I have to say I feel a little badly for Scott Clifton.  I never cared for him - there was a year at the Emmys when he was younger - and I think he was up for younger actor and that year Tom Pelphry won, and Scott looked kinda sour.  Which I didn't really understand because I think he had lost in the same category to someone on General Hospital before.  I don't remember totally but I didn't like him because a camera shot caught him looking sour.  I specifically also remember the guy who played Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) - same thing.  Sour lookin' when he lost.

But recently - a year or two ago - someone brought up to him in an interview the total overkill on Liam/Hope/Steffy, and who will end up with Liam? Who will he choose?  What will he do now that he's chosen (something like that).  And he said hopefully he uses tissues over the next year.

And I thought - well he gets it.  He completely understands it's overkill and so now I feel badly for him.

On GH Clifton was a supporting cast member at best but on BB Bradley turned Clifton into a lead actor which imo was wrong. Neither he nor his character are lead material.

Bradley did the same with Don Diamont.

Grace is so annoying and one-note. Cassandra Creech deserves better. The dialogue writers need to do better.

Both CC and Naomi Matsuda both play their roles with that overly theatrical, somewhat stiff style.

Ugh, watched a little today.  And that's enough.  LOL.  Was only a matter of time that Sheila knows the guard, knows the whole police force, knows the person driving her to another prison, had a baby with someone else (baby now an adult and appreciates her so much that they'll break her out of jail, out of the psych ward, etc. ).....and on and on.  Blah.  I may try to watch just to see the Quinn/Carter/Eric antics but Sheila is FF material.  I had even briefly enjoyed Li.  The writers will wreck anything for Sheila though.

Pelphrey? Yeah, Clifton didn't stand a prayer and I wasn't a Pelphrey fan. Well I mean, I guess he kind of grew on me several years later. I remember that sour look on Clifton's face though, lol! Yeah, I'd say just take a deep breath, take it all in, exhale slowly, and just find it honorable to have been nominated in the acting category.

Bringing back James would be awesome indeed! That said: never in a million years did I imagine to have Mike Guthrie back in town. The 2010 return was so random when he gave Stephen (or was it Pam?) a gun. Even though the last 12 years did not go by on him without ageing

    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
