But then she flip flopped again (I can't remember why) and was screaming at John when he had his aneurism.   It the same with her rivalry with Belle which never existed until it suddenly did with Ron lol.  I think John and Sami are in an okay place, but she was naming her child after him several years ago and I don't think they are back to that place.

I completely forgot about that aneurysm thing (which never got resolved, right?)! Good grief.

Were Johnny and Allie born when John was briefly "dead" in 2007? That might've tainted Sami's judgment when she named the kid, LOL.

Yeah, John was dead at the time.   So I do get that.  I just remember John/Sami truly burying the hatchet before J&M's 1999 wedding with several good scenes and it goes from one end to the other.   Sami/Stan getting John hooked on drugs being the other end ha ha.

I can't remember if the aneurysm story was resolved.  I think John just stopped having those rage attacks at some point?

Finally, finished today's episode - exciting finale, but a bit frustrating

Why would the marshal's first assumption be that Lani was using drugs?

I know this episode was filmed last winter, but why is Rafe wearing a jacket while Whitley hauls out her deadly space heater in July?

I give it a 6/10

I just felt like it was too much for Alex, when it comes to writing. Instead of having fans start coming around to him gradually, Ron and co. just shoved him down our throats. And in my experience, a lot of soap fans don’t like that. I know I don’t lol it makes me want to do the exact opposite.

And, agreed with what @Michael said about the rewrite of his connection to Adrienne and the Johnsons. Up until this point, for all intents and purposes, Alex was raised as Adrienne’s son. And he and Stephanie would have been raised as cousins. In 2017, Angelica said that he didn’t even speak to her.

I also think it’s fair to ask, would Alex have been shoved down our throats like this if it had been anyone but RSW playing the role?

This Brady/Kristen stuff is still stupid. Why would Kristen back up her demon spawn’s statement? Wouldn’t that open herself to investigation or implicate herself? It’s time they move onto something else in this story.

I did like the Sloan/Trask scenes today The two of them (and Jada too) really need someone to talk to and I hope they continue to have that with each other. Tripp/Wendy mentoring Li was nice too.

I’m also intrigued by the EJ’s DNA arc of that storyline. This could go in so many different directions and I hope it isn’t squandered.

Do you think there was a reason the writing of EJ Dimera on the bag was smudged or was that a prop mistake?  Lol can't be too sure with the budget.

Also, what kind of matchmaker sets up the same people two days in row by mistake?

Do we think this is happening concurrently to the Abe/Lani/Whitley stuff?  Or is it a different day?  Because Belle, Eric, and Brady don't seem to care Marlena almost died because of a nutty patient and Nicole didn't seem to know Abe was alive.

I'm a few days late to the discussion, but I was always under the assumption that the Brady Pub was very close to the pier. So close that sometimes you would even hear that random bell chime outside the pub that you would also hear as background noise on the pier.

Is the Brady Pub supposed to be on the same lot where the Fish Market was?

Meanwhile, the Cheatin' Heart used to be in the sleazy part of town, but in the last 15 years of its constant turnover in restaurants (A coffee shop, Club TBD, Julie's newest restaurant that looks like a breakfast joint for seniors), the area seems to have been gentrified.

Are there dating apps that exist without pictures these days

Yes, the fish market got destroyed somehow (I want to say something to do with the Torres crime family) and John had it rebuilt into Shawn's dream of a pub making Roman mad.

I think that was Victor’s doing. When he first came to Salem, he started buying up all the property on the riverfront. Almost put the fish market out of business

I know Paulina was convinced not to bulldoze the square, but does she still own an interest in the property there.  If so, that new police commissioner was awfully dumb to talk crap about Paulina and Chanel.  I know she's in crisis, but Price Town seems to run itself.  I mean, Maggie works twice as hard as a business owner.

    • I don't expect Lois to be the same person she was 25 years ago, but she's definitely lost a lot of what made Lois unique.  It's clear the show doesn't know how to write for her, and the sole purpose of Lois is to hide this Gio secret.  It's a shame she doesn't interact with more of the canvas.  It's a waste of Rena's talents. I like Brook Kerr most of the time.  She can be hit or miss.  I totally get what you are saying about her line readings too.  I honestly think the character really suffers being stuck in the Curtis pairing.  She's much better than Tanisha Harper's Jordan lol.
    • Friday and yesterday's episode is what daytime television should be. The other shows airing could take a page from yesterday's show.  I loved the rage, hurt and anger Nicole unleashed on Ted.  Daphnee should be up for an Emmy nom for these scenes.  It broke my heart to see how Dana had locked Eva out.  I do feel sorry for Eva.    I am still bumfuzzled as to why Leslie/Dana went to the DuPree's and asked them to accept Kat UNLESS Eva is really Kat's twin (and really Nicole and Ted's daughter that maybe they though they lost or an embryo Dana/Leslie stole??) I loved how Anita and Vernon both shot her down.    Ohhh and let me just say Friday and yesterday was the MOST fire I have seen Martin have since the show started.  Maybe Brandon Clayborn is coming into his own with the role finally.
    • You've been seeing him all along. You just didn't know it was him, I guess.

    • Where to for Dana? She's pissed off the Duprees (most of the cast), alienated her daughter and will she be welcomed by the Have Nots at the diner? Maybe she can befriend Ashley and Derek and liven up their story.
    • Melissa Ordway announced she was moved to recurring back in November but is still credited with the contract cast members.
    • I think of Evan as a smarmy bast*rd. Maybe you'll like that description. You certainly have him pegged correctly since he is just a soldier following "Admiral" Iris's marching orders.
    • So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

P.S Maybe Evan will surprise me. Who knows.
    • The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.
    • So very glad to hear this. Yesterday I suddenly thought; OMG, what about spoilers, have I just  ruined things for Maxim in getting carried away with interest in Evan, who was so well-written & well-acted. BTW, your fan review of this episode was a sight for eyes that had not seen one of these for a little bit too long, LOL!!!  Mitch is also fascinating to me but in his case it's because he was all in with Janice & her nefarious plan & then he did this turnabout we've mentioned & he basically got off scot-free.
