   Yeah, right. I thought we'd moved past the "bi" thing sticking your toes in the water stuff. I know anytime I had a man tell me he was "bi" I told him to back the hell up and leave me alone!

I'm listening to glistening orchestral soul today, Ronnie Dyson "If You Let Me Make Love To You (Then Why Can't I Touch You)" Sylph, you'll love the strings in this one:

This song was from the broadway show "Salvation". the show wans't a huge hit, but this song was, going to number 8 in the spring of 1970.

The sorta skipping elfin quality? :P Are you calling me homophobic :P I actually don't think his music's too good--it is a LOT like Scissor Sisters--the mix of disco hommage with Elton John hommage--but he doesn't want to alienate the middle aged mothers and young girls so doesn't even have a bit of their edge or sense of fun (I mean he did a single that was a song to overweight girls and how beautiful they are which is a good message but the song was so simplistic random that it seemed insulting to me). I don't think hes' a very good songwriter.

I'm falling in love with another new discovery of mine from the 70's, Richard Barnes:

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="420" height="339"><param name="movie" value="http://www.123video.nl/123video_share.swf?mediaSrc=440351" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><embed src="http://www.123video.nl/123video_share.swf?mediaSrc=440351" quality="high" width="420" height="339" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /></object>

This song barely squeaked into the UK top 40, but DAMN if he and it aren't GORGEOUS. This song kind of reminds of early Bee Gees hits.

My good friend Stephanie Campbell did a great interview with legendary record industry mixer Tom Moulton, responsible for the mixes of so many legendary disco hits, and the inventor of the 12 inch single. Interesting interview !:

This is one of my favorite dance mixes by Tom, the dance mix of Grace Jones' "I Need a Man" from 1977:

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
    • Nah I enjoyed it much more last year because of the Harry plot that ended during that time. Nazar being introduced and them. But this time it is so lame and nothing I like forward to anymore and I’m one of them long time fans. Of course I would be upset if they would cancel it but maybe take a year off or two and return refreshed
    • came across this quote that provides some context: “It’s hard to escape the cultural reach of the Catholic Church when you live in the Western world. It is, for better or worse, one of the load-bearing walls of our civilization. Its influence wafts from the church into the streets of civic life, the courts, the schools, the arts.”
    • Yesterday's show:   Can they give Ambyr Michelle the Emmy for supporting actress already?   Truly enjoyed the episode from Leslie and Eva, Eva and Ted, Nicole and Dani to Anita and Nicole.
    • For anyone who missed part of yesterday due to the Pope news: BTG Episode #48 - May 8th cbs.com https://www.cbs.com/shows/video/vEQupDSVKChQKTvVWgX8mrUj2kCJEQTv/  paramountplus https://www.paramountplus.com/shows/video/vEQupDSVKChQKTvVWgX8mrUj2kCJEQTv/

    • Yes, I noticed after discovering Chandler was in several episodes. It's a shame it was canceled. I'm glad I was able to watch Chandler's episodes.
    • I'm Catholic, and I care, as do many who aren't Catholic. No need to be so nasty about it.. The whole episode was on Paramount Plus. That is where I watched it..
