I am loving Thomas and Paris and their chemistry. The way that Thomas looks at her is very romantic and I like this more mature/acting right version of him. He's been extra sexy lately (yes IMO with the man bun factored in lol), with the way he's been looking and flashing his dimpled smile at her. He is smitten and I am looking forward to seeing more of them together. I also liked how him and Zende were matching in their black suits today and their interaction together. They both looked cute lol and I liked Paris's outfit today as well.

Hope is actually interesting with Deacon and I continue to like their father daughter/chemistry and Shelia/Deacon.

Once about every five years, I am reminded why I keep watching B&B in spite of myself. Suffering through endless repetitive episodes with no storylines and no character development, hoping for a glimmer of hope, waiting for something good to happen but it never does, and then suddenly, there is this unexpected moment where the show manages to be randomly brilliant.

Sheila/Deacon is one of those rare moments of brilliance.

Putting these two in a scene together just works, instantly. And it's definitely all thanks to Sean Kanan and Kimberlin Brown. I still think the writing itself is really not that good - the scripted dialogue could be subtler and more intelligent (after all, both Sheila and Deacon have always been quick-witted characters and are certainly capable of cleverer insults than calling each other "crazy" or "an idiot") and the basic premise (they are both outcasts and they should team up to get what they want) was repeated a few too many times. But on the other hand, Sheila and Deacon could read the phone book to each other and those scenes would still be magic. They are just that good.

I don't have very high hopes for the actual storyline. But for now, it's a joy just watching these two powerhouse veterans, with their long and rich history on the show, simply do their thing.

The Eric/Carter/Quinn story is bad enough, but having a lot of other characters meddle in it does make the story even worse. But I do think that some of the stuff that Ridge has been saying is funny. The way he told Quinn that she gets to sleep with Carter, and act like it's a sacrifice while Eric sits at home with two martinis waiting for her to show up made me laugh. Also when he told Carter that if he had learned about the ED sooner him and Carter could have helped Eric. It's just some of the stuff he says about this situation and the way he says it. Though, is being overbearing and meddlesome and this story is a mess lol.

I continue to love Paris/Thomas. Their chemistry is good and continues to get even better IMO. Thomas really does seem like he's into her and I'm digging this "act right" version of him. He's so much better & sexier when he's not acting crazed/obsessed over Hope. He definitely seems to have feelings a romantic interest in Paris/but he is also being respectful and is being a good friend to her. I'm looking forward to watching more of their story/ romance. That and Deacon/Shelia and believe it or not Deacon/Hope (their father/daughter chemistry is good) trying to bond are the best parts of the show for me right now.

I just checked on Paramount, I have allowed myself to get 42 episodes behind.

It was so easy for me to breeze through a week of episodes in a night, I got lazy. Here we go…

    • no argument here! and as she was singing, i kept wondering how many verses ‘amazing grace’ had. looked it up: 13 — 13! — and i think she must have sung  every one.
    • Yasss, ANITA!!! GET HER!!!   Awww at Smitty calming Martin down.   'Oh, you're the one leaving.' That face like stone. Go 'head, Nicole.    Eva vs Kat...the gift that keeps giving.
    • I have to admit I still have a nagging complaint about timelines - Why aren't we allowed to know how long Ted and Nicole have been married or how old Kat and Eva are? Or for that matter, when Anita last released an album? BTG is a new show with no SORAS or timewarping. MVJ and Guza are working from a fresh bible. There is no need to be so coy about ages and anniversaries, especially when most of the storylines are driven by past events.
    • It was an extremely rare interview even then - I was shocked when I read it (as mentioned I'd forgotten just how far in she went). You could see how hurt and annoyed she was. I'm surprised he thought she came up with the baby story herself. She and Charles Keating did a good job with the material but it was absolute hokum. Even if they loved Carl and Rachel (and clearly they did), I don't see them coming up with stuff that, frankly, read like Geocities fan fic. Malone was clearly hobbled by NBC and P&G, but re-using so many of his old stories and his soap bible instead of actually coming up with material suited to the characters or show did not help.
    • Seeing this trash get good ratings says nothing good about daytime audiences. It's embarrassing.
    • Cat does feel committed to being a goofball (the other term has been reconsidered in recent years).  I wonder, given her brother Aaron, if Cat was less attractive prior to the surgery?  Remember the 1973 movie The Girl Most Likely to?  My fanfic for the moment is Cat commenting on how people treat her differently now that she is gorgeous.  One assumes that pre-surgery, Cat never had two men fighting over her for a date.  So, it might be fun to see that side of the story.
    • It's probably one of the only conflicts the story will have, aside from Dante being upset with Lulu when the truth comes out. They really needed someone else who actually knows Gio is Dante and Brook Lyn's son and kept quiet.
    • So Cat wasn't a creation of Ron C.. but something that the strike writers generated? Perhaps the new writers will give her some layers and purpose on the show that doesn't revolve around Chad since isn't he on his way out next year?
    • Another good show today, but -- Why is super agent Joss holding that thumb drive in plain sight instead of stashing it in her denim shorts? Make it make sense. -- Dante going after Gio (in the previews) for Rocco's alcohol poisoning is lame and cliche, just a contrived way to drive a wedge between father and son.
    • Didn't he get all angry because the strike writers set her up to be Abigail? And he just went with the first thing that came to mind in order to prevent that?
