Webmaster Errol Posted March 20, 2022 Webmaster Share Posted March 20, 2022 Daytime talk show “Maury” will cease production later this year after a 24 season run in national syndication. The series is hosted and executive produced by veteran journalist Maury Povich. Exploring issues that affect relationships and families, “Maury” covered topical items from the news, talent shows and psychic phenomena. The show provided a platform for the unheard to tell their story including popular staples like “Who’s the Father,” which uses a paternity test to determine the correct baby daddy, and telling the truth from lies through a polygraph test. During the 2019-2020 season, “Maury” averaged 1.7 million viewers, ranking in the top 3 among syndicated talk in Adults 18-49 for the ninth consecutive season. Among Adults 25-54, the show ranked number one or number two during that season in New York (WPIX: #1), Philadelphia (WPHL: #1), Dallas (KDAF: #1), Washington DC (WDCW: #2), Houston (KIAH: #1), Boston (WLVI: #1), and Atlanta (WATL: #1). For the week of February 28-March 4, 2022, the most recent week in which ratings are available for syndicated television, “Maury” tied for sixth place among talk shows with the also canceled “The Wendy Williams Show,” each with a 0.7 rating in Households. In Women 25-54, the show is tied with “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” each with a 0.4 rating. Only “Dr. Phil” and “Live with Kelly and Ryan” rated better in the demo. Produced by NBCUniversal Syndication Studios, “Maury” is the third consecutive syndicated series hosted by Povich. From 1986-1990, he hosted “A Current Affair” for FOX. He followed that up with Paramount’s “The Maury Povich Show” from 1991-1998. “Maury debuted in 1998 and will continue to air originals through September. Reruns will be available to stations thereafter similar to “The Jerry Springer Show,” which is currently in its fifth season airing repeats after 28 seasons airing originals. Broadcasting & Cable first reported the end of the “Maury” show. Note: The post ‘Maury’ to Conclude After 24 Seasons in National Syndication appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. Members j swift
I still confuse Maury and Jerry, and I thought Maury had already been cancelled. His ratings are amazing, but it is sort of sad that both Maury and his wife Connie Chung have tarnished reputations based on "trash talk tv" given that both are so charming and self-aware in interviews. However, it is remarkable that Jerry lives on and 18% of the show's life has been in repeats. I wonder how many people realize that it ceased production and they are watching shows produced in the early 2000s?

Members DaytimeFan
I really enjoy both Maury and Connie. I hope they have laughed all the way to the bank.
Members j swift
Their huge Manhattan apartment (one of their five homes) was featured in a design magazine recently and let's just say, their talk may be trashy but their taste is divine. To quote my other post about the rumored cancellations of The Real & Judge Jerry Edited March 21, 2022 by j swift
