…also, in an example of how YR has always been the “smarter” soap, did anyone catch the parallels between the “mums” in this episode.

- Kyle’s joy at Diane homecoming

- Devon’s surprise at seeing Harmony

- Summer’s anxiety at keeping her secret about Summer

Each child/mother relationships is unique and drove today’s story forward in different ways.

Last week, The scenes I really liked was Jack sitting alone in his office while Jack and Phyllis flashbacks played,

Elena doing her monologue while the same time showing Nate and Vicotria getting busy.

Also, I was watching James Lott Jr's livestream, he did an interview with Stafford recently and he said, she told him the stuff they are filming now for this Phyllis story gets really controversial. I can only imagine whatever that could be.

One funny thing about Kyle Abbott is that the portrayer is so tall, that he breaks any of the forced perspective illusions they try to create on the sets. When he ran into the Abbott mansion to the stairs, you could tell they were far from grand and like a ladder with steps. He's just a little too tall and too lanky for the illusions to work.

I think him or, they just asked Susan Walter's husband to come back. so, Matt or Cameron is my guess.

I think you've said you'd like or, think Eddie would be the one to play Matt again, if it's him, I have a question. I never saw the Carter Mills plastic surgery story. What was Ric Hearst like as Matt? Was he good or not really.

In a way, I wish Ric Hearst had played Matt all along.  He's certainly a better actor than Eddie Cibrian, lol.

I'm sure I hated the Carter Mills story at the time, because I've NEVER been fond of stories where characters can deceive others through plastic surgery.  (No one's looks change THAT much, lol).   But, if I were to compare it to Y&R today, I'd probably reconsider it as being among the show's very best, lol.

ETA: I do remember liking Sabryn Genet's work in that storyline, though!  I don't always like when a female character goes insane; I think it's cliched and very misogynistic.  But she played the full-tilt-boogie-crazy stuff very well, lol.

Man, I hope it's not Linden Ashby/Cameron Kirsten.  IIRC, that story between him and Sharon was so ugly and brutal.  If Linden wants to come back to daytime, or to Y&R, I'd much rather it be as a new character.

    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
