To me she will always be remembered for Wimbledon, especially the Ladies Final 1993 when an inconsolable Jana Novotna cried on her shoulder after collapsing against Steffi Graf.

Today marks the 24th anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks in NYC, Washington DC and Pennsylvania respectively where 2,996 people were killed after the 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked 4 aircrafts sending 2 destroying the World Trade Center in NYC, third one crashed into the Pentagon in Arlington, VA and the fourth one crashed near the field in Shanksville,Pa. That was happened when I was 1 year old in 2001.

I still remember that morning, getting dressed to attend my morning classes where I was earning my undergrad degree at the time, and Mama Khan coming in my room to tell me that someone had flown a plane into the WTC and that "the guy who played Frasier" was among those killed.  (Of course, she misheard that last part.  It wasn't Kelsey Grammer who was killed but one of his show's co-creators and EP's, David Angell).

She was a good person. She taught music at a primary school hundreds of miles away from London in the city of Hull, in secret, for 13 years, going by the name Mrs. Kent - only the headmaster knew who she was.

When she retired from active royal duties, she launched a charity, Future Talent, that is still going strong nearly 25 years later, which funds music education for children who cannot afford access to it.

She loved all kinds of music, from classical to pop to Dido, to Eminem and Ice Cube.

And of course, nobody who enjoys tennis will forget her kindness to players at Wimbledon:

I remember being a child and just coming home from the cinema with my older cousin(I am not from the USA) What was happening was on the television and my kid mind thought it was a movie. I never knew it was real till time passed.

Thanks @jam6242 I had no idea he co-wrote the DAYS theme, or that he co-wrote so many of the best pop songs of the '60s. "Hurt So Bad" alone is a masterpiece.

Eerie this is right around the premiere of The Monkees.
