Ron isn't my favorite writer; however, I have the same feelings as others that him being in a subordinate role means he can't stray too much from the head writers' vision. He's been the showrunner for The Bay for around 13 years. (The Bay has a limited number of episodes per year, but still). I know there are a lot of nerves, but so much joy and a commitment to make this work. Launching a soap in 2025 is unheard of, but the fact that they took such a risk with a Black-led soap makes it so much more meaningful and they know that. The audience and the endless Black actors who have been wasted on soaps deserve this moment. Those pics of the actors certainly display more black faces than anyone else.
