As “Days of our Lives” prepares to say a formal on-screen goodbye to Victor Kiriakis and his portrayer, the late John Aniston, several fan favorites are set to return to the series in tribute, including Jen Lilley (Theresa) and Zach Tinker (Sonny), among others, sources confirm to Soap Opera Network. The actors are set to be a part of the funeral episodes, set to begin airing later this month on the daytime drama series.

For Theresa, she’ll be around to support Brady (Eric Martsolf), her former partner and father to their son, Tate, as Brady mourns his grandfather. Meanwhile, Sonny is Victor’s great-nephew and their bond grew ever closer when Sonny came out as gay in 2011 (when played by Freddie Smith). Despite some concerns, Victor continued loving, supporting, and respecting Sonny after he returned to Salem. In fact, Victor’s only concern about the matter was how other people would react to the news.

Lilley last appeared on “Days of our Lives” in 2018. She joined the series in July 2013, marking Theresa Donovan’s first appearance on the show as an adult. Lilley left the series in November 2016, going on to make a name for herself in several Hallmark Channel and Great American Family movies.

Earlier this year, it was announced she’d be starring in a new holiday movie co-starring Matthew Morrison (“Glee”), titled “Paris Christmas Waltz.” The TV movie will be directed by Michael Damian (“The Young and the Restless”) from an original screenplay he co-wrote with his wife, Janeen Damian.

Tinker joined the “Days of our Lives” family in 2021, first appearing in the spinoff series “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem” (Chapter One). He also played the character in the show’s first Christmas movie, “Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas.” He officially joined the cast of the mothership series in March 2022. Sadly, with little story to tell, the writers wrote Sonny and his partner, Will Horton (Chandler Massey), off the show, with Tinker last appearing as a series regular in December 2022. However, he continued appearing in a recurring capacity throughout early 2023.

In January 2023, Tinker reprised his role of Fenmore Baldwin on “The Young and the Restless” for just one episode, which was dedicated to Tracey E. Bregman, who played his on-screen mother Lauren Fenmore, as she celebrated her 40th year on the show.

Watch a promo from this week’s episodes of “Days of our Lives” wherein Salem begins to learn the fate of Victor Kiriakis, whose plane has gone down.

    • 6-3   I almost let my system just delete the episode just like with B&B. I am now questioning if I should have. lol.   I just can't believe that Cole sat there and started to get sick and then only Victoria off and ran off and everyone basically went back to what they were doing at Nikki's birthday party. Cole was too much of a vet character for that. And now story back off-screen.   I did chuckle at how much Victor pay Kyle dust. And now Kyle with this deal and a promise to leave town if he hurts Claire. smh. As if Victor isn't going to make that happen.   It was lovely to see Ashley. And actually (misdressed and all) Abby.    And I liked Claire's dress.
    • Oh. That. I pretend that never happened.

I did think of another possibility. Did India ever sleep with Alan? They kind of toyed with pairing them up, but I'm not sure they ever became lovers.
    • While I do love the chaotic energy that is Kat vs Lesile, it is a bit extra. Sheltered, virginal Kat who plays it safe from her man to her wardrobe understands that Leslie is dangerous, but she's out here showing up everywhere and anywhere that Lesile is to be found and actively going to places where she is alone? I mean Kat doesn't even act a little afraid or intimidated by Leslie. Meanwhile, big Ole Derek out here begging for his and Ashley's life to Jacob.  As for Dani, I didn't see it that way. Dani and Bill were together for 30 years and shared a family. I believe there was real love there at one point. Bill is still an ass and Dani is still crazy, but realizing she may lose him and her daughter's may lose their dad definitely struck a chord.
    • Funny I randomly saw Kami’s lengthy post about the 44th anniversary of the Walton’s finale last week pop up in my news feed on Facebook. A few inaccuracies to her post but overall it was pretty insightful and interesting to read.
    • Well, depending on rewrites...Jennifer Richards potentially slept with Brandon and Alan. It does feel like we're forgetting someone, but then again, maybe I'm confusing that with brothers, which would include a lot more.
    • Maybe it’s me, and the fact that RC isn’t at the helm, but since Cwikly and Ford have taken over I’ve noticed the show doing a lot of things differently directing wise, and since the storyline of John’s demise began, the show has been using different scores, and dare I say better ones than this time last year. It’s interesting and I wonder if the any of it is Noel Maxam’s influence before being promoted.
    • I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
    • @Efulton thank you. I don't know how I missed it or didn't recall it.  I'll blame amnesia . Anyway @Errol Could the newer thread be merged to the existing? Thanks in advance.
    • I just finished watching and I have to admit, not once did I find myself wondering who wasn't there. Quick question for anyone who followed this better than I did: was it only Andrew who rescued Cat and John from Clyde, or was Shane involved too? The reactions during their scenes today felt a little off to me. I know it was meant to be vague, but I didn't find it strange that they already knew each other.
    • Yeah, financially, Luna is in better shape than Deacon and Sheila.   -- Scott Clifton must have decided to chew the scenery in every scene of this "Liam is Dying" storyline. Yikes.
