Como agua para chocolate (Like Water For Chocolate)

It was such a great movie! It combines comedy, drama, sex, and cooking. It's erotic, but not overly-graphic like most Spanish-language movies. It's also one of the best Spanish-language movies that I have seen, and while it uses a lot of magical realism, it's not confusing or hard to follow.

Yeah, the ending was so weird! It kind of ruined the movie because I thought that the beginning was good. There are better movies by Pedro Almodovar. Hable con ella is really good. I had to watch it for my Spanish class last semester. The ending's kind of surprising, but it makes sense.

I will have to check that one out. Someone also told me (in another group) that Motorcycle Diaries was good too. I think it stars the guy who played in Bad Education.

I think I may have gotten an edited version of Bad Education as someone told there was an explicit sex scene in it but my version did not have it. I got it from Blockbuster. Of course I was also working on my computer at the same time and could have missed the sex scene but I don't think so.

Oh and yes the ending was weird but Testostorone still has the weirdest. I think that was the worse movie in many ways. It was just too ridiculous for me.

I have a very wide range of likes in movies and even have liked some pretty weird or crazy movies (Zoolander for instance) but the ending and other things in Testostorone were too way out there for even me.

Yeah, Motorcycle Diaries is really good. Gael Garcia Bernal is in it, and it's more of an American-type movie because I think Robert Redford produced it or something. I don't even think there's any sex in it, and the only reason it's rated R is because of the language.

The version that I saw was rated NC-17, and there was supposed to be one graphic sex scene...but I didn't see it.

A few friends, my roommate, and I watched Bridget Jones's Diary in our room. It's my favourite movie!! It's so funny and both Hugh Grant and Colin Firth are so sexy!!

We're watching the sequel, Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason in a few minutes. It's not as good as the first one, but it's still very funny!

I agree about Urban Legend. I like those movies. They scare kids. That's funny.

I saw Wicker Park. I was expecting something along the lines of Swimfan with the hot, crazy, psycho-!@#$%^&*] who falls in love with the guy who's with the All-American girl and then she tries and kill the girl. But I thought Wicker Park was boring and I'm glad I got it free from the library. I only liked the fact that Josh Hartnett and Matthew Lilliard were both unknowingly having sex with the same chick who they both considered thier girlfriend. She was playing like everyone in the movie and that's about all I liked. It took too long to develop suspense and drama so I don't recommend renting it.

    • Also, in a long-ago news report about the backstage goings-on of the show, the host opened the segment by giving historical facts about AW, including Bay City's location being in Michigan. The clip is, or at least was at one point, available on Youtube. I watched it twice. Somerset, the spin-off sister soap, was explicitly acknowledged to be in Michigan too. When Heather Lawrence was told by her mother, Eve, that they were moving there permanently, Heather complained about not wanting to go to that, "dreary little town in Michigan." On a talk show once (it might have been Merv Griffin; I forget), Audra Lindley spoke about her career pre-Three's Company. She said, "I was on a soap opera for years called Another World. It was set in Bay City, Michigan...." And then she elaborated on her antagonistic character of Liz Matthews. Finally, even Google has its say: "Yes, Somerset, a township in Huron County, Michigan, is relatively close to Bay City. It's located to the north-east of Bay City, and the drive is generally less than an hour. The two towns are linked by the Saginaw River and Lake Huron, according to a local information source." The two towns, whose names at least exist in real life, were always said on-air to be close to each other and separated by water. The opening logo of Somerset even had a visual depiction of this. Why TPTB at P&G later changed AW from Michigan to Illinois, who knows? Maybe they just made the arbitrary/pointless decision to set AW, TGL and ATWT in the same state. Maybe those in charge were just ignorant of the facts and didn't care about consistency and continuity. Remember this is a company which mandated dropping the article THE from The Guiding Light and The Edge of Night in order to "modernize" the shows and "attract a younger audience." (If anyone can explain the irrational logic of that loopy decision, let me know, LOL.) So, yes, Bay City was originally set in Michigan. There is a real Bay City in that state, just like there's a Genoa City, Wisconsin on Y&R and a real Genoa City in Wisconsin. Retcons and historical inaccuracies are not uncommon on soaps, alas.
    • It just reinforces everything that's wrong with this couple and this show, doesn't it? It's not romantic, it's not sexy, it's not anything. Instead, I end up thinking about the set -- how long it took to put up even more greenery to remind us we're in the park, that the weather in WI must be really mild to produce those full-bloom roses, and how adorable that they've added tables so people can carry Panera there to eat.
    • Yeah... Joss needs to die. So sick of her. And it would be so nice if the professor did it. Btw, ruining Emma is not gonna make people like Joss. It's just gonna make us like Emma more. Luckily, I enjoyed the rest of the episode. And yes, Gio did look hot

I was totally here for Brook Lynn vs. Lulu, even though I'm Team Brook Lynn. This confrontation definitely need to happen and I hope it's the first of many. I'm curious to see what's going to happen from here. I don't like Ric all that much, but he was kickin' ass today. Hopefully, this leads to Willow getting custody. I did feel bad for Sasha though. I'm still loving how we have to hate Boyle even though he's 100% correct  And yeah, I still don't know what they're doing with Lucky and Liz but I liked their scenes today. They're so good together, and honestly, they should become like Dante and Sam: a couple with no conflict lol I think they've earned their happily ever after.
    • For real. Can she at least go to Orphey Genes on lunch break? There's so much mess that she hasnt seen and we missed her commentary
    • They had a brief affair before Sonni left to take a job out of state. He liked that she knew nothing about his past and she liked that he knew nothing about hers. I don't think they built much more story around them. As I believe someone mentioned, Forbes was not interested in staying on soaps.
    • But he's the only one of John's kids who can carry on his legacy

    • Yes and they were a sister group to the Primes which was a group that had members who went on to become Temptations. The Primettes are portrayed to a small extent in the Temptations biopic.
    • These pictures from the May 20 episode didn't inspire you? (sarcasm)
