The show teased Nick and Lily a month or so ago but didn’t follow-up at all. Also the recent JM and Stafford scenes also feel forced and awkward. I know Phyllis has been written into a permanent corner for a year now, but I get the sense JM and MS may not enjoy working together anymore either. I wonder what happened there.

Can Josh Morrow really decide what his storyline is and what involvements he wants for Nick?

Still puzzled as to why GCAC can have background people but CL is always empty.

Anyway today's director was smart and kept to tight shots in CL and Society so the lack of extras wasn't noticeable.

Sharon Case isn't looking her best. Let's leave it at that.

And to think I almost skipped the standalone. It just reminds me of GL Wednesdays and I never really loved those. And they are hit and miss at Y&R. Usually, they have almost no consequences on the show.

But WOW!!! Seeing Jack fall off the wagon...IS a gamechanger. And fall low. And it doesn't seem seem like it was a fantasy of Nikki's either. So BOOM!!! Diane gets a story...and new energy a la new feud with Nikki going forward.

But he has been from what I've seen in interviews, boards, all around. Didn't he and SC fall out over some comments he made years ago while Nick/Phyllis was back together. And then there was that time he gave an interview...maybe on THE TALK?...where he was asked about Nick's relationships and made a comment and then MS fell a way for a while. As a reason, he rarely speaks about Phyllis or Sharon in order to not get either woman in their feelings.

And then there's the times JM always try to play up all his leading ladies not them over the years because the sad truth is that SC is his best acting partner, but JM is NOT hers.

I have watched some Cricket/Danny in my 1986 episodes and I can actually see real chemistry and it’s not forced. It’s so natural.

But what is the goal for them here in 2024? Like what’s the endgame for this story? Just to make Phyllis mad? Give Lauralee a few more paychecks ? I mean that dude ain’t sticking around longterm anyway so why should we care about a cricket and Danny reunion? Or a Phyllid-Danny thing?

I liked early cricket and Danny. But they seem so akward and exhausted together these days. What’s even more weird is that Danny-Phyllis actually looked more comfortable around each other than ever.

Jordan is so camp. lol. But lord if I don't enjoy seeing CZ do her thing even though I hate the character. I am wondering if she is going to use that liquor bottle to escape a la a fire. But how to get it to burn. Hmmm.

I see Daniel and Heather have vanished. *side-eye*

Good to see that others are picking up on the hostility between Summer and Claire. And now the nanny is gone? I guess that should be coming to a head.

I FF through most anything Chelesa/Billy and Adam/Sally. And I'm sad that Sally is back to sidekick to Adam in most scenes.

So the real thing catching my interest this past week so far is the Ashley story. And due to the story going on with Jack and Diane (which was so pretty great scenes, too), I expect that to have yet ANOTHER wrinkle in the Jack/Diane relationship...which I would say IT'S ABOUT TIME. Diane has been nothing, but background (outside of that C story with Kyle) for a year now. Let's test that marriage.

But going back to Ashley...I don't think I had time to say before now, but I LOVE the episode where it was 'Jean' vs 'Niki' (I'm sure the OLTL fans get that). It was just such a joy (not the story) of watching Eileen Davidson ACT. And then to see that 'Jean' is back in control. Le sigh. Ashley takes one step forward...and then more steps backwards. And now there was Ashley already sending her friend off. I really hope that is not the last we see of CC though.

    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).

    • I did some research and the story wrapped up with Eric,a caretaker responsible for Georgina's death who then  tried to do away with Laurie but a vision of Georgina spooked him and he smashed into a mirror, dying of glass wounds. So there was a supernatural element. I wonder if the Brody character in the credits was Eric Brody?
