I can’t believe we’re watching two characters in their 30’s doing parent trap.  At least when Lindsay Lohan did it, she was 10.  LOL

I wanted to see that too. And I want to see Ridge talking to Steffy about her taking his phone.  At least have some tension between them.

Bill SR despised Brooke, she showed up at party he had UNINVITED and he dragged her hard!!

Bill hated Brooke for years, used to call her "trash and tramp" and things like that till he was Loganized

So again who's pushing a narrative about both Bill's hating Brooke? at least SR had brains to stay hating her

That wasn't Bill Sr's party, that was the Christmas party of 1992 at the Forrester mansion. Bill didn't even really know Brooke so he was basically just relating what he had heard (most likely from Stephanie). There was no personal relationship at all between these two characters. He was just reacting (as everyone else was) to Brooke showing up uninvited to the Forrester party where nobody wanted her to be.

Wouldn't Bill SR original reasons for disliking Brooke revolve around Caroline? Except by 1992, Caroline had died and Brooke helped Caroline during the last months. It seems SR would be grateful - as much as he could be - for Brooke being there for his beloved daughter. The narrative doesn't make a lot of sense based on what actually happened and how rarely SR + Brooke crossed paths.

I never really understood Bills hatred for Hope, Besides the fact he obviously wishes he was with Steffy, and pushed Liam on her only for that reason alone. The story is so contrived anyways, but really I can’t help but think if this were an NBC soap, Steffy would be the conniving bitch who would face the wrath of the equally conniving and protective in-law who would want them no one near their son (like Kate with Sami or Ivy with Theresa)

From what I recall, he didn't necessarily dislike Brooke. He would throw out some jabs about her because of her past scandals. One thing that he said which didn't make much sense, is that he thought Hope was wrong for Liam because she brought "drama" everyone with her, like her mother....Then like 6 months later is when "Brill" began.

I think when Hope was with Wyatt, Bill warmed up to her,  yet when it comes to her and Liam, he constantly backtracks from thinking "they belong together", to him saying "Steffy made you a better man son"

sigh...I swear this show....This plot convoluted hot mess of a show....

It seemed like Bill liked Steffy more than Hope because he was sexually attracted to her, and did in fact sleep with her... which you would think would make her an unsuitable wife to Liam considering she cheated on Liam with him.

 It makes zero sense.

I've never understood why it seemed like she was rewarded for her slutty behavior, while constantly allowed to bash Brooke and the Logans....I feel like she was probably Stephanie and Taylor's revenge against Brooke, because they both should have shamed her for her actions....I mean for gods sake didn't she try to seduce Oliver when Hope and her family were attending Beth's (Sr's) funeral?

    • I very much liked office Cleary and the actress who portrayed her (as you say, Mary Peterson).  A shame her turn didn't evolve into a contract role.   BTW, does anyone know the timeframe/years that Betty Rae served as casting director?  If i understand correctly, she not only led the effort for contract roles, but also for shorter 13- and 26-week roles.  IMO, GL had LOTS of very well-casted, limited roles, too. I'm surprised the actors throughout the soap industry, and especially P&G actors, have not assembled a book or something similar, praising Rae.  Each actor could write a few paragraphs or a page of text describing his or her experience.
    • No. Ruth had an extramarital affair with David while married to Joe.
    • I'm not sure I agree with Bernstein's children on that. Bernstein's life and activism here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein#Social_activism_and_humanitarian_efforts
    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
