Same here.

Anyone who thinks GH is better with Mulcahey and Korte as HWs has a lot of work to do to convince me. This Blaze/Natalia/brother family addition is not a good sign, and neither is everyone in town changing jobs at the same time.

These dumbass 'walking in the park, oh it's you!' remotes have been going on since the mid-2000s tbh. It started out at GL and ATWT, then AMC and to a lesser extent OLTL picked them up, and now GH has been doing it a lot over the last few years.

I'm pretty sure Kraze is here to stay, so, wishing & hoping for Blaze to be gone is likely a waste. Natalia, she sure looks more like Brenda than anyone else, so I'm thinking she is Sonny's type, if he actually has one. I really got some pleasure from him putting down Ava today & then her facial expression for the final scene. Good Lord, if looks could kill, Natalia will expire between now & tomorrow! And, here, I've seriously considered shipping Chrome (Corinthos + Jerome). They've not asked me but I think Blaze's guitarist brother should remain offscreen.

Oh, yes, one thing I meant to say about Violet. I think Frank and D&C loved her, guessing Frank still does. I believe it was their intent to create another Robin or Emma, which when I think about it make me so very sad for them, also I feel sorry for us, the fans. That child lives in Florida & I would like it very much if the commute was too much for her!

Yeah, I don't care for them either, especially when I personally don't know anyone who goes walking in the park like it's still 1900, lol.  You could accomplish the same goal just by having characters run into each other at the town diner and it would make more sense.

GH has been doing them for a few years, but the recent ones seem...off to me. An outdoor walk-and-talk could be ok. It's even ok to have joggers run into each other, but you can't do that over and over.

You can't have Dex try out for the PD on a course that looks so confined and unrealistic. The worst was seeing Sonny wander around "the park" by himself and having him run into Natalia.

No, I don't want bad CGI like on Y&R, but this isn't much better.

I thought the PD obstacle course was fine and looked about as functional as one of those would look, esp since we weren't shown all of the course. I found the scenes last year where Sonny was supposedly wandering around 'the PC streets' to meet Selina Wu and it was clearly just an exterior studio door in broad daylight far more embarrassing. But again, this has been going on for decades at this point.

I think GH has done a lot better by most of its studio-bound remotes in recent years, but I am never a fan of the 'wander the park' stuff.

Her real name is Alison. I am not calling her that.

Very amusing. My opinion about why Blaze has sticking power has zero to do with my liking both the character & the pairing. Bias - although it clearly exists - is totally irrelevant, but thanks so much for caring.

And, also I agree about things not being set in stone. Seems to me I used words like "pretty sure".

Her professional name is Blaze. Her given name is Alison & she goes by Ali with friends.

GH prior 2002 was all about families and the communities that made up Port Charles and the Hospital. Whomever the hell allowed Sonny and the Mob to take over GH from 2002-2012 is why fans are confused. Sonny is a mob boss. Most of the town should not want him around.

Thanks for the responses. Blaze is a very dated name for current performers - she should change it.

I'd say 2002 is generous. I remember some fans joking in the late '90s about how the docks got more airtime than the hospital.

It definitely started in the late 90’s when Maurice returned after his first stint.

As bad as it was, JFP’s first year did start to explore other parts of the canvas again. It was all just terrible and used to push her FOJ’s, per usual.

    • Aww, yeah it's very heartbreaking and I mostly enjoyed the Nola/Vanessa scenes because they finally let their walls down and came together in a beautiful moment. So Nola was at the hospital already and bumped into Vanessa, who had MRI papers that fell out of her hand and Nola went down to pick them up and asked her what was going on. Later, Vanessa confided in her about her disease. Then, Nola told Zachary on the beach (he prodded her and already alluded to knowing something was going on with Van), and then Vanessa found out she told him and got a little upset. Now, however, Nola is strangely absent while everyone is mourning her death. I'm curious if Nola will actually tell people about her MRI results. I would assume so. Only Nola, Rick, Roger and Zachary know anything, although there is the MRI results letter from the mail that everyone has missed seeing at home. I'm sure it'll all come out at some point. But... I just saw the next episode and the opening already cut Vanessa out and added Dahlia and Zachary. I guess Maeve is gone for a long time

That will break my heart seeing the town continue to mourn her and assume she's dead. I can't wait to see her return though, and I have to imagine feelings will be torn between loving that she's alive and being very angry she did all of this. While I hate what Vanessa is doing, I'm happy to hear it's not totally against her character. I think you're right, had Henry still been around, she wouldn't put him through this. I'm still surprised she is with Bill, though. I get her feelings on Matt, because she wants him to move on, but still very heartbreaking. I'm glad this was Maeve's choice to have a break vs. being fired.    Interesting, so I'm curious to see who they eventually pair Phillip with. They're flirting with a Phillip/Annie pairing, but I'm not sure if they'll go that route with the Jeva drama, her growing pill addiction, and Rick's past with her.  Ugh, yeah I'm so sad to see Bridget do a total 180 in the last couple weeks. She has always been a strong character from what I've seen, but now she's just bending over backwards to get Hart to love her and it reeks of desperation. Yeah, sure, this new Hart is eye candy, but I'm already tired of seeing Hart/Dinah have sex all over Springfield and the Cayman Islands haha.
    • Yes.  I remember them together during the early summer of 1986.  They didn't share scenes again for 30 years until 2017 because Carrie wasn't on the show when Anna returned during Sydney's kidnapping.
    • I can see Kim being that way. Well, Kyle didn't have to say yes. LOL. The suicide attempt feels plot-driven. I don't know if even Long could've made it work. She'd spent so much time trying to make Reva and Kyle into a couple, it feels odd to just have them give up. Not to mention how odd it is to have Maeve agree to marry him. Re Charita---surely they could've at least tried  finding clips with who was still there. Maybe they wouldn't have been "big" moments, but surely she'd interacted with Ross, Vanessa, and Henry. Vanessa had dated Ed, FCOL. But Mo and Rick were there---surely they could've bothered to find some clips of her with them (and they did interact a fair amount) and used them. And with Ed they could've found some shot of her talking to him and just not cut to whoever was playing Ed in the clip. That to me is what feels lazy---they had more than a year to figure it out, and they went with a bunch of photos. If you were sort of centering it on Rick anyway---then find clips with them and use 'em.
    • I definitely think it's time to write off Nina for good. I think her killing Drew might actually be a good idea. She could completely lose it after losing both Sasha and Willow and she ends up murdering Drew and eventually she gets caught and sent away to prison for a long time.
    • I hope it's okay to post this here(as in from DC)
    • Quick question - did Christie and Leann share any scenes together in the '80s before Leann left the show?
    • This is the perfect way to encapsulate the situation. So many morally-reprehensible stories were foisted on the show and its characters in ATWT's dwindling years. Rape should never be used as a cheap plot device or in a way that degrades the victim. Jack's sexual assault was another heinous example of how nasty the the show's tone had become. The fact that people like Hogan Sheffer, Ron Carlivati, Jean Passanante, Charles Pratt, Dena Higley, etc., somehow end up winning awards for their material, decimates the credibility and integrity of the awards, IMHO. Soaps used to have a solid moral core and did not originally wallow in the gutter, rolling around in filth and depravity just to be cool, hip, campy, or whatever else modern-day PTB aim for. Thank you. Cruelty, degradation and misogyny are not components which lend themselves to successful soaps, which have always been predicated on warmth, family bonds, and providing a comforting haven for their audience. The genre has been crippled because the cynical and ignorant executives in charge understand neither the shows nor what the audience wants to see.
    • Beverlee was on a whole other level from Kim. It's not like they were in competition with each other. I get the feeling that Kim had a slight problem with the super-professional, serious cast members who just wanted everyone to be prepared and do the work, as she seems to like having fun on set. (She's made a few cracks about Chris Bernau being like that). Bev was definitely one of those. But they didn't work together that much. Yeah, they made her manic and also much weaker. She always had a vulnerability, but wanting to kill herself over that guy? No way. Not only that, he didn't leave her! She insisted he marry Maeve. When they did the tribute to Bert/Charita, the compilation of scenes with her showed how much the cast had been almost totally turned over in a relatively short period of time. Nearly every shot was of her by herself because most people she had worked with had been fired, left or been replaced. I assume they couldn't show her with people who hadn't been replaced, like Don Stewart, Elvera Roussel, or Robert Newman because they would have had to pay them for using their clips. It's dreadful to watch. Like she had no connection to the current show.
