Don't want to use the word "disaster" but this vaccine rollout has been far from ideal, to say the least.

Just found out that a colleague died of COVID-19 a few days ago. I hadn't been in touch with him for a number of years. At first, I felt oddly numb and then I began to remember be bits, hos personality quirks and moments of kindness and generosity and it made me smile, even giggle but now, I feel inexplicably and unbelievably down.

I'm sorry about your loss.

I don't think it's uncharitable to say the vaccine rollout has been abysmal, and sadly, exactly as expected. I saw a tweet saying this is the result of 40 years of demonizing and tearing down government efficiency. Trump and his flunkies never gave a damn about the vaccine rollout - they just wanted to come up with a clever name like "Operation Warp Speed" (and amazingly got lots of unearned preemptive praise from many who should have known better - as always).

This was sobering but pretty much accurate.

I'm so sorry for your loss, @DramatistDreamer.  And I hope you're looking out for your mental and physical well-being, too.

You know, there's nothing wrong with wanting to pray for our nation.  But, for God's sake, Cameron: PUT ON A DAMN MASK.

"Disastrous" almost doesn't cover how the Trump administration has handled everything related to this pandemic.

Thanks for the well-wishes, @Khan

2020 was a tough year for all of and the loss of live has been unfathomable. It's probably a combination of that and feeling momentarily overwhelmed. We will all get through this.

From the looks of it, Great Britain barely knows what it's doing as well.

America's inhumane, overcrowded and little-considered prison system is really buckling under the weight of the pandemic.

Another Trump-loving Republican legislator has died - this time, a 60-year old Virginia state senator.

You can guess how he felt about masks.

This should be implemented in every state.

It took them long enough. Agreed, it should be mandatory in all states.

I can't believe legislation was even NEEDED.  I mean, common sense SHOULD tell people NOT to assault anyone who's simply looking out for everyone's well-being.

It's sad, isn't it? *shakes head*

Another Republican state legislator. The official claim does not mention COVID, but he came down with it last month.
