It’s too stupid for words. Granted, the whole story was stupid, so it’s a blessing that it’s over, but this is the pattern. Dumb sh!t drawn out, then abandoned.

Jason Thompson deserves better because he’s actually doing good work.

In service of bullsh!t.

Whatever happened to ashland? He seems to have become a supporting character when he should be instigating stuff.

Devon needs to guzzle a giant can of STFU. He agreed to be a sperm donor. Abby and Chance are giving him access to Dom and he's acting all put out that he can't have a bigger role in the kid's life. Too bad.

Traci was drafted in to replace Jack in her scenes.

I don’t know what they’re doing with Devon. It’s one thing to give him a sense of regret, or if they really pushed the idea that Abby and Chance were neglectful parents. (Or if Chance was having PTSD that made him potentially dangerous. They’ve toyed with it.) But this makes him look terrible, and the resulting drama isn’t strong enough to be worth it.

The surrogate story has been an albatross for all involved.

This is why I hate surrogacy storylines on soaps: the sperm/egg donor inevitably becomes so attached to the baby that they end up making life hell for the couple who would otherwise be childless.  It's become a cliche, and it paints a very negligent picture of surrogacy.

Y&R under the current powers that be are in the process of ruining yet another character.  This time, Devon, who's being an a-hole for thinking about suing for custody when he agreed and signed paperwork to say he would have no ties to Dominic.   What's next?  Amanda, saying she snuck a clause in so that Devon can get Dominic away from Abby & Chance?  SMFH

If this ends with Devon abducting that kid....

I just watched it. Wow. That’s it. The story is over just like that. And somehow this is supposed to shake Adam to his core. Top tier writing.

Totally pointless and a waste of time. In a just world, the plot would have backfired and taken Billy off canvas for a spell. But nope. Just a womp-womp ending to a crap yet overplayed story.

Pretty much. Yikes!

If anything at the very least I think better drama would come out of it if Devon began desperately wanting his own son and began pressing Amanda to bore and/or adopt a child. Amanda is very hesitant/reluctant about it as she wants to be more stability and also a bit apprehensive about it as she remembers Hilary was pregnant when she died. Imani however becomes close to Devon and a lot more open to hearing of Devon’s plight, causing friction between the three.

But the show would actually have to write for Imani….

Imani reappears to flirt with Nate - again, and Elena grimaces.

They needn't have bothered taping that scene as it's been played several times. Just insert it from a previous ep.

As for high drama, Phyllis is being sued by an unhappy client over the Escrap Club. Several minutes were spent on that nonsense.

Business intrigue in the corridor at Newman Media.

Amanda and Imani are going great guns at their new law firm! You know, the  one we have never seen .

Either the higher-ups have interfered yet again, or Josh Griffith simply has no idea what TF he's doing anymore.

Or both.

    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
    • Luna parachutes herself into Llanview at the end of September 15th 1991.
    • That lengthy flashback does make me wonder if she threw out a lot, but I agree it may have been too easy an urban legend. Would these have been her very first episodes? I imagine you could feel the big difference when Bobbie arrived, alongside the Quartermaines filing in, the return of Heather, and Lesley/Rick/Monica/Alan heating up. It does remind me that there must have been some dud moments in the 60-minute format we just don't see because little of the period is available in full.  I wonder how much longer the Dantes lasted under Marland.  David Hamilton is so disgusting. I appreciate the show making him disgust as some shows when they have stories about older men or women manipulating teens aren't as honest.  I can't see this Rick being friends with him. Chris Robinson's Rick, on the other hand, I could believe.
    • One more question, do you know the start date for Luna? If it’s close that maybe I’ll start there to be fair.
