It is so ridiculous that Sonny and Carly, etc. were comfy with Ava to begin with before this regime began. People whining that Ava is getting vilified in this run can miss me because a villain/antiheroine is what Ava is, period. I really like her scheming against Sonny and Carly, but outside of when she has the wool over his eyes (as she does now) neither of them should be able to share space with her for long.

IIRC, Setton said her modesty was out of respect to her husband and neither her nor Josh wanted to do love scenes.  I don't think I even heard religion come into the discussion (although I am sure that plays a part).  It was a bit of a strange take because Amanda and her husband had to realize her income comes from being a soap actress and it generally requires love scenes.

I do wonder if AS's weight gain after having her kids has affected her wanting to do love scenes as well.  I don't want to appear like I am bashing her or anything, but these buttoned up looks seemed to appear once she came back from maternity leave.

I believe it was something that both Amanda and Josh talked about. They said since having kids, they decided they want to do naked love scenes anymore. They still kiss and some are quite passionate.

Now to BTS

GH needs a new EP

How about promoting Michelle Henry and/or Mary Kelly Weir

Or is Ginger Smith still up to being an EP of another daily Drama. She was EP of AMC with Prospect park

Amanda was living by a modesty code long before they paired her with JS. And it did have a religious basis.

Great segue. A woman would be a good idea. I'd personally like Wendy Riche but could also get up a head of steam for Shelley Curtis. I don't know the people you mention. Is experience with PP an asset?

Do you recall that Shannon Peace had gone quiet & people hoped someone had made her see the error in what she was doing if she wants to work in this town again? Apparently not. She's posting again.

Yes.  On November 12, 2023, there was a Coastal Entertainment live fan zoom event with Josh Swickard and Amanda Setton.  This was discussed during that event.

Josh and Amanda said they don't want to show their characters
in hot lovemaking scenes, because they are married to other people in real life,  and they are concerned what will happen when their real-life children become teens and see GH clips online.

Here is a recap of that part of the zoom event:
https://soaphub.com/general-hospital/news-gh/ghs-josh-swickard-and-amanda-setton-talk-boundaries-and-a-special-kind-of-steamy/

"Josh and I are both married. We have young families, we’re wildly committed to our spouses, and it’s a boundary for us"  "the writers and the producers are super respectful of that, and we’re very grateful, and we are willing to chemistry it up and make-out up and make it all good in that way. But in terms of side by side in a bed with bra straps, it’s a bit of a boundary for us."
"I think we get pretty steamy. Like I think the way they write us and the gazing and the kissing and the loving and the hands on each other’s faces, and there’s a neck…it’s great."

"I think there’s ways to do it…there’s ways that they can massage the topic of, you know, falling into…bed,” chimed in Swickard. The actor explained it had to do with his growing brood. “Right now, I’m raising kids, and I’m like…they’re going to have the Internet in 13 years and thinking all those things through and wanting to do right, as an actor and wanting to do right by your family and throwing that all in a blender, it can be stressful at times."

I don't see anything in their comments that imply it has a religious base.  It absolutely could, but I am just going off the actors comments and religion isn't mentioned at all.  They are just saying they don't want their kids to see their love scenes in 13 years.  Which

1. AS and JS would be lucky if their GH clips are on you tube in 13 years lol

2. You could just tell your teenage children it's fake and part of your job at that point lol.  I am sure a 15 year old or whatever could grasp that.

It's all weird.  I am not knocking anyone's beliefs or standards, but find a job better suited to your needs then?

Yup.  I can see drawing a line at nudity or something like that, but GH's love scenes are mostly tame af.  It's not like it's OnlyFans or something.  If your teenage children can't understand that acting is fictional then you have more issues with parenting than a few chaste kisses and rolling around on some sheets on camera lol.

Great American Family or whatever should have AS and JS on speed dial.  That feels like a good place for them.

We all know it was only a matter of time before Chase took a bullet in the line. Time to speed that up.

BLQ, well I think Amanda can do great work if she wants to but I'm not here for Brook Lynn as Agnes of God. So either she can change things up or she can go too.

Just watched the “big” wedding. Did that episode really make it on the air across the country? Embarassing! A couple that few care about got married. Yawn. And having that untalented little girl singing is almost child abuse! No wonder Mulcahey was fired! Oh wait, he only did the good stuff and had nothing to do with the bad stuff. lol

    • It seems like the obvious downside for future writers was that if a real news event occurred in Bay City, Michigan, then the audience would wonder how it would affect Rachel and Iris. Whereas, a soap set in a larger city like Los Angeles or Houston can avoid everything but weather events by saying that our characters were on the other side of town.  IRL, I recall a huge snowstorm that hit Manhattan in the 1990s, and the papers with filled with stories about actors and crew having to spend the night in various television studios because the trains shut down early.  Which led me to question if we know of any natural events like storms or tornados that effected production? Remember when Port Charles, NY had to have an earthquake because of sets destroyed by a real earthquake in LA?
    • @janea4old I'm sure eventually Canada/USA will air the same episode, but I'm really surprised it has gone on this long.
    • To her credit, I don't think Lucci ever demanded that she be front and center the way other lead actresses did. If she did, she wasn't listened to. She also had other side projects and that probably helped out a lot. When Erica was maternal Erica, she added to the show. As time wore on and they were still writing her as if she still in her twenties, it didn't work and it harmed the show. I know Lucci wanted to do the showgirl storyline which was a mess. I've also read (don't know how reliable it is) that a lot of her bad decisions came from her husband's advice. That included her ridiculous choices for Emmy submissions and the terrible t.v. movies. There have been a lot of talented daytime actresses who didn't get their due, and it is rather annoying that Lucci was nominated so often in years when she didn't deserve it and when her material was truly awful.
    • While we never believed that and never wanted that for Nikki.
    • It was! Fajitas with flour tortillas, beans, and potato salad. Butter pecan ice cream for dessert.
    • I see Nikki has got the Katherine treatment and is now referred to as a legendary business woman.
    • In the early years, both Bay City and Somerset were said to be located in Michigan, about an hour's drive from each other. In a long-ago news report about the backstage goings-on of the show, the host opened the segment by giving historical facts about AW, including Bay City, Michigan, as its locale. The clip is, or at least was at one point, available on Youtube. I watched it twice. Somerset, the spin-off sister soap, was also acknowledged to be in that same state. When Heather Lawrence was told by her mother, Eve, that they were moving there permanently, Heather complained about not wanting to go to that, "dreary little town in Michigan." On a talk show once (it might have been Merv Griffin; I forget), Audra Lindley spoke about her career pre-Three's Company. She said, "I was on a soap opera for years called Another World. It was set in Bay City, Michigan...." And then she elaborated on her antagonistic character of Liz Matthews. Finally, even Google has its say: "Yes, Somerset, a township in Huron County, Michigan, is relatively close to Bay City. It's located to the north-east of Bay City, and the drive is generally less than an hour. The two towns are linked by the Saginaw River and Lake Huron, according to a local information source." The two towns, whose names at least exist in real life, were always said on-air to be close to each other and separated by water. The opening logo of Somerset even had a visual depiction of this. Why TPTB at P&G later changed AW from Michigan to Illinois, who knows? Maybe they just made the arbitrary/pointless decision to set AW, TGL and ATWT in the same state. Maybe those in charge were just ignorant of the facts and didn't care about consistency and continuity. Remember this is a company which mandated dropping the article THE from The Guiding Light and The Edge of Night in order to "modernize" the shows and "attract a younger audience." (If anyone can explain the irrational logic of that loopy decision, let me know, LOL.) So, yes, Bay City was originally set in Michigan. There is a real Bay City in that state, just like there's a Genoa City, Wisconsin on Y&R and a real Genoa City in the real Wisconsin. Retcons and historical inaccuracies are not uncommon on soaps, alas. Out of curiosity, were you watching in the late 1960s and early 1970s? Michigan was mentioned, on-air, more than once, back then. I kept extensive scrapbooks of all my favorites soaps at the time (yes, I had no life, LOL), and I made notes of trivia like this, characters' addresses and telephone numbers, birthdates of babies, etc.
    • It just reinforces everything that's wrong with this couple and this show, doesn't it? It's not romantic, it's not sexy, it's not anything. Instead, I end up thinking about the set -- how long it took to put up even more greenery to remind us we're in the park, that the weather in WI must be really mild to produce those full-bloom roses, and how adorable that they've added tables so people can carry Panera there to eat.
    • Yeah... Joss needs to die. So sick of her. And it would be so nice if the professor did it. Btw, ruining Emma is not gonna make people like Joss. It's just gonna make us like Emma more. Luckily, I enjoyed the rest of the episode. And yes, Gio did look hot

I was totally here for Brook Lynn vs. Lulu, even though I'm Team Brook Lynn. This confrontation definitely need to happen and I hope it's the first of many. I'm curious to see what's going to happen from here. I don't like Ric all that much, but he was kickin' ass today. Hopefully, this leads to Willow getting custody. I did feel bad for Sasha though. I'm still loving how we have to hate Boyle even though he's 100% correct  And yeah, I still don't know what they're doing with Lucky and Liz but I liked their scenes today. They're so good together, and honestly, they should become like Dante and Sam: a couple with no conflict lol I think they've earned their happily ever after.
    • For real. Can she at least go to Orphey Genes on lunch break? There's so much mess that she hasnt seen and we missed her commentary
