I feel like it was the rush. DAYS told her she had five days to get ready and obvious she'd have to memorize dialogue as well. Due to the rush of it she could've assumed they asked Louise and she said no hence the need for an emergency recast. I still think DAYS did it on purpose for a little casting buzz and never asked Louise to return.

lol, I agree with you on Robin

It felt rushed so I do believe that part. I also think they wanted Robin for some buzz, but I also can believe Louise might have turned them down for such a quick visit in such a quick turn-around. There's definitely a little more to this than we're getting. I'm just glad Louise agreed to return. I think most folks panicked when she was unhappy with leaving in 2018 (that felt rushed then too) and that she'd never come back, then the Robin recasting ... so I'm guessing this return is longer than a drive by but who knows?

I'm glad she's back in the role.

Robin said she left Louise a message once she arrived in Burbank. I think Robin was going to accept the offer with or without Louise's blessing and figured it was best not to reach out at all at the risk of looking disingenuous had Louise not given her said blessing. I just find it extremely suspicious that Louise was given such short notice to return. There are so many people involved on a television show, so many working parts, planning, and organizing going on behind the scenes. I can absolutely see someone being offered a last minute recast position but giving they're vet less than a week notice seems unusual.

Also, you know damn well Robin would see red had she been unemployed and they approached another actress to play Dorian. It was different when they hired Elaine because Robin was happily out of Rauch's orbit and doing quite well in primetime out on the coast. This whole scenario never sat right with me only because I distinctly remember the interview where Robin talks about how she and Louise promised (even if jokingly) not to accept one another's parts. I dunno, I'd be interested to hear Louise's take, maybe she couldn't give a damn.

    • That works for me. And/or Dani could be in with a fast crowd and got involved with something shady and Bill came to the rescue.
    • I think judging from synoses of other shows, that the summaries are roughly in the order they played throughout the year. So Kubeck returned to a more crime theme. Maybe now that EON was competition they wanted that audience? Re Jameson Parker, the story goes that he was not pleased that TPTB wanted to tread lightly with the Dale/Ellen romance and he was taken to task over some improvs he added re touching Ellen in ways considered too 'racey'.So when his contract was up he quickly moved to OLTL as Brad.
    • I don’t think it was intentional. Because if it was, I imagine it would’ve been mentioned in one of those ‘Welcome to the Neighborhood’ specials that aired.
    • I mean, soaps are a world were 5'2" Eva Longoria can be a runway model...
    • I wonder if Michelle Val Jean even considered this. It seems so obvious to many of us.  If they want the Dupree name to continue, Anita and Vernon need at least one male heir.  Two would be even better.  Do you think Val Jean may have written it this way intentionally for some reason?
    • Agreed Anita and Vernon definitely needed a son or two.  The Duprees are the core family, yet the name practically doesn’t even exist anymore.  Some slot machines would be nice

    • I would have it come out that Dani was pregnant with Naomi while her career was still on the rise, and the idea of a Dupree having a baby out of wedlock would be scandalous, and Bill, who was starting out in his career, received pressure from Vernon/Anita to do the "honorable thing" and marry her and in exchange Vernon promised to help his new son-in-law out with his legal career.

    • Dani as a model never sat right with me, especially when some of the cringe dialogue was saying she was a rival to Naomi Campbell. Not trying to be mean or disparaging against her, but in no world would Dani/Karla Mosley's looks have ever have been accepted in the real world and ultra competitive high fashion modeling industry - certainly not 15-20 years ago. I get this is fiction, but come on...
