New Details Announced (TL; DR) - November 12, 2024:

• Beyond the Gates premieres Monday, February 24, 2025 on CBS. Stream Live and On Demand on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscription.
• The series will air weekdays at 2:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. PT on CBS.

 

New Details Announced (TL; DR) - September 19, 2024:

• "The Gates" is now called "Beyond The Gates."
• Key Art/Logo for "Beyond The Gates" released.
• Soap alums Tamara Tunie ("As The World Turns"), Daphnee Duplaix ("One Life to Live," "Passions") and Karla Mosley are the first actors officially cast by the show.
• "Beyond The Gates" is a one-hour daytime drama.
• The series is set to premiere in early 2025. Previously, CBS announced it would debut in January 2025.
• CBS has formally announced the series will begin production later this fall in Atlanta; confirming the film location (city), but not studio.
• Robert Guza Jr. ("General Hospital," "Sunset Beach") and Julie Carruthers ("All My Children," "Port Charles") are officially confirmed as executive producers, joining a team led by creator, showrunner, and executive producer Michele Val Jean, and fellow executive producers Sheila Ducksworth, Leon Russell, Derrick Johnson and Kimberly Doebereiner.
• Anna Saalfeld is also a new addition to the executive producer team, having never been previously announced. This makes it eight executive producers behind "Beyond The Gates," the most for a daytime drama series ever.
• P&G Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble, remains on board as a partner on the series which is being developed and produced by the CBS Studios/NAACP Venture, led by Ducksworth.
• An official synopsis has been released for "Beyond The Gates."

Well, so much for Real Andrews. This has proven to be a surprising journey. Clifton Davis? Never thought of him being in this but I like it. Best known from those two sitcoms "That's My Mama" and "Amen" he's a proven stellar actor.

I didn't expect Clifton Davis! That is an excellent choice! I can't wait to see him with Tamara Tunie! Other than Davis and Mike Manning, I don't know any of the others, so I can't really say much about them. I'm excited for the overall ensemble though. I'm happy that they didn't go with as many soap names as I thought they would. This allows the ensemble to breathe and create their own characters and stars without people expecting them to be their previous roles.

As I've said before, they continue to make the right moves and keep me invested for what's to come.

He really is. This is going to be GOOOD.

Have they cast the teenage kids of the gay couple yet?

He was on Real World DC and then The Bay and Days of Our Lives

This show has a good mix of recognizable faces and newbies. Good job MVJ

His most famous role from soaps is on DAYS as Charlie, Ava's rapist son who eventually got murdered. He was wasted on DAYS, so it's nice to see him bounce back on Beyond the Gates. If there's a guy that a lot of people wanted back on DAYS due to them thirsting over him that had to get cast on Beyond the Gates, I'm happy it's him.

My understanding is these are the CONTRACT actors. We haven't been told anything about recurring characters yet. There could be some additional casting announcements coming. 

To be clear, the "additional casting announcements" I'm referring to would be recurring players and reported by the soap sites.

I think there is, because we're missing "Luis," the personal trainor.

That and with some characters working at a law firm, police, fire and the hospital, there should be recurring characters to help flesh things out at each work place. Mike Manning as a journalist is likely to work in some capacity with Sean Freeman's character, Andre Hamilton, who is a photographer.

Mhmm; I'm also noticing no casting breakdowns mentioned law enforcement.... which I am going to assume is coming, as well, as a "recurring/guest" thing.
