The same with Mitch Lawrence and Alison Perkins on OLTL!

The writers pulled a Michael Baldwin and a JT by having Cameron dig a tunnel to get into the Newman house.  Back in the day however, we would have seen Cameron's methodical process in building the tunnel.  Example, the 90s we saw Michael chipping through the wall over days, we saw Sheila putting together the puzzle pieces,  we even saw Marge testing a forged signature at the bank before replacing Katherine.  Today, villains  say they did XYZ and we don't see any process that goes into their plot.

Please God no. It would be one thing to do a twin story if Cameron was killed off back in the day (like Matt Clark, or Cassie were ). It would be stupid to immediately bring his twin to town just after killing this relatively legacy character.

Overall, I like the story, but it was rushed. The Golden Era writers would've been able to stretch Cameron's return over a year or two and not have it be boring.

Were they serious when Sharon was teasing about the twin? I thought she was proposing the idea and Linden sort of went along with it. I took it as more tongue in cheek than anything else. I didn’t take them seriously.

I still think that Sharon Case was so thrilled to have gotten a story that she wanted to extend it or revive it in some way.

Seriously, this has been the best Y&R has been in a long time.  No fast forwarding.  My eyes were on the screen totally invested.  I didn't cry about the baby, but it was still a great scene and a great episode.  I think this is probably their Emmy shot for next year.

Great interview, but one thing that stood out is Linden liking the rushed storyline pace. He also enjoyed that Cameron came to town fully crazy not methodical or playing mind games.

There in lies the problem. As he acknowledged, for a medium that airs five episodes weekly, burning through material quickly isn't in their best interest. They're rushing through this storyline to return to a state of stasis. Very B&B of them.

I don't mind that Cameron returned ready for action, but the plot didn't have to get resolved so rapidly, especially because this is the most excitement they've had in years.

So why bother? Soaps are supposed to be more than 3 week stories and I can't see any major ramifications coming from this unless Sharon and Nick get together for the umpteenth time.

Sharon investigating her family history and finding a half sibling would be much more satisfying.

Agree with everyone, the Cameron story wrapping up so quick is disappointing.  As pointed out, it seems LA was available for only a short time.  Sharon Case got a story, and she shined, is what I will take away from this.

On another note, I get Adam is the father of Sally's baby, does that give him rights to make medical decisions for Sally?

It also makes no sense that Sally wouldn’t have discussed some advanced medical directive and even appointed someone to ensure that her wishes were followed, considering the fact that she and her OB-GYN both knew her pregnancy was high risk.

Even though Sally was admitted to the clinic, Elena would have called the office of Sally’s OB-GYN and found out what her advanced directives were. I am having a hard time believing this turn of events.

Does Sally really think that Adam should have let her die?  The baby would have had the least chance of survival as she couldn't have been more than 20 weeks into her pregnancy, but I'm sure the writer's didn't bother with that fact.

I don't believe for a second that Cameron is gone. Chance, Sharon, Nick were all distracted with the explosives on Faith, allowing Cameron, who is alive, to escape with help from "Jimmy" or someone else, and the missing cop that escorted Faith to the airport was put in Cameron's place to look like him. Think back to the original story line when Cameron had Gabe put Frank Barritt in Cameron's tuxedo to make Sharon think it was Cameron.

    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
    • The Bell soaps, B&B and Y&R: cannot watch. If I went by the last time I did I would have to give them both D- but I really don't think it counts when you're not a daily watcher.  DAYS: B+ (Now this is with the knowledge that for years I have given this show a D- because I've been a fan for too long to give it the F it deserved.) GH: A+ (With Korte driving this bus to me the show is so much better! IMO we just had the best NB in so many years I cannot count!) BTG: A solid (Things I love, a few I do not, nothing I hate, still find it in general remarkable.) As always, thanks for doing this thread. I count it. I always look for it & I always post.
    • Okay, I continue to maintain that what is so good about this particular reveal followed by umbrella storyline is that you can see & understand many different points of view where there is not one bad guy or one 100% right person.  About your stated opinion, that Lois & Gloria did the right thing, you know that this was technically an illegal adoption? For it to have been legal the father, if known, would have to have been informed & have signed off on terminating his own paternal rights. And, of course, it is clear how many people they lied to.  Personally I feel like Lois is going to take the biggest "public" blame with Lulu a close second in the blame category. I am looking forward to a tongue lashing I hope Brook Lynn gives to Gloria. I continue to be more than annoyed with Dante. First his attitude toward Gio with regards to Rocco & a drinking game & its results. Second his attitude toward Lulu. Meanwhile enjoying the show every day!
    • Lois and Gloria did the right thing I feel knowing it was Camila that raised Gio has BL feeling some jealousy No one is saying that Camila was a bad mother to Gio I believe it will be Gio saying that Camila was great to him, thanking Lois and Gloria to get BL to see truth
    • Its realistic for Dani and  true of how the character thinks and operates. We've known her long enough to by that this would be consistent with her past characterizatioin
    • Random takes: - What was even the point of that jeweler guy? Also—Dani was borderline harassing him. - I know I’m probably in the minority here, but I want Jacob and Kat to happen. I need something messy to completely dismantle the Duprees—and Katomas just isn’t cutting it.  - I officially can’t stand Jacob and his wife. Same goes for Anita and Vernon. - Hayley’s corset was just as ugly as it looked uncomfortable. - I genuinely don’t remember when or how Derek and Ashley reconciled—and I’m someone who didn’t even mind their storyline! LMAO. - Tuesday’s episode was a mess. - Dani finding out about Hayley’s pregnancy and immediately thinking, “She’s faking it”—huh?! What writer thought that was a realistic reaction? I get denial, but that leap was absurd. I agree the ‘Leslie Victorious’ moment was way OTT. But hey, at least I wasn’t yawning. The following episode, where she handed over her daughter’s last few belongings was much better. - I can’t with the constant back-and-forth between Orphey Gene’s and the Country Club. I forgot this was such a soap trope, but even back in my loyal viewer days (late ‘90s, early 2000s), it wasn’t this bad. While GH has a ton of beautiful sets, we’re stuck with the same three—and half of them are ugly. Also: it’s been way too long since we had a party, gala, or any kind of event. I know the Richardsons’ anniversary gala (back in late April) has had a big ripple effect, but I was kinda getting used to those large-scale episodes. Fingers crossed they don’t go with Guza.
