‘Always Young and Restless,’ A Memoir by ‘Y&R’s’ Melody Thomas Scott Gets New Release Date

“The Young and the Restless'” Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) announced on Twitter yesterday that the release date of her memoir, “Always Young and Restless: My Life On and Off America’s #1 Daytime Drama,” has been pushed back.

“The new release date is August 18 (due to…you know). Spoke to my publisher this morning,” said the actress, referring to the coronavirus pandemic. “That date should remain solid. Can’t wait for you all to read! Stay safe!” she continued.

“Even though I have spent almost my entire life as an actress and performer, I have kept my private life well behind the scenes,” said Scott in a statement released to TVInsider in announcing the memoir back in March. “Now, I am ready to share these stories of survival and success that have shaped me into who I am today.”

The book’s description promises to share how the actress “suffered at home with her grandmother, a compulsive hoarder, whose cruelty as her guardian is shockingly extreme, and endured abuse at the hands of industry men; what it was like to act in feature films with Alfred Hitchcock, John Wayne, and Clint Eastwood; and how she took control of her life and career in a daring getaway move.
