I enjoyed the special. It was beautifully done, so intentional, so inspiring. It made me want to join the BTS crew. It was the start of great beginning…

As from social media, the genuine love that comes from that set is radiently positive. I cannot always say the same for other sets.

I get what you're saying but we cannot control the MAGA morons.

Ultimately this will come down to money.
Procter & Gamble has posted in January 2025 about their commitment to what they call "E&I" (equality & inclusivity) but it's the same as "DEI" (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and honoring their leaders in this:
https://us.pg.com/blogs/inspirational-leaders/

There is a lot more, based on reading the E&I details on P&G's website, and also looking at all the P&G youtubes and P&G blogposts.  They seem truly committed and not just paying lipservice.

This is P&G's main page on that, as of Oct.2024, updated Dec. 2024:
https://us.pg.com/equality-and-inclusion/

I know Tr*ump is attempting to sue CBS News, which could affect the upcoming Paramount merger; but Tr*mp cannot control P&G or NAACP.

P&G has long been one of the most progressive conglomerates in America. They don’t get the recognition because of their midwestern roots, and within daytime because their soaps were always stigmatized as your “grandma’s soaps” but if you look into their corporate history, you’ll find they’ve supported and upheld many progressive policies for their employees and wider society. Obviously, like any company, they have their skeletons and cons, but it is what it is.

-- I hope CBS puts today's special up on the website, because my Xfinity didn't record. The grid shows only "Bold & the Beautiful," for the hour, and although I did set it to record, it was set for only NEW episodes -- and that was marked as a repeat. UGH.

-- Tracker and Watson both aired BTG promos during last night's episodes. Tracker is the #1 most watched primetime show at the moment, so that was great to see.

Give it to Comcast to screw the guides up.

I saw a post somewhere (here or on social media) that said they had to program their VCR to specifically record "Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood".  Otherwise it wouldn't record.

This would be separate from setting to record *only* BTG actual episodes.

Even if his character is a Sonny type, at last Jon will make him fairly rootable, especially in comparison to Sonny who hasn't been rootable in decades lol

details on Canada airing Beyond The Gates
from Jeevan Brar of thetvwatercooler.com
https://www.thetvwatercooler.com/2025/02/how-to-watch-beyond-the-gates-in-canada/

on CBS at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT.
In Canada, Beyond the Gates will simulcast on CHCH at 2 p.m. ET.

The CHCH news arm serves the Halton and Niagara regions and is available on basic cable in the Toronto area and on digital and satellite across Canada.
Canadians who do not have CHCH, will still be able to watch Beyond the Gates live and DVR the series on CBS across the country where the American network is available locally.

UPDATE (as of Feb,.16, 2025)
Paramount Global Content Distribution, which distributes Beyond the Gates, has confirmed exclusively to The TV Watercooler  that CHCH only holds broadcast television rights to the series in Canada. There is no confirmation yet on if any streaming service has picked up Beyond the Gates to stream in Canada.
As of press time, Beyond the Gates will not stream on Paramount+ (where it will stream in the U.S.) in Canada.

As I said earlier, news of the Canadian broadcaster will be announced this week via press release.

Thanks @Errol .
I noticed that CHCH is not carrying the "BTG welcome to the neighborhood" specials during week of Feb. 17- 21.  In their 2pm timeslot is reruns of "Mad About You".
But their listings starting week of Feb. 24 do show BTG episodes in that same timeslot.

Since the BTG neighborhood specials were produced with help from ET, I am *randomly speculating/wondering* if "ET-Canada" might show the BTG neighborhood specials at some point?  Just wondering because ...
Y&R's 50th anniversary had a behind-the-scenes special (produced in cooperation with ET in USA),
and it aired separately on "ET-Canada".

This character SHOULD make us realize why GH alumni was hired. Here it comes.

Call it nepotism, or whatever, but there are two (of many) reasons why Jon has this role:

  • Like Michael Park ("As The World Turns"), Jon Lindstrom is a recognizable face who has appeared in numerous political dramas and suspense thrillers dealing with the mob, bad guys and immoral people. None of which describes Jon himself, but he is an immense talent that any show would love to have available to them.
  • Long time friends with the show's creator, head writer, executive producer and showrunner, who has fought on behalf of and spearheaded her work as long as time has existed.
