I mean, I know in [some] cultures, lives are celebrated.. but it just doesn't read "funeral" like it is to a lot of people. Engagement party? Gala? Yes.

It's a good promo but for the primetime spots I almost wonder if it would be a good idea to mention it's a new drama, airing 5 episodes a week, to watch live or binge on Paramount Plus.

I mean, I guess the general public still knows what soaps are, but they've been off the radar for SO long. Maybe I'm way off. To me that would be a selling point.

No, I agree wholeheartedly with you. They gotta break it down all the way for the youngsters and those who are a little older and not versed in the internet age and have been following the news of the show.

Lol. No seriously. This is the second promo that has her looking like a combative unhappy woman.

This would probably work better after it starts, but a good promo for the non-soap audience to me would be:

Person walking on treadmill: I watch it in the morning while I work out.
Person in office chair: It's the perfect lunch break when I'm working from home.
Couple in bed: We unwind with it after the kids are in bed.
Person on sofa with popcorn: It's my guilty pleasure weekend binge.

Beyond the Gates: A new drama airing 5 days a week on CBS Daytime or Paramount Plus.

Honestly, most of the people watching this game aren’t watching daytime TV live. This is more so to create awareness and word of mouth about the new show premiering. They might also hope this will drive people to sample it on Paramount+ rather than commit to tune in live each day.

Karla Mosley is one amazingly gorgeous woman. I don't know what your problem is but if I were you, I might think about my words long & hard before I posted the first thing. If there's anything scary about that beautiful black woman, I will eat my hat. IOW, you are wrong. Lovely eyes, not scary, not in the least.

What they are doing with the ads and commercials so far is perfect. It's modern and sharp. Nothing dated. Nothing boring. We have to remember one thing. People don't listen that much to commercials anymore. I remember a study that showed that 37 percent of people Mute their tv while the commercial is going. You can Google it. You have to grab attention with visuals. And they are doing that so far. Memorable visuals. It's 2025 for God Sake.

I'm referring to the character, not the actress.

Reel vs. real, is of course, a thing but it's often hard to be describing physical characteristics & not being hitting the actress rather than the character. Just a thing born of long experience.

You know what you are doing. Don't act like Mr. Innocent. Yes, you are talking about a character. A black woman character. And your description (based on few seconds of promo) is reinforcing a disgusting stereotype. I'm not okay with that. And I'm saying it loud and clear.

I sure can't as I cut the cord long ago even though I work from home, so Paramount it is.
